If they were both the same, wouldn't the review along with the score correlate to that notion? wow a few frame drops, the actual game is the same....same gameplay combat etc....doesnt look as good as 360 but most multiplats look slightly better, loading times slower, so what 5-10 sec more, and frame drops, there are many games wid frame drops although they still get the same score, so i dont see why u would rate a game much less due to some technical probs, its not like the game is unplayableWell mates, Bayonetta is the first game to get put on the 2010 Spreadsheet. Yays. :P

I was close with my guess of 9.5 and 8.5.
The epicness of 2010 is already at full blaze only 5 days in. Bayonetta and Darksiders (which I'm predicting to get 8.0 or 8.5) are already out, and if we count Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth (though it technically came out Dec 28 2009), then there are already 3 truly great games that people need to be playing. And we still have Mass Effect 2, No More Heroes 2 and Dark Void coming out this month. My wallet and my love life are weeping.

Why......?
IGN Review"the 360 version is vastly superior to the PS3 version on a technical level, so PS3 owners fortunate enough to own a 360 should absolutely avoid the PS3 copy."

IGN: PS3 version 8.2
IGN:XBOX360 version 9.5..........8)
And 2010 starts off with a bang! I just received my copy today (special edition ;) ). It's a hell of a lot better than DMC4 and NG2. Shame that the PS3 version got the short end of the stick here. I really wish everyone would enjoy this game to its fullest.SpinoRaptor24
i think it will for alot of multiplats this year

Unlikely. Most multiplats are practically identical these days. Bayonetta is an exception because of the special circumstances surrounding the PS3 version's release.[QUOTE="tastetheacidmil"][QUOTE="SpinoRaptor24"]And 2010 starts off with a bang! "A few". Not "a lot". So is better ;)
Secondly, 0.5 -1 point less hardly makes a game crappy.
After the IGN reviews of both versions, I am not surpise. Shame the PS3 version have problems, but it look like everything else beside the graphics and loading times are just as great as the 360 version, so that good. I will give it a rent, since I do love Devil May Cry, and maybe I will get it when it is cheap.
So I guess the demo was a good indication the game's final release. They didn't do anything to fix the erratic framerates after all. Dissapointing.shalashaska88When the demo came out the game was already gold. Further improvements were very unlikely.

Wait what? Is that how it works, so does that mean DA:O is an extra AAA for the PS3?
I guess. If you count up the A, AA, and AAA's then it would count.[QUOTE="suntaice"]

I think everyone know that DA:O was an extra AAA for PS3 just like Fallout3 was for 360. It matters for the overall count of games of course
my thoughts triple A D= how did DMC4 and NG2 do?Oh snap, a AAA for the best action game on 360.
BioShockOwnz
No averages, the only reason why the PS3 version got knocked was visual quirks, framerates, and overall presentation polish. The best version of the game is a 9.0 AAA, and at this point the highest rated action game(as in hack n slash) game of the gen. Trust me it more than lived up to its hype.9 and an 8 gives us 8.5 which equals to a flopped game, considering everyone hyped it to be the gow3 killer and that it would score 9.5....
sorry to disappoint but it didnt live up to the hype

So Bayonetta is this gens best hack and slash game.
Who would have thought.
Though I knew it would exceed expectations after playing the demo so many times.

anyone that had faith in Hideki Kamiya and all that talent they have at platinum games would have guess they would deliver at such a high level. I was a bit worried when madworld was more meh than something i would have expected from all the talent Platinum games has. But Bayonetta looks like it lives up to all the aweosme in that development studio Next up is maybe Mikami's new survival horror game. Could be AMAZING :Dhah, watched the video review... it looks awesome :oJandurinActually the video review made me deslike the game. What an horrible soundtrack... *trembles*

I thought Sony personally stepped in to improve the PS3 version for western release? If they have, then i'd hate to see what the japanese got.
Even though the PS3 version isn't anywhere near as good as the 360 version I am sure it is still good.
seriously. i wonder if the US PS3 demo was before or after Sony's fixing? I mean, it wasn't broken, it just was dull in comparison with the vibrant look and feel of the 360 versionI thought Sony personally stepped in to improve the PS3 version for western release? That was just a rumor that was taken way too seriously. Completely false, as we can now see.I thought Sony personally stepped in to improve the PS3 version for western release? If they have, then i'd hate to see what the japanese got.

Yea but the GoW3 demo was incredible. Plus, Im biased towards the art style and theme of GoW. I just cant take that J-Pop stuff. The art style and music are completely wacky to me. I think alot of people will be turned off from Bayonetta for these reasons, especially in the US.Bayonetta may have the deeper fast paced combat, but it will be probably missing the epicness and overall shock/brutality that god of war brings. I haven't played the full game of bayonetta to be honest, I probably won't play it until the end of this year or until I can get it for a lot cheaper. The samething with AC II. They are both excellent games, but I have many that I still haven't beaten and it's absolutely pointless to buy now if I won't have the time to play it.
It's also a shame that the PS3 has gotten the worse version again! I don't know if it's worse enough to drop it a whole point though. I mean .5 is completely understandable, but the reviewer dropped it by an entire point. Same with the IGN review... That must mean that it's serious...
Pretty much this game is going to be for the DMC/NG II type crowd that loves that fast paced action and killing a lot of stuff while it being challenging. There a lot of people who fit this type and they usually happen to not like GoW as much simply because the game isn't focused on doing a million crazy combos at once and it's not as fast paced.

I dunno man. Summoning a plethora of overblown execution/torture instruments (guillotine, giant chainsaw, iron maiden, spiked torture wheel, etc.) sounds pretty shocking and brutal to me. If you're referring to GOW3's depiction of gore, then that's a different story.Bayonetta may have the deeper fast paced combat, but it will be probably missing the epicness and overall shock/brutality that god of war brings.

Bayonetta finally is getting it right by making it completely ridiculous. Fits the style perfectly.
