GameSpot's Top 25 Games of 2015: The Witcher 3 Is Gamespot Game of the Year 2015

My top 10 this year is

1. The Witcher

2. Dying Light

3. Tomb Raider

4. Bloodborne

5. Smite

6. Fallout

7. Ori

8 Helldivers

9. Halo 5

10. Rainbow Six

GS changed their rules criteria for GOTY. So this means that Captain Toad will not be in the top 25, even though its a GOTM award winning game. I'm incredibly disappointed and I don't really have a horse to root for in this race.

I'm betting that if it wasn't for some mysterious rules change Captain Toad cracks the top 10.

So... Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, according to GameSpot at least, is a much better game than Halo 5.

... What are you doing, GS?

I'll forgive GameSpot for this (so far) sucky list if they include Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 in the Top 5, and if they include Arkham Knight in the Top 10.

Am I asking too much?

Have lems looked at any other sites? Halo is doing shit all around so the majority of sites must be biased.

Rainbow Six Siege was received poorly by critics and fans. Some of the games that are ranked lower are more well received, including Heroes of the Storm that got 9 here on gamespot and written review was very positive as well, yet it is rated lower than Siege.

As much as I'm tired of Assassin's Creed franchise, I think even that deserves to be higher on the list than Siege. This list is a disaster.

OMG, they haven't even listed Battlefront yet, which means it's going to be higher on the list. Lol.

This is how Gamespot's top 5 list will look like:

Well Halo 4 got 87% Halo MCC got 85% and Halo 5 has 84% Is a B+ series now only die hard lemmings refuse to admit it B+ still good just now what it use to be,but is fun seeing lemming defending the game so badly when the reality is that it wasn't only gamespot who rated the game lowers it was basically everyone.

Hey if i enjoyed Resistance which many of you flamed and had 86% i am sure you can enjoy Halo that is all it matter in the end right.?

Siege is such a great game, definitely think it's underrated...

I guess the poor lemm loss it,what you claim there only show that gamespot was one of the few who didn't slap a 9 score and actually tested was other wise was a totally broken game and they score it accordingly Halo MCC didn't work and Halo bread and butter is online,worse the were 360 version of those games working,Halo Ce,3 and 4 all worked on 360 online.

How did a game with terrible performance land at #16? This list is going to be silly. I'm curious where Ori, Vermintide, and Pillars will land.

I wouldn't put it past GameSpot to do something like that, but I really don't think MGS5 is going to be #1. That HAS to be either TW3 or Bloodborne, and whichever one doesn't get the top spot will probably be at 2. I can see MGS5 getting into the top 5, maybe even the top 3, but I think the top 2 spots are pretty much taken at this point.

It's like the Gamespot staff took a random game and then drawn a random number out of a hat to determine what place it'll come in. This list is so garbage.

I haven't played it yet, but what I've read about it suggests that the game has load times of 3-4 minutes, which would make it borderline unplayable, imo. Maybe it's better on the PC, though.

I laugh when people say "_____ shouldn't be on this list at all". Cool. What are the 25 games better than it then? I didn't even play 25 games that were released this year.

I never attacked anything. I don't have to play a game to tell you that if the load times are indeed longer than 3 minutes, that is just too much.

I'm not going to knock the list, haven't played a lot of these. Since I play a mix of new and old games I'm not sure I've played 25 games released in 2015 not counting remakes/rereleases(which if I recall don't qualify).

In this case, yes. If it takes longer for a game to load than it does to boot up my PC, there are other games to play and I won't be playing that one. 3 minutes doesn't sound like much, but that is a lot of time to just stare at a loading screen. @charizaard1605 even created a thread about Xbox One load times exceeding 10 or 15 minutes. Maybe I'll give the game a try if I ever get around to running a SSD on my PC, but otherwise unless the game gets patched to load in a reasonable amount of time, I'd rather not play it.

On a side note - lay of the whiskey when you post. While I rarely (and I mean rarely) give two-shits what you say, it would be nice if your dumb comments didn't need decoding.

That really isn't true, the PC version is close to a 80 on MC, and everyone I know who bought the game has mostly good things to say about it (including myself), many of them being long-time fans of the series (again, myself included).

The only people slamming it are those who religiously think every full-priced game needs a singleplayer campaign and those who don't understand how its microtransactions and DLC policy work.

Game has issues for sure but you make it sound like a disaster, its not, its probably the best full-price game Ubisoft have put out since AC IV.

They mentioned Battlefront in their Special Achievements list- it won't be in the Top 25.

Considering that Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs both came out after Black Flag, I'll have to disagree with you on that. Is Syndicate the best AC game since Black Flag? Yes, it is. But considering that Unity and Rogue were terrible games, that's not saying a lot. Syndicate may not be the worst game ever created like some people (including me, at times) make it out to be, but it's still a drab, unimaginative game that has done nothing but work towards tarnishing the reputation and quality of the Assassin's Creed franchise even more. Which is heart breaking, because it was a franchise that had so much potential.

It looks like rainbow six siege is in GS's top 25. I knew it would make the list. It's looking less likely COD BO3 or Battlefront 3 made the top 25 GOTY list. Splatoon may make the list still, bloodborne will definitely make it into the 25.

Battlefront 3 got a 7/10 on Gamespot. It was very unlikely it was going to make Gamespot's top 25 GOTY unless all the Gamespot editors that decide Gamespot's GOTY liked it enough to make the top 25 GOTY list. Gamespot found another way to recognize that game instead. It's the same reason you won't find COD BO3 in the top 25 list either.
