Wow, guys, going a little over the top here. It's broken and unfinished and unpolished, but it isn;t "garbage". It's still a pretty good game that you can sink literally hundreds of hours into. I would have been a little let down by GS if they'd included it in the Top 5, and maybe even #6 is a bit of stretch, but it definitely deserves a spot in the Top 10.

I'm going to hold it to the standards of other open world games released this year, sorry. It was outdone.

The Witcher 3? No competition, TW3 shits on it. MGS5? Excellent game design. I personally am disappointed in the game but I can see why people would rank it higher. Arkham Knight? I personally LIKED the game, but FO4 is a much more immersive and enjoyable experience.

FO4 is a very good game, no two ways about it. I'm happy with its placement on the list.

Rise of the Tomb Raider #8, didn't see that coming.

Anyhow, guess it'd be too much to hope Mad Max and Batman Arkham Knight would make the list, probably Witcher 3, MGS5, Bloodborne, Mario Maker, and something else.

Those two are definitely not making it- deservedly so in Batman's case, though I hear Mad Max is alright.

Rocket League. That'll be the top 5. only question is which order

I wouldn't have a problem with Rocket League at #1.

Pretty much everything lol. From the games listed as nominations for pc, to the nominations for xbox one, to the list they have of the top games right now.. its all horribly done imo. Gamespot hasn't been the same for some years now imo, now with Kevin Vanord also gone, the forum community not being what it once was, Review quality has gone down, etc... Danny is really the only person I care to watch videos or read anything from to be honest.

I am enjoying Fallout 4, but it is way to high at 6 imo, no Halo 5 or Forza 6 for xbox one list when they are two of the years best games, no Pillars Of Eternity which imo is just slightly behind Witcher 3 for GOTY, I liked MGS5 but it is WAY overrated on gamespot (10/10? probably top 3 on gamespot's list) etc...

Might be easier to ask what "DON'T" I take issue with lol. Looks like WItcher 3 will win GOTY, that will be one thing I agree with I guess lol. There was a time when I use to love everything about gs, nowadays.. not so much, from the people they have working, to the forums now, to the reviews, to the videos.... I will check back once in awhile to check out the forums but Kevin Vanord was honestly one of the last reasons I check out this site, now its just Danny.

Mad Max is a great concept and game buried under a mountain of glitches, bugs, and tedious collectible quests. Doesn't deserve the top 20. If it was to make it, I would say maybe 21-25. It has more of a right to be in this list than Evolve easily.

Yeah, and I'd also say Batman deserves to be ahead of AC Syndicate. Batman was actually pretty good it's just a shame the PC port was mishandled so badly. Syndicate has far worse major design issues, despite the narrative being the game redeemed itself from Unity's mistakes, actually hasn't.

So I guess Arkham Knight didn't make it despite being a cut above almost all other action adventure games like its predecessor... Oh well, Bloodborne is going far here. It's the other fantastic game I played this year.

@Pikminmaniac: that depends, it was a horrible port and it should be taken into consideration

@Berserker1_5: Should it be punished if one of its versions was bad? Or should it be graded on the strongest version? I'm sure review sites didn't care about that when they gave Skyrim and Bayonetta nods. Both of those were inferior on PS3 yet got GOTY recognition.

Rocket league isn't really all that fun. They're gonna put that shit in the top 5?

It's a great game. The only negative thing you can say about it is the absolutly terrible match making. Worst I've ever seen.

The matchmaking isn't all that bad.

Then again, my other most played online game is Splatoon, so what do I know.

It's good to see SOMA on that list, that game was great! Have yet to play Until Dawn.

It's fucking atrocious when you get in to ranked matches. They consistently match you with players of different ranks. Unacceptable. If a player quits on you during a ranked match, you have two options: get raped or quit. If you do the latter, you're banned for 15 minutes.

They've made tons of green on this game, they should invest some of that in a better match making system.

Why are people surprised at Halo 5 being #23? Its not really a top20 game so Gamespot pretty much had it spot on.

AK deserves to be in TOP 10, it's so funny having Evolve in top 25 yet no Batman. smh.

It's a really fucked up system as it stands right now, so I avoid it myself. While I was playing though, I encountered some really amazing players. This one dude showed me why they call the game "rocket league" because he used it to play above the field. He could score goals from like ten feet high. It really adds another layer of depth to what is already awesome gameplay.

Haven't seen Yoshi on any one of these lists :(

I'm a huge fan of Fallout 4, it's my GOTY, despite its shortcomings and it's easily got me by the throat. I can't stop playing it.

Yeah reports of the PC port and being chained to the Batmobile a little too much is what knocked it below City for me. Shame because there is a lot of good things happening in the game.

Home fries let me tells ya, I've put like 150 hours in it already, and haven't done everything yet. Got all the achievements and there's still so much to do.

And Fallout 4 RIGHTFULLY placed at #6. Couldn't think of a better place to put it.
