God of War 3 is dissapointing

Haven't played it yet, and given the quantity of God of War fans here, this is sure to rile someone.

I have no idea wtf these haters are saying gow3 is one of the best games of the new gen ??

If gow 3 sucks then they need to stop playing games period or stop talking rubbish imo

I disagree i enjoyed it immensly.

You know, going by footage and images, GOW3 looked really good...an obvious improvement. But Now that i've beaten the game i'm left with a bad taste in my mouth.

While SM did wonders with SCALE and the overall SIZE of things, gameplay and story-wise..GOW3 was nothing special...like it was rushed and simply made for those 2 first reasons, like some tech demo.

Animations seem so dated i was expected realism and weight to the character, but this is just a recycled PS2 animations for the most part. Add the clipping issues and the fact that he moves like his moon walking.

The story simply got..well, boring...dragging on, it's hard to explain...it's like SM kept throwing enemy after enemy to make up for the lack of better story telling and then make up for it with a LARGE boss, didn't feel as satisfying as GOW2, IMO.

While graphics looked good, i don't see where everyone gets the whole GRAPHICS king from..the only GOOD looking thing is Kratos's model, the rest is a lot of unrealistic plastic shine. Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 look better.

I'm scratching my head wondering how HIP HOP gamer actually said GOW3 looks like a PS4 title. while having the nerve to call the review opinions of IGN and Gamespot idiotic. Funny stuff.

Anyways, that's my opinion....thoughts?

With all the hype it's my own fault for expecting too much I guess. Still though, it wasn't as big a step forward as I had hoped it would be.

To be honest, I thought it was amazing. I just now finished it. And it is possibly one of the best games I can remember. The only thing I didn't like was the cavern and labyrinth levels. They were really bland and lame. I wish the game was a bit brighter too. But it does kind of set the mood.

Well, this is the general impression I've gotten from people I know, one of the biggest GoW fans I know personally is disappointed by the game. Still, I'll be getting it myself at some point to test it out.

you know there are moments that deserves a complete annihilation of skittles ownage and that is just one of them :P

Like It was not :| in a matter of fact, Santa Monica's development cycle is a 2 years cycle and GOW3 took over 3 years in the making, prove me wrong if you can.

even if thats what their goal was ( which is nothing to be ashamed of and is nothing short of amazing ) to achieve then it is a goal that nobody in the industry achieved yet, it was indeed a showcase for the next-gen GOW title, this is what gamers around the world want to see whats next gen is all about, I hope you know why people upgrade to next-gen consoles :?

Thats the only subjective thing you can talk out of your....mind...so Im not gonna go in depth with it, bottom line, you didn't like the story, I liked it...surprise!!!

Thats just blatantly wrong, because the game literally looks CGI-ish in some areas, the bosses are ALL insanely detailed and some of the environments are just stunning and thats not an opinion, it is a fact, from titans to gods they were all highly detailed characters and from hades realms to the labyrinth, all highly detailed areas.

If you read the OP you'd see he doesn't outright bash it or hate on it. He's just stating his personal opinions and discussing the game just as any of us could do if we liked. Just because a game gets AAA rating and sells well then that means no one is allowed to discuss it in any negative manner...ever? :?

so everyone that doesnt love gow3 hasnt played it? i finished it the other day and i would honestly give it an 8.5 tops, rounding up from 8.3. i myself never played gow 1 or 2, but if 3 is the best one out of the group, i dont really want to play the first two to be honest.mtradr43

I never said that. I said it's obvious that some users haven't played the game - I never said anyone that bashes the game hasn't played it.

Blog it. No one cares about your opinion, especially when all it is is damage control. It achieved AAAE here on Gamespot and averages a 93 on Metacritic. That's not a disappointment from the stance you look at things from on System Wars, and therefore YOUR opinion is irrelevant, especially when I and many many many others on this board LOVE God of War III....

I cant see in any way how the animations feel dated. You also said he moves like hes moon walking? The other two God of War games felt like that a lil but this one is far from it.

Ive noticed many people saying they dont like the story only to find out they had no clue at all what the story is about. So Id like to know if you actually get the story first. The story of the God of War series is so much more thought out and planned then a lot of people realize.

The graphics look superb in almost every section. Almost every part of the game is as detailed as Kratos. I found maybe 2 or 3 spots where the graphics didnt look as astounding as the rest of the game.

[spoiler] I can see how people out there dont like the story of God of War 3 because they think Kratos accidentally killed himself. I mean if people legitimately dont like the story thats fine, but please at least try to understand it first. [/spoiler]

You didn't like it. That's cool. Your opinion means little to me. Just so you know an average user rating of 9.6 and a 93 on metacritic pretty much means you and a handful of hardcore lems are in the EXTREME minority. Different tastes in what great gaming is I guess.

The pacing in this game is probably the best I have seen in any action game. The visual and audio presentation also needs no explanation.

And whoever was making wise cracks about guys here with Kratos avatars...get a life dude, and maybe think of switching your very own lame avatar. When I read your posts the voice I imagine hearing is that of mini-mouse.

Just another reason why PS2 will always be better than PS3.
