The metacritic score for GoW actually just went UP. You hardly ever see that, especially for a game sitting in the 90s that has already been reviewed by all the major outlets. Sitting at 95 right now. This thing is sounding like a masterpiece.

Sony's games have sold much better than anything from MS this gen and their games are higher than MS games on Twitch since you keep bringing that irrelevant site up. Millions of people are still playing Sony's games compared to MS games. God of War 3 is much higher than Gears of War 4 and Halo 5 on Twitch LOL. Sea of Thieves is trash so MS needs to create a game to contend with God of War.

There's a lot more reviews that need to come in yet so it could drop. And apparently Edge carries a lot of weight and could spell doom for the 95+ dream.Edge can be edgy.

Crapgamer predicted sea of thieves will outsell God of War. I wonder if he is going to admit he was wrong.

I guess any damage control will do, anything to avoid the fact that MS First Party has been releasing hot turds this gen. Those came and went rather anticlimactically. All that talk of more power etc cracked open and got washed away into the sea

One thing that remains constant and that is PS4's utter DOMINANCE this gen. Not by power alone but by great transcendent content. Much like the PS2. Bravo Sony

I feel like this might be the last straw for a lot of lems around here. After all the trash they talked on GoW, and all the hype they poured on SoT, this is the hardest they've been owned in a while. And we all know how many times lems have gotten owned this gen. The crazy thing is, as far as this year goes, GoW, in all its competition wrecking glory, is far from all that Sony is bringing to the table. When Spiderman comes around, for instance, it's going to be slaughter around here all over again. This might be the most painful year for lems yet.

True. Although I doubt Scalebound would have been adequate competution for GOW. The game looked like a solid AA scoring game, not the AAA+ blockbuster caliber game that GOW is. It would have definitely been better than Sea of Tears for sure. Phil messed up badly by cancelling Scalebound and funding SoT, it should have been the other way round.

I kept telling lems last year that this year would be worse for them but they dismissed me. They thought they had it bad last year with HZD and the other Sony exclusives. This year is going to be the worst year yet for them. Next year might be even more terrible for them seeing as TLOU2, Death Stranding, and Ghosts of Tsushima are releasing.

Lems have themselves to blame for the current shitty state the Xbone is in. While Sony was building their first party studios and creating new IPs, lems were praising Phil for closing down studios and focusing on service games. Now we’re seeing the fruits of Sony’s hard work and MS are looking like total fools with shitty games like Sea of Tears and Crackhead 3.

The Sony onslaught for the year is far from over too. We still have Detroit and the mega blockbuster Spiderman on its way, in addition to PSVR exclusives while lems are spending another year waiting for E3 and a release date for the mediocre looking Crackhead 3.

Mainly it's a single player game, meaning all the reviewers were able to review the game already and with no MP restrictions which is why we see lots of higher scores as of right now.

Same happen to Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Thats cool that God Of War 3 was up there with Gears 4. MS games though are consistently up on the charts whereas Sony games drop off. I dont get why you're so upset by Twitch and that Sea of Thieves is having a lot of success with people having fun.

Its a good thing Sony is doing stuff with God Of War 4 with end game content and giving the game some legs. I dont think any gamer would complain about a game getting added value with replayability.

The focus on sales is blinding you. There are other apsects to look at besides sales. Fortnite Battle Royal is free/no sales but look how successful it is. People have fun regardless of sales and reviews.

I stopped playing GoW games after my last LTR kinda ruined it for me (We used to play the different parts we liked together to beat the games... Had a dog named Kratos)

Now, the new LTR is a big cosplayer nerd kind of girl and helped me finish 3 in time for this. It's been a pleasant thing, actually. I'm glad this game is getting epic scores! Seems like a sign of more good things to come all around.

@blufalconultra: Watching you guys roll around in such mediocre movie game like its Cow sh!t is entertaining, but the smell makes it hard to stay in the barn too long. The president of the PS4 fan club, Peter Brown, said it himself: the story and setting steal the show. As usual, those factors take presidents over actual gameplay. I've bought and sold a PS4 this gen just to try the exclusives, but they are not for me. I can see them being for some people obviously, but don't sit there and entertain the idea that everyone outside your little bubble gives a crap or is jealous about it.

I'll be feeling as happy as ya'll we i get to play State of Decay 2, that will provide me with over a 1000 hours of entertainment, just like the first. Even if God of War was on XB, i'd probably buy it in a year on sale for $20 bucks on impulse if nothing else caught my eye at the time. Story based games are good for one run for me, i rarely play singal player games more than once. Expections are fallout or elder scrolls games.

I get it though, you guys live for these games were as i live for singal player, open world survival, sand box style games. To each their own. However, when you guys act like we're running and hiding or jealous, you're only fooling yourselfs. Please stop, i'm embarrassed for you.

I like open-world games, but they're incredibly time consuming...
