MS has given up on this gen, did that ages ago. They will concentrate on next gen, i think the next Xbox will release before Sony.

@pdogg93: They have no choice but to sit by and watch. Microsoft's studios don't even have half the talent that Sony does.

MS is just holding on and preparing for next gen. They abandoned the 360 in 2010 and that was a more successful console than the Flopbone. No chance they are planning any big surprises for Xbone this gen. Everything they are working on now will be for next gen. Even if they announce big AAA games this E3 they still won't be ready till next gen at the earliest.

lol, I wish I could help. I liked UC4, and even though I found some of the climbing sections dull I still enjoyed the game.

@blufalconultra: well being that this is a hype thread and now a mix of review thread the only bases and opinion I can give is off the reviews. After you get past all the “dickrider fanboy” reviewers that wanna just gush and not tell you anything other than its amazing. You see more honest and critical reviews say it’s a great game, but. Sony’s biggest problem and issues with their first party games are they are just copy cats of something popular that’s already been done.

Edit: and I will eventually play GOW or at least a hour of it to see how it is.

Unfortunately it appears that MS is pulling an Xbox 360 all over again and abandoning any hope of new system sellers this gen. Pathetic company with even shittier management. I feel bad for the fans, but at least they have a good multiplat box.

I was on the fence for this reboot. I enjoyed the first two GoW games, the third ended poorly and I ignored Ascension. After seeing the reviews being so positive, I'm leaning towards picking it up sooner rather than later.

Why is the score 9 when they didn't listed the bad thing about the game. Anyways another reason for PS4 owners to own the console.

Don't have a PS4? Dude, my favourite game of this gen is a PS4 exclusive (well shared PS3/4 exclusive), I love my PS4. I'm just bored with the way Sony approaches there 1st party titles.

It's not a reboot if they continue the story from previous games.

I don't see most people doing repeat play throughs since you can go back to earlier areas if you want to see optional areas or bosses you missed.

I guess if you want to play with different builds for Kratos. There's also the different difficulty levels. The highest difficulty level will change enemy patterns as well.

What is the context you are referring to? If you liked a game I didn't, then its less likely I would rely on your opinion of games that look very similar in nature. Where is the complication?

Cool, although the last Sony game that got 10/10's universally put me to sleep while playing it. I really hope this is actually good and not just another movie game.

kind of wish I had a PS4 Pro right now, game will look sick on my 4K OLED, but I'll have to make due with my vanilla PS4 which I'm sure will still look fantastic, hopefully by E3 or TGS Sony announces a new SKU for the Pro that's cheaper, better cooling, all that good stuff

Why? These movie games always get high scores (UC/TLOU,etc). People like movies. Can't change that.

God damn I've also realized how much I have missed GOW.

Funny to see people cry over the series going in a new direction. No one wanted another GoW after Ascension with that same style of gameplay and storytelling. It was a stale formula that rans its course. If they continued doing that it would be as irrelevant as Gears of War 4 was.

Yeah, Gears 4 needed the same kind of bold reinvention that GOW 2018 received. Ascension, a game I didn't bother with, was beyond stale. After the two PSP's games and GOW3 I had had enough of the same playstyle.

Just curious, what games are you into? I've seen you be indifferent towards a few games and I was wondering specifically why. I find myself doing the same, and I want to make sure I'm not just being dismissive.

Wow great job SCE Santa Monica! I am surprised by the positive response to this game, although I will admit that I was turned off by the cinematic trailers and didn't look very far into the game.

It seems like they did not lose sight of the twitch based action of the originals. Bravo! Might pick this up sometime in the summer

Except that if they did that, it would be a catastrophe because the Xbox One X released not long ago. MS is in a shitty position right now. Perhaps they can release a new console just a little bit after the PS5 but with some well-polished, *complete* exclusives.

I could list many more. I use to be into God of War and really enjoyed 1, 2, and 3. Played Ascension but I just got bored in the franchise.

Cool. I played the MP beta for Ascension and that was as close as I got to that game. Maybe since I've only played 3, I still have some room for Kratos.
