FORZA....easily.

9,000 physics parameters compared to the measly 300 in GT games...

anyone with any realworld high speed driving experience will see Forza is muuuuuch closer to reality than GT...

i won't even address the bumpercar physics in GT games....

GT is the sliver spoon of racing games. The rest just feel arcade ish. Plus how can you call 2 games in a roll a series compared to something with 4 games.caseypayne69
What does the amount of games have to do with anything? GT did better because it was known as the only driving sime. Take the last GT and compare its score to both Forza games and Forza wins. Even if you use GS only or gamerankings both Forza games scored better then the last GT game.

F1 on the ps3 has real damage !!

ChiChiMonKilla

F1 on PS3 is not a GT game or part of this poll

So stop acting like forza's damage is so great it's not much better than gt in that area. Both do a poor job in this area also the object of the game is to not crash. Also stop calling these games racing sims F1 on the ps3 is better and GTR2 and rFactor own everything on console.

Wrong. The damage in Forza impacts the handling of your car, as it would in real life... GT doesn't have this....

F1? really? how are you going to get the necessary tactile reponse using a lifeless controller that comes with the ps3?

wow...you had to go to pc games to try to match forza? sound like Forza is better than i thought...:)

I feel I am repeating myself here - which is odd as i really didn't think the concept here was all that difficult. The topic states the two games that are the topic of comparison. I can't say or do anything more to help you on this? If this concept is too difficult for you to understand, i think it might be best if you don't post in this thread anymore?

I play with the logitech gt4 wheel it has FF and rumble both work with F1 on the ps3. Also not I said F1 was better than forza 2 in being a sim before I went to pc in case reading comprehension is not one of your strong points. As for gt4 having no damage, yes it does but it does not have cosmetic damage like forza. The damage is never used unless you crash and unless you suck that rarely happens.

apparently you haven't played Forza... the damage is NOT just cosmetic... there are different settings....

also you forgot the wear that occurs in Forza that does not in GT....

if you don't understand the difference between wear and damage, don't respond...;)

This is why I dislike Forza bashers. They never have any idea what they're talking about. If you crash into a wall with the damage set to simulation, you are not going to drive away from it.

Well, actually, you will, but your car isn't going to make more than 10 MPH.

I have yet to play Forza 2, but I have played Forza 1 and all the GTs. I feel that GT is a far superior series. For all that Forza has going for it, it doesn't feel real like GT. As for Forza 2, I hear that the game keeps crashing which if true, losses points in my opinion.

Forza is just the better series IMO, sure GT5 beats Forza in graphics but unless GT5 improves greatly on the physics engine it'll still be second place to Forza.

I have GT2, GT3, Forza 1, and Forza 2 in my collection. The Forza series wins my vote everytime. Online play, more customization options, better AI, and a better driving model.

I can't believe this has even brought up. GT ftw. Forza copied(like every other wannabe sim). And add the console's reliability factors and well..... you know the rest.

Things don't work like that around here dude. The latest version of the game is what's used in comparisons. You can't just fall back on GT3 because it helps your argument now. GT4 is the bar that Forza was compared to and it surpassed it. GT4 was better than GT3, it's just that since they didn't add anything new, it scored lower.

GT4 is the bar and Forza surpassed it. End of story.

forza. aside from the fact that it looks better. it's far, far more realistic and far more customizable. and not in the chavvy NFS way. You need to tweak and upgrade parts of the car to get it fast as possible without it changing **** and there's loads of cosmetic options. F-O-R-Z-AcrunchUK

yeah you are right.. FAR more realistic.. this video proves it.. go ahead and watch,, i was amazed to see how good the physics are..hehehehe

[QUOTE="freshfighter83"][QUOTE="legalize3"][QUOTE="-wii60-"]

[QUOTE="-MoOkS-"]GT, forza should be compared to the need for speed series not GTlegalize3

:| please explain why..

gt is the only ''game'' actually its not a game but a real life simulatorthat comes close to how people brake, gas, hadnbrake, steer, make a turn, spin, drag etc in real life

in short if you wanna have fun race win the race you take forza..

if you wanna have a feel how a real ife car react you take GT...

Sorry. I'm a big fan of the GT series but Forza is harder. With all assists of, and high A.I. Forza is hard, one bad mistake and it's race over.

im pretty sure your not a gt fan you would know the difference

like i said gt is not a race game its a real life simulator thats the difference

sure you can race but the main thing is simulate real life

Have you even played Forza? From the statements you made I am going to guess and say no.

I will say Gran Turismo. Sure, Forza is more realistic and has more customisation options, but there is a near-Italian level of passion behind each Gran Turismo which I don't think Forza could ever replicate. The presentation is so sleek and well done -- when i'm cycling through a menu, I hear the easy listening music in the background and I see the gorgeous lighting bouncing off the cars, and I realise that cars can definitely be sexy things. Polyphony demonstrates that fact to an almost perverse degree, using all these fancy camera angles to demonstrate their love of cars. Then on the track there seems to be so much more going on than just cars on the tarmac: the pit crews, all animated perfectly; the tiny details everywhere like the Sparco posters hanging on the garage wall. It's more of a living, breathing racing experience than just a simple race. It's almost like a celebration of cars. That's why I love GT more.

Cheers mate - this is the sort of reply I was hoping for in the poll

Its also one of the things I loved about the GT games and I am a massive car fan (in real life too)- as you put it, its likea celebration of cars (I love GT2's intro). However, this also one of the things that put me off the game. I found that I was more into collecting and getting a garage full of beautiful rides than I was of actually racing.

The racing element of the game became tedious and boring as the competitive element felt lacking.

you cant compare it currently because GT5 is coming out next year while Froza was released a while a ago a more fair comparison is between PGR4 and GT5 but even that sucks because GT5 is coming out later than PGR4.

If you look at the title I amNOT comparing forza 2 to GT5 - I am comparing the series. If you have played both the GT and the Forza games you'll notice that although in the same boat, they play quite differently.

Comparing PGR4 to GT5 would not work - neither are out for a start and they are a different style of racer. PGR is not a simulation, its more an arcade racer....simular to say, ridge racer.

I play with the logitech gt4 wheel it has FF and rumble both work with F1 on the ps3. Also note I said F1 was better than forza 2 in being a sim before I went to pc in case reading comprehension is not one of your strong points.

If you notice the context in the way I used the word cosmetic it was meant that the damage could be seenI never said that it had no impact on the cars performance. As for wear that is also in gt4 if you don't know I strongly suggest you play the game before making false claims. You seem to only focus on the car damage in the game so the perfect game for guys like you is burnout. As for not playing forza 2 I would be only too happy to take to to any track you like and embarrass you on any setting you like.

The damage aspect in Forza adds alot to the game play over GT. In GT you can pretty much smash into anything, cars, walls etc and it doesn't even really slow you down.

This is not exactly realistic in the slightest and really takes alot of the challange and fun out of the game. In forza you have to concentrate harder on what you are doing. You need to pic your over taking spots carefully and keep an eye on the car infront. In GT you just use the car infront as a crash barried on the corner.

I kind wish there was a "both" option. I've been playing Forza 2 like crazy lately, and its great, but it certainly doesn't make me forget that I've played playing GT games for something like a decade now, since the very day the first GT his the shelves in the US.

I just hope Polyphony will please, PLEASE do away with license tests in GT5!!

Forza for the physics, damage, and online racing.  However, the physics and damage still have a long way to go - what we've got is nothing more than a really nice start.  When cars are damaged out after an accident, fragments of carbon fiber and slicks of spilled fluids affect traction, and tire deformation and irregular surfaces affect the contact patch (we're kind of there now with LFS and Forza 2), then we'll have an accurate simulation.

Polyphony Digital has shown zero interest in pushing the envelope like this.  I'm disappointed.

I wish they had license test in forza 2 cause you have turn off the damage online cause guys refuse to race clean unless your fortunate to find the top racers to race. I have played gt4 online using the pc hack very few guys bump your car,mow the lawnor ride walls in a race. While it's nice to have some damage in forza 2 it does not go far enough imoeither do real damage or no damage not some damage.

im pretty sure your not a gt fan you would know the difference

like i said gt is not a race game its a real life simulator thats the difference

sure you can race but the main thing is simulate real life

legalize3

 Wow, here is a fanboy if you ever seen one.

Please, GT is a great game, fun to play, but to make up crap like this is way overboard.

Forza and Forza 2 simulates real life better than GT. Both do fairly good jobs at it, but Forza 2 clearly simulates the best from all previously released GT games.

And GT is not, I repeat "Not" a real life simulator. THey have blended arcade and sim into a fun game. Forza 2 is much more in depth and realistic as a sim game.

Enough with this nonsense. I voted Forza, because I like customization of each car and the more sim feel to the game. But GT is a close second.

That's nice and all, your opinion. But I think the only way that you can make a good "Game" is to have this type of half measure damage. This coming from playing countless hours online, and the knuckle heads you meet that always slam their way to last.

But I agree, on the single player game, more realistic damage is needed.

There are a few better racing simulations on the PC.

Forza. I love the customization, there are like 300 something cars. Very nice tracks. The online is very fun.

P.S. Sony Fanboys: Don't compare Forza 2 to GT5, when GT5 isn't even out yet. Wait for a game that releases around GT5 to compare. Or compare GT5 and PGR4

funny how you guys are comparing a game that is out NOW to a fictional game that doesn't exsist yet.

and please spare us the BS. I have seen the race game you call GT. it should be name pod racer or something because cars seem to be floating with very poor physics.
