:| please explain why..

gt is the only ''game'' actually its not a game but a real life simulatorthat comes close to how people brake, gas, hadnbrake, steer, make a turn, spin, drag etc in real life

in short if you wanna have fun race win the race you take forza..

if you wanna have a feel how a real ife car react you take GT...

Sorry. I'm a big fan of the GT series but Forza is harder. With all assists of, and high A.I. Forza is hard, one bad mistake and it's race over.

im pretty sure your not a gt fan you would know the difference

like i said gt is not a race game its a real life simulator thats the difference

sure you can race but the main thing is simulate real life

cows are weird how can a game be a real life sim. if all gt players do is ram into an opponant to make a turn. real life please gtho with tht bull

For me, I am a huge fan of the GT series. I own Forza 2, but it just doesn't do it for me. Forza 2 feels like it's really trying hard to be a great racing game. It is a good game, but it's not what I would call a classic racing game, more like a racing game for teens or people who are just starting to get into the racing games.

There is one very important thing that GT has that Forza does not have....presentation. Car's are great to drive, but when the presentation is done right the game takes on a whole new feel. Look at GT5 for example when you're getting ready to race. You are in the pits and you see your crew working on your beautiful car as you setup your car. GT just has that feel to it that Forza doesn't. Forza feels rushed, while GT feels very well crafted.

I don't hate Forza I enjoy the game, but GT will be my favorite console racing simulation.

My vote goes to GT I mean it's not called the ultimate driving simulator for nothing. The 1st time I played GT3 I totally fell in love with the franchise and am anxiously looking forward to GT5. Plain & Simple, if you are serious about cars and love games you cannot miss Gran Turismo.

Forza. Polyphony talks about online - Turn 10 delivered. Polyphony talks about damage - Turn 10 delivered. Polyphony talks about getting a game out by Christmas 2008 - Forza 2 is on shelves now.

One team ships software; the other has shipped hot air.

Most of the PS3 vs 360 polls on this site are bogus because the hermits automatically vote against any 360 exclusive.

What I like the most about Forza is how they set up the SP experience. It's very addictive and rewarding. The online system is very well integrated.

Everything about gameplay was broken in GT 4. I can play when cars drive totally wrong and simple physics which have nothing to do with simulator. Well, even with bad AI somehow.

But when instead races you mostly drive alone cause this genious from Polyphony didn't bother about gameplay at all and racing events are total mess with random cars, I just gave up.

forza motorsport is a lot better in my opinion from gran turismo.what really matters in a racing game is how good the control it has is.forza motorsport has the best control in any racing game.gran turismo maybe have more cars, stages and choises but it can not rival the quality and the feeling that forza motorsport games have.

Yeah, if this were 2002, sure.

I like Forza 2 better, but I'm not a GT hater, I just think it's gettting pushed around a bit lately and it has a lot to prove.

Being sketchy about damage modeling and the online looking nowhere near what Forza is offering (Online auctions, etc) doesn't help it's case at all. Sure it looks GREAT, but you need a lot more than that to win at this game these days.

Car Modeling only matters when it is done right.

Forzas online functionality is great and probably pushes Forza 2 over last gen Gran Turismo 4, but at it's core gameplay GT3 A-spec is still superior over Forza(2).

What GT5 brings, I don't know, but Polyphony will make sure it will be optimal. In 2009, like in 2002, GT elevates itself once again above the competition. Polophony looks bound to achive that by releasing Prologue as a testdrive and taking their time with GT5.

I'll go with Forza series because it plays more realistic to me then GT series. The main problems I had with GT series was 1) No online, 2) to repetitive and got boring after a few weeks, 3) Not enough variety in game modes, 4) No damage to cars, 5) Crappy AI where cars rubberband on and off the tracks, 6) Unable to spin computer controlled cars around, 7) did I mention no damage? and 8] after GT 2 the games didn't change or feel different from the previous versions.

Right now GT5 has better graphics then Forza 2, but that's about it. Until I actually play GT5 I really can't give it better props then that. If it plays like GT3 & GT4, I'm going to be bored to death. Thankfully it has online mode now and that might be what saves it.

I choose Forza's series. It's AI is infact smarter than GT's.. With the Hardest difficulty set, Lines and Assists off, you are guaranteed a challenge. I have never really liked the toy car feeling that GT gives me. It was great on PS2, but I never considered it a simulator. They don't even have branded upgrades. Forza has a largeamountof customization options, including, but not limited to engine swaps. Body modifications are also a plus, to make the car YOUR OWN... which is something GT has always failed to do in my eyes. In terms of actual tuning, Forza has it's own benchmark program, In depth tuning for perfect breaking, and also, engine tuning that can make your car run at an optimal setup for the race (acceleration or speed)... plus you can save multiple tuning setups on forza, to upload yourpreferredsetup for each track. Lastly, In terms of online play, I haven't used GT's, so I have no say on this subject... but from what I've seen, Forza seems to beast it.

That's up to interpretation (obviously....seeing as how we have a Gran Turismo vs. Forza thread every week in here). I, along with most people, grew up with Gran Turismo. That's my series.

Well I have played Forza(both of them), and I also race cars in real life, and you are wrong. GT5P>Forza 2 . I bought Forza 2 used, and took it back the next day it was so bad. Neither game is even remotely close to real life, but GT is closer than Forza is.

Both games are racing sims.

The arguement about handling is floored as no one has driven all the cars in the game in real life, and then add the millions of different possible tuning options etc.

ROFL at the first 2 pages of this topic.

Lets get this straight they both have faults simulating real driving meaning ones better at one thing but worse at another, since Forza has an astounding amount of custimisation and damage its hard not to call it the better game, but at the end of the day if your use to ones fabricated simulation assest's then thats the game for you.

That said if the next forza has a driver seat view its game over, in terms of it being a better game/simulator.

My pretty strong opinions about Forza being more realistic on the driving experience come from driving a couple of the cars in the game on the track and trying to do the same in GT/Forza. People complaining about how difficult it gets in Forza to drive RWD without spinning out? Yeah, that's a real car when you start to push it hard. This is a ninjabump of doom, btw. Do you have your driver's license? Have you ever driven a FWD? A RWD? An AWD? Do you know the different ways to use the throttle / brake while curving with these cars? If you did, GT5 would be your choice.

I keep ~2.5* camber rear / 1.5* camber front, 1/32 toe out front / 1/32 toe in rear, caster cranked as far forward as it goes on my daily driver. I usually trailbrake + heel-toe downshifts on my commute to work every day, not even accounting for trackdays and the far too much time we spend at the local kart tracks. (edit: and in case you can't guess from the toe-in @ rear, my DD is a RWD car - torsen limited slip diff, no ABS or power steering) I can do things with cars that GT4's physics simply did not allow with the exact same car. We don't have access to the same cars in GT5 yet, but I don't see anything indicating it's much different on that front. Again. Taking off all assists, it's still just plain easier to drive fast in GT than it is in Forza, or on a real track. Most people don't know wtf when it comes to driving fast. There are a few on this forum that do, IIRC.

However, Forza 3 vs. GT5 is where it's at :|

god you must be joking

Thanks for sharing your knowledge...

And you can do those things in Forza?

Forza's difficulty does not translate into realism, but hey, opinions aren't meant to be right or wrong.

Actually, yeah, I can. If you flip around what you say, it's pretty true - Forza's realism translates into difficulty. When someone says that GT is closer to reality on driving physics than Forza, you can usually assume that they're either a fanboy, haven't played Forza much, and/or have never tracked a car. So far that's been a good bet to be able to make.

As I said, I can't say an opinion is wrong. Yours is just different from mine. My opinion about GT5 is formed by the way the bmw Z4 handles on a track, I have one in real life, and IMO it is as close to real as it gets.

I'm talking Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, with Professional physics turned on.
