I'd say those are all valid choices with the exception of Forza.. not that it's not impressive but racing games cut alot of corners.

Other then that it's a situation where one game does some things better then others and it's your choice to decide what looks best.

RDR2 X-Enhanced is the best looking console game I've ever played. The 4K native and detailed textures are just part of it, there are lots of cool special effects and an amazing lighting engine, performance feels good to me at stable 30 fps, never felt a stutter so far. I'm also a big fan of the game's overall artistic design choices. What a beautiful game, every day I play it I am still in awe.

Easy... Red Dead 2 on XB1 X.

Multiplats on XBOX 1X (RDR2 and even FC5) look better than ANYTHING on PSPRO.

I've been telling the other cows that PS4 wasn't gfx king, much less even console gfx king.

Several multiplats on PC are the gfx kings this gen. Console doesn't even remotely compare.

No they don't. They do, however, say nearly every game on console looks better on PC. Also direct feeds of all the games mentioned in the poll, compared to direct feeds of PC reveal PC has several games that destroy anything on consoles this gen.

When the PC wins some visual awards then you will have a valid argument but until then it's mostly comprised of PS4 exclusives and RDR2 on the X1X.

He also mentioned Raytracing which is laugable because it has no chance in hell of rendering RDR2 with raytracing.

The problem with this is that AAA quality games directed at console now. Unless it's a console port (multiplat) pc graphics generally aren't as impressive as PS4 titles.

I'm saying "generally", they straight up aren't unless the caveat of "console port". Making a blockbuster exclusive in this day and age would be insane.

More about production values now than pixel power.

Objective screenshot data is not an opinion. PS4 only won 1 year out of 6 years at DF this gen (With most wins of those 6 years being PC multiplats, as well as dozens of runner-ups being PC multiplats), and that award was on the merits of what the weak hardware was able to accomplish, as specifically stated by that award.

A majority of the best looking games this gen are PC titles, with 1 or 2 XB/PS titles thrown in the top 10. The top 50 have a few more, but still mostly PC titles. RDR2 will be on PC, so that point is moot.

The issue being, those exist, are plentiful, and are typically (by far) the best way to experience most games. And they aren't always ports, usually made simultaneously for PC.

You derailed the thread, you are mad PC is the gfx and fps king and that the TC had to make the separation. You are mad PC wins GS and SW library lists and the metagame.

Dynamic scaling is not checkerboarding. Spiderman uses a dynamic resolution scale that then uses an in-house temporal reconstruction technique that produces a 4K image.

Point was, it's not native 4k. Terminology like checkered, upscaled or dynamic are all flim flam speak for "We couldn't get native 4k".

It's interesting how the master race love mocking console games for dumbing down and withholding PC games full potentail, yet when it comes to the reality that post-Crysis no one will make them blockbuster games anymore, it doesn't matter. Thank you.

This thread is about games that have actually been released so far, not those released a decade from now.

Huh? PC gets the most blockbuster games of any system this gen due to console exclusives and exclusive genres. And it plays the best version of them all. Every dev wants to toss their big game on PC, or make it simultaneously for PC. It's easy profit.

Which is why of the top 50 best looking games this gen, (or 25), it's mostly just PC titles with maybe HZD, RDR2, GoW4, and UC4 thrown somewhere in.
