GTA4 Xbox360 DLC 10 hours each confirmed

It's to do with the console, the temperature you're playing in doesn't matter that much. It's the stress the CPU and GPU puts on the joints and the fact the fans ain't strong enough to conduct the heat out :|

It should be interesting to see what the numbers say after the launch as to how many copys were purchased for each console.

I am extremely interested in that. If the Xbox version sells a great deal more then the DLC had to have factored into the sales equation.

10 hours is quite substantial .. more than a lot of games released these days!

I thought originally Rockstar said the PS3 would get it's own, but since that time when it was first annouced. Rockstar has been mute on the PS3 getting anything in the form of DLC. I am not sure until Rockstar confirms or denys I would be hard pressed to say anything.

What I will say is the PS3 will not get any DLC for well over 6 months time. 360 Owners will be playing additional content well before any PS3 content is released. Also they will not get any of the 360 content whatsoever.

DLC isnt exactly a God send. Many dont like buying Content online. People who buy this kinda stuff are a bit of a Niche in the grand scheme of things.

Umm actually free online and rrod are the biggest excuses for a person with both a PS3 and 360 to get the PS3 version.

I think Rockband and Guitar Hero beg to differ. Also the Oblivion Shivering Isles expansion released on live was a big success.

Also the Halo 3 and COD4 Map packs sold pretty well too since most people I get on live with have them. I don't think it is a niche market, but more of the consumer deciding if the value justifys the purchase.

Yeah, see I won't argue that the PS3 version will be any different the the 360. Reality is it will not. They will be the same core game. I only point out for those that want to extend thier time in Liberty City, the DLC Microsoft and Rockstar are offering adds tons of more gameplay. 20+ hours is a long time. That is more gameplay then Halo 3 and Gears of War combined.

So the value is pretty significant for those that enjoy GTA to purchase it on the 360 if they have a choice by owning both consoles. If not then I am sure PS3 owners will be quite happy with the core game.

But here is my question.

All we have is Rockstars word that it will be worth the money. Rockstar is a pretty solid company, and if you look at thier games, since when have they not supported the gamers. I take them at thier word that this is going to be some pretty solid content.

Wow, You've changed Nitara.. before you used to be a total fanboy but now you can back yourself up without being immature and rude so thumbs up to that, sadly I can't get the downloadable content, since I don't have an X360 but even if I did have a choice to get it, I would most likely only get one of them and ask my friend to get the other, So we can just visit each othrs houses and play it then.

Well I wouldn't say I changed much in that I still give people a hard time when the facts are distorted. But I have toned it down a bit. My stance on the PS3 has changed in that it has gone from not worth it to, worth it but not right now for me anyways.

We will see later on this year towards Xmas what sony brings to the table to sway me to finally break down and buy one.

Dude, it's 20 hours of extra gameplay... after a 50+ hour campaign. Once I devote 2+ days of my life to one game, I think I'll be fine giving those 20 hours away to play something else.

Dont get me wrong, whoever wants DLC, that's great and fine. But you shouldnt call anybody else stupid for not wanting it, or wanting it enough to buy the 360 version over the PS3.

I think the bottom line CJ is that if you own both consoles, the DLC has to be a factor.

If you are the type of person that gets bored easily and wants something new after playing GTA. sure the DLC wont matter. But if you are the kinda person who enjoys good gameplay and stories and would like the game extended.. Then the DLC plays a factor.

The nice thing about the 360 version is you have a choice. The PS3 you do not.

I know but it's all about choice on which console you want to get it on too, right? I'm not saying it's not going to sway people into buying the 360 version, but it's not playing a factor with me... and I know I'm not the only one. But, I also know there are people out there opposite of me. I just dont see after playing GTA4 for 50 hours, I'm going to want more enough to buy it on my 360 instead of PS3. That's just me. If GTA was 100% exclusive to the 360, I'd buy it for sure, but that's about the only thing that would make me buy a multiplatform game on the 360 over the PS3.

And I hate to say this, because I'm not picking a fanboy fight, so please, if you have to, ignore this comment. My 360 has just been too faulty for me to want to even risk playing a game like GTA4 for hours upon hours on. That's another big reason I'm getting the PS3 version.

Like I said, I dont want to fight about RROD or failure rates with anyone, I dont have the time anyway. But that it a reason of my own.

How much will it cost though, that's the all important question for me at least. Anymore than £5 I'm not payingthrones

Good news, but Im getting the PS3 version because my friends has PS3's and normally I always buy Multiplatform games for the PS3 and last gen I was like that, all my multiplatform games were for the PS2 and I only bought exclusives for the Xbox.

And last but not least, Im more familiar with the PS controller for the game so I'll pass.

Well personaly i really don't. if the DLC was on ps3 i wouldn't get it, just like i'm not getting CoD maps or any other game DLC.

Heres what I dont understand about the Naming Choices for Fanboys. Arent 360 owners getting Milked more than PS3 owners because MS is making you pay money if you want to play online and they make you buy Recharge batterys if you dont like regular ones? Not to mention all teh Reinvions of Chip sets and stuff you have to purchase again if you want a least amount of chance to get RROD. MS is milking its consumers way more.

if a guy owns both a 360 and PS3, choosing the PS3 version is beyond all logic.

Free online isnt a factor, the guy probably allready has Live gold. He owns a 360 so he is no overly paranoid about rrod. The 360 gives the option for 20+ hours of exclusive content.

SO for a 360/PS3 owner to pick the PS3 version is simply ignorant no matter how u slice it.

However if u only own a PS3 it is a different story. Im just talkin about dual console owners.

Ghost, I am a dual console owner. I am a 360 owner. I am paranoid about the RROD, it's happened to me twice. I have the option for 20 hours extra content. I dont care enough to buy the 360 version over the PS3 version. It is ignorant for you to call someone ignorant for buying the PS3 version, however you want to slice it.

Give it up already. You dont even have a PS3, so yeah, you're probably really salivating at the mouth your 360 has an "advantage" over the PS3 and you wanna toot your horn about it all you want. As for me, I have both consoles, and my 360 has given me hell. I dont have any reason to trust a game like GTA4 on it, regardless of DLC.

And another thing, besides just being a 50+ hour game, GTA has always offered replayibility to it's games. I can still go back and play San Andreas and not be bored. Yeah, the 20 hours is cool, but I wont be starving for it man. Is that so hard to beleive??? If I want a GTA fix, I'll play the game. And I want even more? I'll replay the entire campaign!

I'm not downplaying the DLC, I'm just telling why it's not a big deal to me.

The 360 always has and had and will have an advantage over PS3. its the better console :P
