Gamespot's reviews ARE the opinion of one person. On top of that, nobody is truly "unbiased" ..everyone has preferences, everyone is uniquely conditioned to recieve different games in different ways.

They think its a good game but not up there with many other top games. They Specifically mention TF2 and UT as better MP games, and those are PC MP games, anddespite the fact they are getting ported, they are still PC games...

They say the SP was underwhelming and while good, its definitely not in the 9.0 range.

Natural Selection is an Half Life mod and IMO provides a much deeper multiplayerexperience then anything I played in the console. Depth, teamwork, innovative,two totally different sides but balanced, fast twiched likegameplay, RTS elements integrated into the game giving it even more depth and many more.

Lets hope Natural Selection 2 can be as good. I'm a bit worried because it seems to have gone off the radar for the past 10 months.

Well it's not only Gamespot who thinks Halo 3 is amazing. Just about every other reviewing site or source loves it.

The reviews are written by one person but they are screened by the entire staff, so no it is not just one person. And even if it was, it's not like Gamespot is the only source giving Halo 3 glowing reviews.

Halo is not better than all PC shooters...Halo simply takes from several PC shooters and brings in all those elemets into one game. It is like a watered down PC shooter and is very simplistic so casual people can get into it. It is the truth, and stop trying to act like Halo is God now that 3 scored a 9.5.

Halo3isa 9.5 and is one of the best fpsgames for theconsoles

But for PCs...I doubt it would get more than an 8.5.

all i saw from the tc was the same mantra over and over again, i still need some proof that the game is accuatly better then all other FPS's on pc.

it has any feature that is lacking on a pc shooter? no

pc shooters are more complex and require more skill? yes, no auto aim.

superior controls? comes down to preference but since you can use a 360pad on the pc yes the pc is superior since it has more options.

Mods, as its been already said some of the big mp franchises this year are Mods, TF2,Portal , as the old ones CS, S , and the more obscure and underground mods, some mods can even be considered expansion packs and some come close to having the same size as the game it self, (hl2 cinematic mod is pretty close).

superior mp? yes as they arent p2p servers and its free.

hl is a old games it should be compared to games of its own era, HL also influencd Halo in many aspects thats why people consider it a better game, it revolutionized fps's , halo didnt

For console shooters, sure. I'd like to emphasize that for the multiplayer aspect..which really isn't that great alongside great PC multiplayer shooters. The franchise has/had pretty good campaign modes..but I probably wouldn't have played through them more than once had it not been for co-op.

Hilarious. More refined gameplay ? Halo 1 had such boring weapons it doesn't even come close to Halo 3. Deployable items, cooler vehicles, dual-wielding and more grenade types. Not to mention Multiplayer being 100 times better in any way possible.

Now before you all go jumping down my throat let me explain. The first Halo was widely accepted to be just as good as Half Life. (Even GS said it in a video review) Halo 2 was easily one of the best mutiplayer games ever when it came out, and Halo 3 surpass both those games in all ways. The reason why the Halo series is hated on so much is quite simple actually, it's the reason why emo music is hated on so much these days: because of popularity.

And the reason why Halo games are so popular is because of the quality. This has led to countless elitists who bash Halo games whenever possible because it's not a 10 year old game on the PC. The reality is that all Halo games have done a lot for console shooters.

And before someone brings up really old games, keep in mind that those games might have beengreat for their time but they are out dated in ever way possible compared to Halo 3.

Discuss :). Let's try and keep this as civil as possible.
