Halo reach is the best fps shooter.

Ever since I got halo reach. I have never been able to put it down. I'd say its the only fps shooter I will ever need for the rest of this generation. It has so much replay value. I dont think I will need to come back to system wars ever againbecause halo reach won the war for me.

This is why M$ said recently they are looking to get more FPS games on the console, and why the 360 is seen more as a shooter console despite games like Fable and Alan Wake existing....Besides, why should they invest in new IP's and games when they can throw out a Halo game every year or other year, and save a ton by paying for tiny timed exclusive DLC/3rd party games? :P

Halo Reach is doing it's job, for sure.

I do like Halo Reach (I'm a Warrant Officer Grade 1), but other gamers I have met playing Halo online find Halo Reach too basic and a bit of the same old thing they got since Halo 2 give or take gameplay wise. I have heard it's too much like the past Halo's, and those gamers prefer games like COD / GeoW instead.

Still, there is no denying it's fun, even if more Halo's were to be the same game for the next decade as well. It's a good formula....too bad this was Bungie's Last Halo game.

played reach have you? i have but haven't played counterstrike, so I wouldn't make a claim like that unless i had played both games fully Halo Reach is certainly the most fun FPS of this gen. I never got into the MP of Halo 3 or ODST, but can see myself getting into this one. its so satisfying killing the other team unlike many FPS's multiplayer. defo has a lot of features, forge world looks like it could provide a lot of content, though i have no idea what to do with it.

it has a campaign, daily challenges, customizable armor and infinitely more game modes.... i also was never big into the halo multiplayer until reach.

I haven't played Reach yet, but other Haloes have never done it for me, primarily because they seem to be very multiplayer focused and I near exclusively play single player. In this sense, I doubt it can even touch the genius of games such as Crysis, Stalker, HL2, and Bioshock.

The game kicks ass, but I don't know about best FPS shooter. This gen? hmm that's tough I guess. It's up there. Shadow of Chernobyl is certainly a better singular experience, as is Crysis before the aliens. Bioshock outside of its weak combat, and multiplayer wise TF2 has a lot going for it. Honestly though, it probably is the greatest all round package of any FPS on any system this gen. Great campaign, great multiplayer, great meta-game... devs would kill to be as feature packed and polished as this.

I didn't look through the thread but I have no doubt that even if this thread goes 25 pages all will agree... Halo Reach knocked off Halo 3 and now stands alone as the new King of the mountain. :twisted:

There's no denying that it's good, but it's not the best or anywhere near the best IMO.

I agree. Gameplay and graphics couldnt be better and the immense content is a great bonus! It has a few flaws like the fact that the story is not that great, but it´s easly funnest and most polished shooter i have ever played.

Before saying anything like this , give it few years . If even after 10 years it will be remembered as lets say HL , then you can make this statement . What is up with ppl going on hype and spamming "oooh this is the best game EVAAARRRRRRRRRRRR" . give it some time

Its a good game, The Multiplayer is the weakest part IMO. Its still run at people with the trigger down, with the biggest gun you can find. The games strengh is it customisation, you can create a endless amount of content.

The shooting is the same, the guns are still the same, the strategies are the same. Its allways nice being able to do custom Firefight match in a fortress you made though.

i will admit, the hype is huge for this game, and i may end up getting an x360 for this, of course at the end of this generation when it's dirt cheap and there are used copies of the game.

Pretty sure that gets you killed very easily in the game.
