And xbox fans want MS to take over the gaming industry? Genius, If that happens I'll just find a new hobby. If MS could get away with it they'd charge $50 a week for xbox live, it's all about the money with them. They don't care about gamers or the quality of games they produce as long as they can get people to buy them.
Depends on the amount of content. Could be a ripoff but at the same time it might be worth the value. So no one really knows yet.
They don't care about gamers or the quality of games they produce as long as they can get people to buy them. You think Sony cares about gamers? They're in it for the money. It's called running a business. And MS has more AAA and AA titles than the PS3, so what does that say about quality? Nevertheless, at least MS owned up to making a mistake with RROD and took a 1 billion dollar loss because they "care".gaboi09
You have become a lot more of a lemming lately. It is surprising, good old days when you were a manticore - now it's like that term doesn't even exist. But in all seriousness, $60 for this is a steal? Really? I think it's a lame attempt by Bungie. Halo has gone downhill since the first one. Good times. It's a full new open world sandbox campaign, co-op horde-like mode, and every single Halo 3 map ever. $60 is a steal.

People aren't caring about the price, it's the value. I think that the PS3 is overpriced, but I'm still happy with my purchase because value wise - it contained the ability to play my ps2 games, future ps3 games, watch blu-ray movies, store photos and music, browse the net. Hell if you like doing something that means a lot you can even have that Folding@home program on when you aren't playing.Who cares im still getting it & if u dont have a job start lookin cause $60 isn't that bad

They knowingly shipped the PS2 with faulty parts, and forced consumers to pay to fix it up until a class action lawsuit was filed multiple YEARS down the line in which they finally admitted that the PS2 had plenty of issues. Did they ever give those PS2 users a full refund who paid to have their PS2s fixed? No. :| Did Microsoft give their consumers a full refund when they paid to have their Xbox 360 fixed? Yes. Did Microsoft take a 1-billion dollar hit in order to give consumers protection? Yes.

They care a whole lot more than Microsoft. For that very reason, I haven't spent over $300 buying a wireless adapter, headset, and XboxLIVE just to play online. In fact, I haven't spent any money at all to play online wirelessly with a Motorola BlueTooth Headset.
That depends, is the campaign still 3-4 hours long? Juggernaut140We'll just have to see when it releases.

What part of "THIS GEN" did you not understand?mgs_freak91I was addressing your point on how MIcrosoft apparently "doesn't care about the consumer" and how it's incredibly baseless. If Microsoft didn't care about RROD, do you think they would take that one billion dollar hit with a THREE year warranty? :|
Its acceptable.
We have.
1.Nearly complete seperate game with as likely as much gametime as we saw in halo 3.
2.upgraded engine over halo 3's use.
3.A seperate disc containing the entire halo 3 multiplayer component meaning one does not have to own halo3 to play online.
4.Every single dlc released so far including the 2nd half of mythic map pack...
yeah that seems about worth 60 bux when the wii, 360 and ps3 have other games that aren't worth the plastic they are printed on for 50-60.

I never argued that Sony has never done the same, but i was targeting this gen as my example, if you want to bring in previous ones then their is no point, because i agree with you. And if you think about it - even if you give in an RROD'ed console to Microsoft, you still get a console that still has a more than normal chance of hardware failure.

Way to pull information out of thin air and pass it off as fact.
NO OTHER COMPANY WANTS MONEY they are all charitable organizations microsoft is the only company to EVER, EVER charge money for any thing. I know sony and Nintendo and pc developers care about me! they wrap me up tight in warm blankets! And xbox fans want MS to take over the gaming industry? Um except no? Its reported that the campaign of ODST will be as long as halo 3. lets see how much is including just on the odst disc it self. ""-Halo 3 ODST Campaign, which puts the player in control of different characters in New Mombasa during the events leading up to Halo 3. -Halo 3 ODST "Firefight" mode, "a new cooperative multiplayer* mode where up to four players can assume the role of an ODST squad and fight together to take on increasingly challenging waves of enemies." Also: "As an ODST squad, you will face increasingly challenging waves of enemies together, striving to earn the highest scores possible, while various "Halo 3" "Skulls" are progressively activated." (It sounds to us like Gears of War 2's Horde mode.)"" seems like alot...all so the common rumor on the net is 5-7 hours...which is about how long it took me my first night on legendary 7 hours of straight play to beat halo 3.-halo odst campaign add on 4-6 hours long
-it has 4 player co-op with new achievements and new skulls etc
-firefight, with 3 new original halo odst maps to fight on
-halo reach beta entree
-halo 3 multiplayer game
-the legendary and mythic maps, value of 20$
euh, this is already more than the average game on the market. sorry but i think it is a good price. and i think a lot of people agree, just the annoying dumb trollers don't

All the MP stuff is useless to me since I dont plan on renewing XBL gold.
I guess this is lemming's GT5 prologue. Go and defend your game as the cows have defended theirs!!!exiledsnake
That'd make sense except Halo 3 came out in 2007. Look up the word prologue and come back with a new insult, that one makes you look pretty silly.
On with the topic though, people payed the same for L4D and it had barly anything. COD4 had less content and people payed. Theres lots of games actually when you think about it. If you've already bought the H3 maps i could see it not being as much value as it is for those intelligent enough not to pay the outragous prices for map packs but ah well.

im sorry that you took it too seriously. im just saying that both are ripoffs compared to similar priced games. and the cows and lemmings will still defend them.I am really looking forward to this game. If the game is really fun and has great replay value like Left 4 Dead then I don't have any problems spending $60 on it.
If people don't want to spend that much money on it there is always the option of renting it or borrowing it from some who has it.
Well,
It's a good deal if you don't have any map pack after heroic.
But a bad deal for people like me who bought every map pack for full price.
So is this an expansion or a full game?clubsammich91I think it would be called ' Stand-alone Expansion'. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
[QUOTE="clubsammich91"]So is this an expansion or a full game?GANGSTASANI think it would be called ' Stand-alone Expansion'. Correct me if I'm wrong though.Microsoft no longer views it as an "expansion", hence the price tag is full priced. (you're correct in saying "stand-alone expansion" -- if it wasn't a stand-alone expansion, Halo 3 would be required to play it, and since you can play Halo 3 ODST without Halo 3, it;s standalone. ;) ).
After reading the preview and watching the gameplay video, I don't mind the price at all. I spend ALOT of money on video games anywayand was always prepared to shell out the cash for the "collectors edition". I'll probably pre-order mine pretty soon and I will be there at Midnight launch. What can I say, I love the Halo franchise and can't wait for the game.
I kind of wish I held out for the Mythic maps but it's still a good deal. 3 maps are $10 so I'm paying $50 for a new campaign that is open world and can play cooperatively. And there is now a co-op firefight mode which looks like a lot of fun.

its three NEW maps. Check out the achievements to Halo 3. Theres still Longshore and two others, those are being paskaged with ODST, not Orbital, Assembly, and Sandbox...
I kind of wish MS would have sold it for $40 or so so if it flops wil can hide behind the "well its just a simple expansion" argument :P
