So has anyone actually answered the question? Because I can think of quite a few.StatusShuffleYeah alot of people did. PC has more exclusives than all consoles combined this gen alone, and probably last gen too.
Incredible thread backfire, consolites have nothing left to do but lie.

He's one of the most annoying posters here. He never adds anything to a topic, much like the majority of his incredibly annoying ilk of Sony fanboys.Man, this guy needed attention real bad I guess...

I literally cannot believe what I am reading... Im flabbergasted, shocked and appalled at the hypocrisy around here.... OF COURSE consoles are different from PC and MAC and of course they are capable of different things, but you can argue all the tech jargon you want, the fact remains that PC and MAC are two different platforms, 2 sku's, two approaches, two products, two completely different OS's and thus multiplatform... How many countless and endless threads have I read over the past 5 years and longer on this website bi*ch slapping a game into the safe catagory of Multiplat so that nobodys feelings get hurt worse than they already are about a game or franchise. The fact is that there is a vastly different experience between the PC and MAC than there is between even the 360 and the ps3! NOBODY... not a single soul on earth looks at a Macbook and says, "wow thats a nice PC"... its a different platform and a different approach through its VASTLY different OS and functionality. Im sorry, but just when I think System Wars cannot POSSIBLY become more stupid and jaded about its rules and way we judge games and success (console exclusives dont count, Arcade games dont count... etc. etc.) someone comes along and blows my mind with just how shallow and illegitimate these "rules" really are. I have no problem with PC OR its competitor and different platform MAC and I love any machine that plays games, but when we start to take the blatantly obvious things that abide by the "rules" that we follow in here and alter them to fit our point and help us sleep at night, its more than a tad irritating. TheEroica
You are correct.
Hardware/OS/Upgradeable/Open/Closed are all irrelevant in isolation.
Either you can play it as is on your existing solution or you have to invest more money to buy another solution. Whether that 2nd investment is S/W or H/W or both is irrelevant. The supposed whole point of exclusive is that it provides an incentive to buy that one and only solution in order to play the game. If more than one solution is available then it is a multiplat. If a MAC version exists there is no incentive to buy a windows PC. Just like if there is a PS3 version there is no reason to buy a 360.
The problem is rooted in the past of SW which has tradionally compared a category of product (the broad version definition of PC) vs a specific brand of a different category of product (PC vs 360, PC vs Wii, PC vs PS3). Logically it should have always been PCs vs Consoles (category vs category), but hermits have always been protected from this as a means of including them in this forum.
It's a PC but then Wii, PS3 and 360 would be counted as one (console) as well.A mac is not a fuggin PC

It turned in to an idiotic debate about if mac and PC (windows) are different platforms and thus any PC exclusive also on Mac OsX is actually multiplat.
[QUOTE="Pray_to_me"]That's what I been tryin to get across. Even got a sticky thread made because of it. :P The modern lingo is pc=windows Mac=OS Two competing systems. This cannot be refuted. Are you two stupid? They are both Personal Computers aka PC's. A Mac is no different than Dell calling their line of computers Alien Ware.
If I build a computer and don't run windows and run Linux does it magically not become a PC? I swear some of you clowns need to be smacked

You don't understand "lingo" do you? No one is saying they aren't personal computers. But in your everyday conversation, "Hey man...you gotta Mac or a pc?". Nobody says, "I own a Windows computer." Thats just how the slang evolved. I did a little test, and asked the 3 IT folks here at work, what is the first thought that pops in their head when they hear PC...and very single on said either Windows or Microsoft. Sorry man, you can change the rules of SW, but you can't change the world and what definitions people associate with words. Next, try and convince me how Windows and OS aren't competing systems.soon you will be no more. just a shadow of a memory. when we post, we don't have to worry about being butthurt. no more jelly, no more!!!! the day has come.

No. That would be like me trying to claim that all Xbox 360 games a multiplatform because I have a launch Xbox 360 that I refused to connect to the internet and thus it has the original firmware. Largely a different operating system at this point. It would also be like me saying all PC games are multiplatform because PC games run on Windows XP/Vista/7/8... Or, all PC games are multiplat because I have different hardware in my PC than anyone else...
Because of the nature of the PC, defining it as anything other than a Personal Computer (whether by distinguishing operating system or hardware) would sort of make it impossible to count as a platform.

Well, unfortunately for you, System Wars doesn't define the platforms by "lingo." Because if it did than all three systems would be called Nintendos' because amongst the general populace game consoles are called Nintendos'quite a lot.
Seeing as we had the Witcher 2 from last year wwhich was a AAA Pc exclusive, and we going to have guild wars 2 this week as well, and Planetside 2 is comming out in the winter. All AAA means is high production values, ye theres been a decline of them in recent years on the pc, but theres still plently of AAA exclusives coming out on PC.
I was poking around Metacritic and noticed, in it's "All Time" section, that the pc seemed to only have one AAA scoring exclusive since 1998. The title being "Thief," sitting at a 92. Is this right?

But only a few games can actually be played on MAC OS... I can also play emulator of consoles, those that make console exclusive list non existent?
I've been looking up most of the games that have been mentioned throughout this thread, and practically all of them have an OS version. But it's also on 360.Seeing as we had the Witcher 2 from last year wwhich was a AAA Pc exclusive, and we going to have guild wars 2 this week as well, and Planetside 2 is comming out in the winter. You'll need to list to games aswell... because it's a very limited librairy, hence why I use Windows to play games and not MAC.

I've been looking up most of the games that have been mentioned throughout this thread, and practically all of them have an OS version.Practically all of them have an "OS version"? You mean an "Operating System version"? You do realize that's what OS stands for, correct? And no, the "modern lingo" is not "pc=windows Mac=OS" Windows and Mac both =OS, and the only people (besides you, and a few others in the last few days, here) who have ever tried to claim that Mac=/=PC are the marketing execs at Apple computers.

? What? I just said pretty much all of them have an OS version. :( So no, can't admit anything. I mentioned Thief because I legitimately couldn't find an OS version of it. And this whole thread started because I asked a question. Not because I was making a claim. I do think, that, herms as a whole, need to admit that the term "exclusive," is something that is very rare in the computer gaming community. Please Log In to post.
