@skelly34:

Bayonetta is casual? LMAO it has nowhere near the numbers to be casual. A casual player would simply pound buttons and then stop.

Bloodborne is casual? Please stfu thats absolute nonsense. You may suck at the PVP but the PVP is actually very solid and still has a very active community in what is one of the highest rated games of the year. The casual player wouldn't get past the first hour.

Gow is casual? I would love to see a casual player platinum GoW 3.

You don't even know the definition of casual. Casual games are those that entice those that rarely play games to pick them up because they are easy and accessible to those who CASUALLY play games. You pretty much destroyed your argument when you admitted all MOBAS but one are casual. The competitive scene has nothing to do with how hardcore are casual it is. Games with strong competitive scenes require popularity and large sponsors. MADDEN has a extremely competitive scene yet it is also extremely casual.

Too.. much... wrongness... can't breathe....

I was pretty good at DKSI + II PvP which was a lot better and tactical than the horrible bloodvial spamming mess that is BB, the community is dying extremely quickly after realizing how terrible its PvP and chalice dungeons are (look it up), it is quickly becoming a bigger letdown than DKSII was in the eyes of its fanbase and the game is actually pretty fucking easy so a casual could easily pass the first hour.

Phew.. got that out of my system.

I liked bayo and GoW, but I don't see how they do not "entice those that rarely play games to pick them up because they are easy and accessible" as I would certainly call them "easy" and "accessible" Games that are not easy and accessible are Dota2, Starcraft, Civ and Space Engineers.

As for the last part, I disagree wholeheartedly, gamers are hardcore not the games themselves. A game can't be hardcore unless players deem that it is and then PvP in some form. Difficulty =/= hardcore. Sure, an easy game can be popularized and competitive, but they won't be recognized like Starcraft and Dota 2 unless they have a high skill ceiling. LoL E-sports is dying and HotS isn't going to have one, this is the fate of competitively popularized games that require no skill. So don't try to use my admitted opinion of LoL and HotS to drag down other legitimate competitive games.

So I'm calling bullshit on that, YOU don't know the definition of competitive.

Oh please you got a dose of truth and decided to speak out of your ass.

You can make bloodvials worthless how in the **** have you not figured that out by now? And no most casuals won't get past Father Gasgnose! I know because I know bro gamer's who play nothing but COD and Madden and BB kicked there ass. You are comparing its difficulty from those who play the DS series but those are not casual players. It is not a casual series.

And although Bayonetta and GOW may be easy to pickup but they do not entice casuals. Casuals will not master those games and most will set them down. You are talking about dozens of different button prompts and most are not going to continue playing it.

LOL and you talk about SC high skill ceiling? LOL FAIL!!!! it was so popular because Koreans went crazy for the game. It didn't change the fact that the ZERG swarm was the go to strategy for years because it was terribly balanced . And LoL still is the largest E-sport right now so wtf are you talking about its dying? Im sure it will get less popular as more MOBAS come but that casual MOBA has a extremely large competitive scene and makes more money then any PC game. You are also delusional if you think HoTS isn't going to have an E-League considering its sponsored by Blizzard.

You want the definition of competitive? Try Ultra SF or Guilty Gear XRD.

1: You just exposed yourself as Jankarops other alt. Mobas require very little skill. If controlling one character with 4 hotkeys is hard for you please never try a fighting game. The games are extremely casual and easy to play. The difference between good players and bad ones is good ones know how to communicate vs bad ones who continue to troll. But the actual skill in the game is pitiful.

Ah so if I challenged you to beat a pro League or DoTA 2 player 1v1 you could do it right? Since there's nothing to it, obviously you have a 50/50 chance, right?

L O fucking L.

MOBA may be simplified RTS but it's still one of the most complex and competitive genres out there, with more nuance and depth to them than nearly any other type of game on the market.

And the 4 hotkeys thing is hilarious. Only an ultra scrublord plays League or DoTA or Heroes with only pressing buttons for the 4 primary abilities.

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.

After reading the bolded I realize that you really don't have a clue. Actually play the PC games you're BM'ing and read an article or two on the state of E-sports and then perhaps someone will care about your opinion.

League of Legends IS for kids, but console games are for babies.

As much as LoL is a joke, I still respect it's high MMR difficulty more than any console game.

@AM-Gamer:

In other words, you're either inexperienced or casual enough to think that fighter games have a higher skill ceiling than RTS and I don't want to waste my time talking to you. You've probably never even played an RTS if you really think that. That starcraft nitpick was desperate move by a desperate man.

No console game will ever have a higher skill ceiling than an RTS, not even fighters. It's a factually-proven, factual fact.

Aw, don't call out on my meltdown... I'm not the one typing in caps and flinging insults about like a psychotic boar. Go back to /v/

Regardless not every RTS has a higher skill ceiling then every fighting game. That's more opionated babble not a fact. Learn the difference.

@AM-Gamer: And not every fighting game is the same in skill ceiling. If you were to compare the top 25 competitive RTS to the top 25 competitive fighters, then RTS would win in each rank and overall.

Bahaha, I think that last post encapsulated your entire argument strategy.

> Just because some low-skill RTS may have a lower skill ceiling than some Fighters means that RTS is not higher in skill than fighters overall.

> Because fighters (the most competitive console genre) may be harder than MOBAs (the most casual PC genre) means that consoles are just as competitive as PC if not more.

Compare the worst of PC to the best of consoles. That's some Grade-A shitposting and damage control.

Stop having a meltdown, it's you vs the world. You've demonstrated how little you know of competitive gaming and now you're quickly resorting to desperate arguments.

There are competitive fighters with higher levels of technical/mechanical skill than most RTS games. In particular: Melee. Many Melee pros have APM bursts equivalent to that of pro SC2 players; pretty impressive considering they're using just their thumbs and index fingers on a GC controller. And for fighters in general I do think there's a higher emphasis on reading your opponent than in the majority of competitive RTS games.

Overall, obviously competitive RTS games in general have a higher skill ceiling than competitive fighters in general. And I'd definitely argue that fighters have a higher skill ceiling than MOBAs. But there are just a lot of categories of skill for these different genres that it's hard to compare.

That's what I was saying earlier, the skill required in RTS, Fighters and MOBAs are almost incomparable, but he's claiming that fighting games are higher skill than RTS, which is wrong.

I respect melee and SF as two high skill ceiling fighting games, I even watched a couple tourneys. though the reason RTS has a higher skill ceiling is because RTS theoretically has an infinitely high skill ceiling. RTS is all about strategy and an ever mutating meta that mixes everything up all the time. On the other hand you could easily measure how good a player is in a fighter by his reflexes and win rate.

I disagree about reading your opponents, though. Scouting and predicting what an enemy is doing is 50% of the battle.

Well, as far as SC2 goes, you think wrong.

You didn't read your opponent's build order and didn't counter it in time = u ded.

There's god-tier micro for a safety net, but it can only help you so much.

@skelly34: lol they are? MKX just came out so it's to early to tell and Smash Bros is nowhere near the most popular fighting game.

And DoA is easier then MKX.

@Vaasman: Funny but your hermit brethren seem to disagree even admitting LoL is for kids. It's ok be because it is.

Could I beat a pro league players 1v1? As long as I picked the shittiest most op-ed and unbalanced champs I'm sure I could. You can blabber all you want the game requires 4 hotkeys and a few more if you want to use skillshot items. It's fucking simple PERIOD!

Jesus **** you're an absolute dipshit. Starting out you wouldn't even stand a single iota of a chance against ME, a midrange plat player, much less a pro player. You could pick whatever champ you want, I'd even tell you how to build, and you'd still get utterly demolished like any other trash talking noob.

Please never talk again, it's just beyond pathetic that you even think you have a fucking clue what you're talking about.

Mortal Kombat, Tekken, not-melee-smash and Injustice are all more popular or becoming more popular than SF.

Those are all stupid easy and the fighter that often brings in the biggest crowd for competitive events is Marvel vs Capcom, while SF (the highest skill fighter) is largely ignored in that regard.

Your poor argument has exploded back in your face.

@R10nu: I'm not backpedaling my PC just isn't capable now and I haven't decided if I will build another. I'm from the US . Regardless I will gladly play you I. any fighting game of your choice on PS4.

I've played Dota 2 on integrated graphics with no problems, so i find it hard to believe that your PC's not capable of playing it.

What fighting games have to do with your statements on MOBAs and me challenging you to prove them?

Don't change topics, don't backpedal.

Are standing up to me, or are you backing off?

The gameplay in heroes of the storm is kind of boring as hell. I'm not even good at Dota 2 (on the contrary, quite garbage), but that game is inherently more interesting. It was fun to see some Starcraft characters, but beyond that, meh.

It's a moba for people who don't like mobas. They took out all need for farm, items, pokes and lane control. Now it's all about map objectives and teamfights. Each game will invariably end before 30 minutes and it's by far the most simplified Moba.

It's really just another blizz cash cow that some super loyal fans will buy into to give blizz hat revenue. I have about as much respect for it as I do smash bros brawl

pretty much cements the fact that he doesn't know shit about Dota.

But i'm not just gonna assume all of his statements are deceitful, would i?
