How?Microsoft have so many contests such as just by downloading their gamerpics/themes. I got some from that and a Microsoft eprize promotion they had. Won some points too. That's why I prefer points than "real" money, since lots of companies gives out MS points like they're not "real" money. The ads on the dashboard aren't all ads, most of them are contests.[QUOTE="gago-gago"]

$250 over the course of 5 years is nothing. This is not news, nor is it 'ownage' of any type. musicalmacAgreed. I've put 35.00 of gas in my car every week, and have had the car for 6 years, yet I don't regret buying the car. I enjoy Xbox Live, and if it is something I'm willing to pay for then so be it.

Why people keep compraing actual things to paying for Live is mind baffling to me. Gas is an actuall valuable product, Live is online play. I'ts not JUST the price and the amount of money you've wasted, it's where it went, and what you got back. That gas money gave you something that wasn't free anywhere else, Live is like charging you to put your seatbelts on, and you HAVE to use your seatbelt or else you can't go out on public streets.
Yes, all 360 games are in fake HD rite? And no PS3 game is in native 1080p rite? And yea, XBL costs too much.[QUOTE="chaplainDMK"][QUOTE="AiurProtoss"]How does it feel to play your games in sub-HD to 720p with little to no AA and had to dish out 600 dollars for your system??AiurProtoss
Im coming from this as a PC gamer, laughing a people trying to bash each others sytems and jsut pointing out the faults. TC is bashingon Live when he has paid for a system that cant run games past 720p. He is trying to bas on people "OMG 250 DOLLARS AHAHAHAAAA" assuming that everyone that has a 360 has had live for 5 years. real smart huh?
I don't get it so every PS3 game that do run at 720p isn't.?
Last time i check there were even 1080p native games on PS3,720p by the ton,so i don't get where you get that idea, even more when the xbox 360 is also full of sub HD games.
my first year i got the xboxlive messenger pack for 69.99 it came with mic, typing pad,12 months of gold, and pgr4. i took the sealed copy of pgr4 back to wal-mart and got a 40 dollar gift card :) this year i got a 12 month card off amazon for 38 bucks.I've paid for 3 years of XBL. 40 - 40 - 45.

i don't play online, but if i did 50 pounds a year is a bargain, i pay 85 pounds a month for my TV,phone and internet, virgin XXL for the win.delta3074
you don't play online?
i only play online everynow and then, and i enjoy every minute of it.
playing uncharted 2 online is a blast and i'm thinking about getting modern warfare 2 or or something.

How is this thread stil alive? It's this simple.
If in your opinion paying $60 or so a year is worth it, then that's cool, if not that's also cool. Why do you guys care what other people use THEIR money on?

how do xbox 360 gamers feel about paying $250 for xbl? since 2005?
some 360 fanboys actually thanked microsoft for raising the price of xbl to $60.CuteCakes
That's not a good point at all. You have no option but to pay for Live if you want to play online. You don't need PSN+ to have online as its already free.
I don't pay $250 to have XBL. I usually go with the 3 month membership and then another after 3 months have gone by. I don't mind it since what i am paying is very good quality. I like playing Halo 3, COD4, GRAW (there are still some people on it) and Gears of War online. And like getting demos to see if like a game that i might be interested in or not. And there are many other great features on it too. Its good deal. But i think its completely unnecessary to raise the price.

Thing is, on the PS3 you can play your favourite games online as well. And you can download demos as well. All for free. So I don't know why people call XBL a 'good deal' when you can get the same for nothing elsewhere.I don't pay $250 to have XBL. I post on another forum as well, and there people even sayed that they charge because that money go's into the pockets of the guys who makes firmware upgrades, and add funtionalities.
Making facebook for 360 cost money,so MS has to charge, but they don't get that making facebook for PS3 also cost money and sony charge me nothing.
On live you are chargeto be allowed to connect to other players using your won connection which you already pay for, hosting games on your own ISP without MS investing a cent, since most games are P2P,which we all know will always had teh host advantage problem.
The rise of price on reported by Mayor Nelson him self, show how mad was the community about the rise in price,MS is just getting the 4 billion they loose last gen and the 1 they loss this one on RROD out of 360 fans pockets, and they just don't care,
They believe every single word MS say about superiority which in this case is just cross game chat,so while people are charge more for facebook, sony made Home which is not the greatest thing ever, but at least is game related, you can play mini games win stuff, and all free,i think it cost sony more to make Home that it cost MS facebook, twitter, last FM and netflix apps, hell it probably cost more to sony than what MS spend running live.
I described it well in GUFU and repeating it here would get me a slapping from the mods. Let's just say it's a wonderful euphoric feeeling.Floppy_Jim

Imagine if Jesus himself were to perform a certain act on you....only that can match the joy of paying for XBL. I'd seriously get modded if I elaborated on that :P
But to seriously answer your question: Live is a rip off and yet a drop in the ocean compared to money I've spent this gen in total. If I had to pick a "feeling" it would be....exasperated. I know it's a rip off but I know I'm going to keep paying for it so it's wasted effort to complain.

i choose to pay for things i want, it's as simple as that.
once again the "i don pay for free stuff" crowd fails to realize everything you pay for is free in it's raw form you are paying for the refinement that makes it more useful.
whether it's the metal in your car or the water pumped into your home it's out there for free, you pay for it to be more useful to you.

Online play isnt much of an option IMO. You would be losing much of the system"s features. PSN+ is an option. Its a discount plan, nothing more.
Plus I could take a little worse FREE service than 60 dollar, a little better one. And no, I dont care for cross game chat.
PSN essentialy does for free what XBL does a little better for 60 bucks.
