Good luck being the guy barking at traffic then.;)I didn't buy it and neither am I buying anything published or made by Activision. I refuse to give that stinking company a penny of my money. I laugh at 9 million people. Their so easy and thats why Activision can make money off them. Tools.

I was planning on buying it, then stuff happened and I was planning on buying it used for 360, then I realized it wouldn't be worth the price even if stuff wouldn't have happened, so now I'm not really planning on buying it at all. Unless maybe I can find it used and cheap. Like $30 or some such.
I didn't buy it. I wouldn't say i'm particularily proud about it though. I'm not talking to or about anyone but the whole "proud" thing seems a little loserish imho.
Why would you buy crap for noobs then? Just go away troll.I actually would have picked it up for the PC had the servers not been thrown out. Still, CoD hasn't been the great game it once was since CoD and maybe CoD2.
MW was crap for noobs.

MW is crap. AI bots roaming the battlefield killing for players; martyrdom; no kick on the rifles; absurd dmg model; perks that are essentially legal hacks; yeah, MW is for noobs. I picked it up because it was the first CoD made by IW since CoD 2, which was a decent game.
Still, it's sad what FPS games have become as a general rule. In CoD 4 I bet less then 25% of my deaths were from actual weapon fire from a player. It was a chopper or splash dmg.
CoD has become a game for FPS players that either don't know any better or can't succeed at a game that requires skill. I am willing to bet you're still in high school.

75% of the time you die from events other than enemy fire... and you tell him cod is for bad fps players... yep, this makes total sense /sarc

Yep, either an AI bot or splash dmg from grenade spam. It makes perfect sense; thus the reason I suggest CoD MW fans don't have a clue.

and im suggesting that you suck at fps, gredade spam is less of an issue in this one than the last cod anyways, as far as i have seenI didn't get it because I didn't want it.
No big deal, that's the case with the vast majority of games ever made.

Rolling up 7 kills was easy and then you can just keep the ball rolling and help your team while not even relocating that much. Near zero kick on the weapons. Playing on the PC helps (when there were dedicated servers) because you could play games with FF on and not have to worry about team killers. Hardcore mode does help with the damage model, though.
Still, the game is a noob fest and a cluster ****. You need to go back to older games like the original CoD and games like Counter Strike and Counter Strike Source. I have trouble going back too far because of the eye pain, though.

It's very easy to shoot from the hip and very easy to use rifles at medium to long range. I miss that old MP44. Next to zero kick does not mean no kick.
Also, can you understand what you read? I said a % of my deaths, not that I die all the time. Sheesh, pay attention. The vast majority of my deaths were not from fire fights or direct enemy fire but rather indirect splash dmg or AI bots.
Your inability to comprehend what you read only reinforces my beliefe that fans of MW are clueless.
I bought it and im not ashamed of it.
60 dollars for MW2 or some other game it really makes no difference. Money well spent imo.

I believe at some point the pendulum will swing back the other way and that games that suit my desires will again become common practice.
Still, one should never be ashamed of buying a game they like, I just hate you for it. Not in a personal way but in more of a figure of speech way. I hate what CoD has become and wish I wasn't in the vast minority.
MW is crap that caters to Halo generation FPS players.

Shooting from the hip gives vastly reduced accuracy, what exactly do you mean by its easy to shoot from the hip? And its easy to use rifles at medium to long range, that is the general purpose of a rifle, medium to long range, im not sure what your point is.And the % of my deaths and all my friends deaths from kill streaks and explosives (203 aside since thats a hand held weapon) is far far far far far far below %75, while i have no idea what it actually is, i would say less than %10? So there must be something lacking in your ability to play cod... that or your pulling that number out of thin air, trying to convice yourself that you dont like mw2 either because you like having an elitist attitude, or that since everyone else is buying mw2 you need to rebel and go against the grain...

The good news is that like film, books and music where there is a huge mass produced market that caters to popular culture, there are still a few devs, writers, film studios out there innovating, trying new things, taking risks and focussing on creating art not fads.

I do have an elitist attitude towards CoD. In the original game shooting from the hip was a bad idea and only reserved for panic type situations; though it was never as difficult as CS. It struck a nice balance between realism and action oriented game-play. Over all accuracy is easy to obtain in MW. The rifle, relative to other, more hardcore shooters, is very, very easy.
I do not feel the need to be a rebel and go against the grain I think it's a bad game, period. Though I do see CoD as pop culture crap for TDM players. Lacking ability to play CoD, gah, that makes me sad. How I wish for a return to the original game and the intensity it brought to MP gaming. From great community servers to disciplined game-play that focused on fire fights, not splash dmg foolishness.

I take it your a fan of Mirror's Edge and Damnation?I take it your a fan of Mirror's Edge and Damnation? dark-warmachine
Actually no... Damnation was simply woeful and Mirrors edge just bored the crap outta me. Nothing in recent years has really tickled my fancy except for the completely outta no-where Demons Souls.
I am no fan of Activision either and you can say what you want about Infinity Ward, but MW2 is simply an extremely well made blast of a game. I had my doubts and have been critical of it as well, but I am quite happy I bought it. As Activision was going to make a fortune regardless if I bought the game or not, so I decided I was not going to let my spite for Bobby Kotick and the antics of Activision stop me from enjoying one of the years best games. Hey, to each their own, though.

Someone out there has to see the opportunity to capitalize on the those that feel disenfranchised by shooters these days. No, they won't sell as many games, but they can make good money and make a name for themselves while gaining a hardcore and dedicated fan base.
The door is open, someonewill step through it. As for my hopes for games that we know are coming I am looking at Bad Company 2. The first one was fun and the second being on the PC I hope it will offer some balanced battlefield game-play. I pound the ground with an AR in BF games (BF2 was, is, awesome) but I don't mind splash dmg and such in that game; it fits the concept while the first CoDwas focused on platoon sized fire fights. I have respect for that awesome fighter or chopper pilot in BF, not for the guy (yeah, I admit I did it) that would camp if need to be to roll up enough kills to get arty or air support in CoD. You can help your team complete and objective without ever moving.
Ahh, this thread is full of elitist BS. Yeah, we that bought the game are less of ____than those that didn't. It's a video game, not the battle for equal rights. Real noble work your doing guys. I play games because they are fun. cainetao11Seconded, agreed, and just general applause for a good post.....

I have always enjoyed the "sport" of FPS games. To me they are serious fun; as in I take my fun seriously. I am not suggesting they are a sport but I am talking about the spirit of skill based competition. I see CoD as a slap happy, run around drunk with your shirt off grabing girls by the ass axe body spray commercial, mess of a game.
[QUOTE="Merex760"]
I'll buy it when it's on sale in a year. Bad Company 2, now that's a game I'll buy day one.
ironcreed
No harm in enjoying both. I am looking forward to the BETA, got my code today.
Is that received through a pre-order? Is the beta on the PC? If it's not received via pre-order how did you get your hands on it?
Whatever happened to the simply concept of fun, enjoyment, having a good time. If you like the style of the game then buy it, have a good time, enjoy yourself. This is after all the point of this grand old hobby of ours. You like video games (hopefully) because they entertain you.
.
If you dislike the style of play then power too you. Nothing wrong with having an opinion of your own, that you can voice in a mature way and which isnt boiled down to a tantrum.
.
If you however are holding out, bashing the game, and acting like a teen that just discover the implications of oral then I would argue you reevaluate your reasons for having this hobby.....
