I find Halo games to be distasteful as they don't appeal to me, but I don't "hate" them. There shouldn't be a reason to "hate" a game, and if there is, you're only hurting yourself.

BTW its actually 200,000 people at Rush hour each day. On the whole Halo 3 hits between 700,000 and 1,000,000 unique players a day! :P

When you own a console as cheap as a 360, bought a game like Halo 3 with it, and then realize that you just wasted $59.99...I'm pretty sure you'd be in extreme denial and play that game all the time, as well.

cod4 stole my frag time away from halo as soon as i got it. after i quit playing that, i just never picked up another online game and let my gold account run out. id like a new good fps this year,(cod6) but nothing has been annouced yet.

Halo is the definition of a great game. Sure it's not the best game ever, but in terms of FPS games it's the best. Every game is compared to it, no game matches it. It's a very successful franchise, tons of people play it, it's got great reviews all around.

People that hate it either don't own the game, really sucked badly at the game so they went back to CoD4, or they are cows.

The only thing I like about Halo 3 is the theatre and custom maps. Otherwise, it sucks.

LOL.....yeah the Doom's and Half-Lifes of the world had nothing to do with it.

People can spout off about reviews, sales, etc etc but that is largely due to hype and marketing. When you look at the facts about the game itself, you find a game that does almost nothing new and does almost nothing to set itself apart from other shooters.

Halo 3 is merely a sequel that cashed in on previous games success, nothing more nothing less.

There are only two first-person shooters on PC that I enjoy more than Halo 3, and those are Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

Halo on consoles rocks.

I only like the first Halo. The other two were both really disappointing to me. Especially 3.

Halo 3 sucks, not as bad as 2, but way worse than 1.

100million people could play crap in a box, doesnt make it a great game.

The thing is, Halo 3 didn't have sales only.

It was inordinately hyped because Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved rocked. Halo 3 was guaranteed to sell extremely good and it was expected to be a very great game.

So, Halo 3 had sales, yes, but it also scored AAA on big sites and across all reviewers' opinions, it's a critically acclaimed AAA game.

You can hate it, but Halo 3 didn't just sell millions. It was the most played game in 2007, 2008, 1B matches have been played, it was praised by critics and it's still popular because of its addictive, celebrated multiplayer.

That's what separates Halo 3 from other games that have sold millions, like Wii Play, Wii Fit.

Anyway, keep hating Halo 3 and keep believing that we say Halo 3 is good only due to its sales. I'll be laughing at you.

Halo is easy, has an epic story and its gameplay is very good. Everything about it is good, especially Master Chief. He rocks. Halo 3 isn't as good as the original, but it's still a good game that offers a lot.

and sencondly, I personally don't like Halo because it's overrated. True, it's a they are fun games sometimes (NOT including Halo Wars) but when you look at the games and then look at all of the attention it gets, it just doesn't match up. There are tons and tons and tons and TONS of better FPSs out there. Plus, when outsiders of the gaming world look at us, the first game they see is Halo, as if Halo is the game that represents the gaming industry just because it's so succesful. Why can't a better game be there? One that isn't just all about running and gunning? What I'm saying is that Halo doesn't deserve a fraction of the attention it gets.

Why? ...because I don't like a popular game and think it is overrated and mainly popular because it was the first big time console fps?

I do not enjoy Halo. I never have. I have never finished any of them (didn't play 2 though). I never liked Resistance much either, didn't finish either of those.

I loved CoDs but got them all for my PC because I prefer mouse and keyboard. Killzone is the first exclusive console shooter I have absolutely loved because it feels more like a PC shooter and less like the floaty, aim assist, twitch fest that is the Halo series.

Oh, and before you say "yeah right you've never played them, you're a cow blah blah blah" I figured I'd head you off at the pass.

I love both my systems pretty much equally. I'm currently splitting my gaming time between Star Ocean 4 and Killzone 2 with some MLB The Show thrown in. I simply do not like Halo. I think it is the most overrated fps of all time. I think it came by at the perfect time, was a good fps and it opened the floodgates. The more people that played it, the more people that played it. Games that are incredibly popular become even more popular despite themselves because plenty of people want to play the "in" game and get in on that action. There's nothing wrong with that.

I simply dislike the game, the story, the entire universe and have never "gotten it". I'm sorry.
