Not really, unless you enjoy the console exclusives that 360 gets -- the racing games, fighting games, etc. I'd go with the pc in a heartbeat, but that's just my personal preference. Kb/m support, mods, better graphics, free online, cheaper games -- and the pc gets its own great exclusives too. You can also build a decent gaming rig for around $600, so it's not that expensive.
I went the pc instead of 360 route, but hey, different strokes for different folks.
if i've played all PS3's AAAs on my xbox whats the reason to own ps3?Burnout_Player0
Cheap blu-ray :(
if you feel like waiting 1 or 2 years than go ahead
personally i like playing halo 3, and mass effect now as opposed to waiting 2 years
plus if you play online halo 3 for xbox360 is a must considering you will have access to amuch larger community of fans to play online with..

Well you could always get the 360s other great exclusives, Gears and Bioshock. Oh wait.taikthebate
Name me one person who's playing Gears of War on the PC. Name me one that was playing it last Nov., when it came out. Nothing? Hmm, well, how many people were playing Halo 2 a few years ago on the PC? And how many will be playing Halo 3 within the next year? None??
Besides that, if games like Dead Rising, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Forza, etc. don't appeal to you, then no,there's no reason for you to own a 360, since you clearly don't like the 360's games. For those of us who do, however, there's no reason to own a gaming PC. ;)
It depends how much you want these games.
If all I wanted on the PS3 was MGS4 which was going to end up on the PC in a couple years (lets say for arguments sake), your saying I'd be better off with a PC? Even if I desperatley want the game? Just letting the PS3 version sit on the shelves because it may eventually get ported?

I love it when cows talk goodexclusives, since they're NOT GETTING ANY FOR MONTHS! Enjoy our one year old 360 ports.
With PC gaming, anything can go wrong, such as programs conflicting and system requirements. With consols, it's ether the disc or the system.Legendaryscmt
It's been almost a decade since I last saw one of those problems, except for random scratched discs errors. Unless you're trying to run a dos game in windows vista. :)
And console gamming is far from problem free.

I'm quite positive that nobody is refering to those games as "Crappy" Although, you did imply that said games warhawk, Heavenly Sword, R&C, Infamous, Uncharted, FFXIII, and MGS4 were reviewed AAA, he was just pointing out the flaws in your argument.
I'd prefer not to wait to play a port of an X-box 360 game on my PC when I could just play it on the 360 months, sometimes years earlier.
Besides, how many games that are on the PC would have been PC only if it werent for Microsoft pushing for a 360 release? You see, the only downfall to owning a 360 (Games related) is that some games are on the PC also, and if you don't care about exclusivity, then there is no downside to the 360's game lineup.

Well technically you can hook up a 360/ps3 controller to your PC and use it for games and I am already using an HDTV as my pc monitor. The only thing that makes me want a 360 is the games and the price but the turn offs are the failure rate, PCs price in comparison and the fact that its best games will probably end up on the PC and will look and run better.
Lately I've been contemplating whether or not I should buy a 360 and after listening to the recent Hotspot podcast I realised Mass effect is more than likely going to be ported to the PC as kotor was and Halo 1 and 2 are already on the Pc so there's really nothing stopping them from releasing halo 3 on the Pc too. And then I thought if all of the 360s big games (bioshock, Halo 3, Mass effect, Gears) end up going to the PC is there any point in owning a 360 or am I just better off buying a high end PC. I will probably end up getting the 360 because a good pc is expensive but do you guys think MS is making a wrong move by porting all of its big titles to another platform?MGS9150
Games going to the PC has no play in why I don't want a 360. I don't want a 360 because of the design flaw. Please save the retard "but teh 3 year warrenty" comments. I plan on playing my system for more than 3 years, plus I don't want to have to keep sending my system in for repairs even if it is free.
Two games - two reasons to own the 360.
When PC has those two old ones - 360 gamers may be playing the new ones !
1) Gears2
2) M.E. 2
I buy now b/c i cant stand to wait !!!!
Give me todays newspaper - you can have yesterdays. ;)

I'm not trying to say that for PC gamers there's no reason to own a PC, I'm trying to say that for fans of console games, PC games don't really measure up (PCs favor FPS and RTS and lack a lot of Japanese developer support, consoles are just the opposite). Personally I'm not that interested in Crysis, so for me that wouldn't be a system seller even if it was on one of the consoles.

Honestly, if you're going to go through all the trouble of hooking up your PC to your TV, and using one of the 360 USB controllers for the computer, you're essentially playing a console. The only difference is that you traded a less expensive, easier to use console for a more expensive, more complex one.
Which one's better? That's a value judgement. As someone already pointed out, you buy a PS3/360 game, you know it'll work on your system. You buy a PC game, you can have conflicts (Vista incompatibilty, DX versions, graphics card, processor, etc.). This isn't to say that either one is a better way to play games, but some people like knowing that what they buy will always work on the system they have. Others like to tinker with their system and improve it, so that it will play the games they have better, and be able to potentially play games they haven't bought yet.
But really, even if the PC and 360 shared all games, there'd still be an argument for owning each one.

Trouble? If you have wireless internet at home it's easier to hook your pc to a TV than a console.

No there isn't the pc is better flat out. Looks better, plays better, controls better and is completely customizable. No reason to game on a console over a PC if all the games were the same.

Most of the 360s best games plus PC exclusive, with a controller to play games like RE4? I'll take PC.

Honestly pc gaming hasn't been a nightmare since windows XP. Windows XP simplifies everything to the extreme. The PC not only offers less problems, but is easier to play games on than consoles. I doubt the 100million people who bought the sims are all PC geniuses.

*sighs* Really? So you're telling me that all gaming PCs run Bioshock better than the 360? You're telling me that all people who play videogames prefer kb/m to a controller (this is where the "controls better" comes from, I'm assuming?). You're telling me everyone who plays videogames would rather keep their PC streamlined and running quickly (weekly maintenance, defragging, deleting unused files, etc.) than just let their PC go to hell, and pop in a 360 disc?
Be serious. Just because you prefer it, doesn't mean everyone does. Some people don't have any interest in "customizing" their system; they just want to play games. As I said earlier, just because you have enough knowledge of computers, time, desire, etc.,doesn't mean everyone does.

ROFL. Checking system requierments - 10 seconds, patches not always nessacary and about a few minutes, you can get DVD version, video settings take me about two minutes, and bugs are in 360 games.
