Nostalga is the key word. They are great games but as for your comment about them not being AAA, GS's scoring is crap. I never know what to expect when it comes to how they score a game and many times it contridicts itself.

You have to fully apply your hypothesis. If SMG or SSBB were on 360 or PS3 they'd be held to higher expectations for graphics, true - but they would have better graphics because of being, hypothetically, on a more powerful HD console.

What I find funny is you'll see 1% of Wii owners use the Wii mote for this game......everyone will be using a standard controller. The idea that Wii is better because of controls is blown out of the water with SSBM. And it also seems Mario Kart is starting to look exactly the same. Wii (as I've said before) is only good for sports games where people like the idea of pretending they are the ones doing in the game. Aside from party games, everything else IMO plays better on a standard controller.

i got the same problem, and i wish i didn't. I cannot look at Wii games in the same light as 360 or ps3 games just because of graphics no matter how hard i try to look past it. It really is a shame cause i think brawl or galaxy would look phenomenal in HD.

Umm graphics would be alot better if it was on the ps3 or 360. The game is just fun as hell. I played it with my bro yesterday and it was a blast. I think it would still achieve a 9.5 here if it were on one of the other two consoles. Games aren't rated solely on graphics. They are rated on how fun they are too.

That's a handicap my friend. Altering the Wii's scores because of its gimped hardware is definitely a handicap.

I think they would. Maybe not Galaxy cuz of no wiimote use but the level design, controls, atst*le and soundtrack are brilliant. Brawl has freakin addictive gameplay and so much great content.m_machine024

i agree, there's nothing like galaxy. revolutionary games that do well generally earn AAA. and if brawl was on the other consoles, there would be voice chat, leaderboard etc, added to an already addicting game. hell, if that was possible, it'll probably get multiplayer game of the year.

not to mention the amazing rendering complimented by the art style. i like the look o both games just as much as the games on my 360

Uhmmm...it is common knowledge that games for each system are rated based on the system itself. Games are NOT based on how good or bad they may be if they were on some OTHER console.

No actaully Halo 3 would have scored the same on the Wii because it's score would be altered to make allowances for the Wii's gimped hardware. Come to think of it they probably make allowances for the Wii's gimmickie controls as well.

GOTY differs depending on where you're looking. I've seen Call of Duty 4 win game of the year in far more places then SMG. The places where SMG won game of the year were obviously making allowances for the Wii's lackkuster hardware and gimmicky controls.

This is true. They would suffer if they weren't on the Wii. The Wii makes them better. That's why they're AAA. :)

Agreed though they may have got there on the XBLA part of 360 but no way - no how would the critics have not taken off 5 points out of 10 for many things the 360 & PS3 are EXPECTED to do where as the Wii is given a pass because it may be a new gen console as Nintendo itself has said but by no means is it comparable to the This gen console so it gets a pass.
