the fact that SMG won GOTY even though it had worse graphics technically than most 360 games just means how much quality it is. this would seem to indicate that it would get an AAA on any console since it did beat out those AAA's on other consoles. regardless of your own opinion.
GOTY differs depending on where you're looking. I've seen Call of Duty 4 win game of the year in far more places then SMG. The places where SMG won game of the year were obviously making allowances for the Wii's lackkuster hardware and gimmicky controls.
THe only big 1 COD 4 won was at THE AIAS.
Bioshock won the EGM, 1up, Gameinformer
Mario Galaxy won at IGN, Gametrailers, GamespotTHrough out the year Bioshock and Galaxy out paced COD 4 for GOTY.
And no SMG won straight up because it can not only run with those HD games, but it is superior in many other ways. To many critics and gamers it was a more fun and polished game.
In any case the majority of venues chose something other than SMG was my main point. And of course the ones that chose that ugly game obviously made allowances. I wonder how SMG was allowed to exist with it's gimmicky controls and physics. You'd think that physics would be important in a game like that.
Whats wrong with the physics in the game? its not a realistic gritty game.
YOur just making excuses now. only Bioshock won at more venues than Galaxy. Both Galaxy and Bioshock outpaced COD 4 in awards.
The game isnt the best game out there in visuals.
But it got many good responses on how well it played.
How the level desings were creative and refreshing.

The wiimote controls were not over used, felt natural, and the wiimote specific levels were an absolute blast.
Most critics agreed it was one of the most, if not the most fun game in 07.

Complaing about the game not having the best visuals is getting pointless, the game won straight up on many sites and mags. The game was a legit contender at many of these award shows as well.
At this point all you are doing is making blind fanboyish excuses.I honestly named COD4 off the top of my head because I guessed that it might have beaten SMG but the fact that Bioshock did the job is just fine with me because SMG doesn't deserve any sort of honors to start with.
You're the one making excuses now. Phyiscs enhance the experience. Since those suck in SMG it makes the experience that much worse.
SMG was ridiculously easy. What are you talking about? Unless you're gimped like that game is you shouldn't have any difficulty with it what so ever. Or you like unchallenging easy games that you can breeze through.

The game has a great review average because it was gimped to such an overwhelming extent that they needed to make certain allowances for it.
If you call that jagged mess polished then you might be legally blind my friend.
The level designer should feel ashamed after SMG. The game was repetitive and just dead boring.
If you don't think that SMG is the definition of a subpar game then you're clearly the bigger fanboy here.
