I actually agree with that list, still i think NeoGeo should be on a better place. I wonder how will be the top 10

If either the 360 or the Dreamcast is in the top 5 my respect for IGN will hit rock bottom.

The Dreamcast is like the Saturn and NEO GEO AES. A kick-ass system for those who want a niche system with superb imports but they can't be compared to the big guns in those generations.

The 360 has a long way to go before it can be compared to the big giants in gaming. In 1-2 years I can see it being there but it aren't there right now.

Why does this list even contain current gen consoles? anything could happen in the upcoming years.

SNES number 1. I think that's what it would be, and should be.

PS2 probably would get 2nd, although I wouldn't agree with that. I don't really like PlayStations. I hope the DreamCast surpasses it.

Interesting but the current gen doesn't need to be included, way too early to add systems from this gen into the list.

It would make no sense for the most advanced console ever created, equipped with the ability to play the previous PS1/2 games on top of its own library, to be anything less than #1. If I was to pick any console from history, why would I want anything but a PS3?

In some fantasy land where corporations are not afraid to lose money, Sony could have released a fully functional PC with 20 cel processors, Blu-ray, and full BC at launch for $300, and the public still would be like "Lol@Cows. Live>PSN."

And all we've learned is that one website can't make a list that satisfies everyone. They must have polled a dozen people at the most.

One poll on SW wouldn't make everyone happy. I've seen hate for almost every comnsole in this thread and it's based on personal preference than any other more objective criteria. That's just the way it is.

lol all-time? original xbox higher than the ps3? i guess they didn't go to asia when xbox was released. it was pretty much non-existent there. thi list is just too american. just put in 'of all time in the america perspective' lol.

Even though I am a cow, I might give a slight edge to 360 (maybe like one place ahead of ps3).

n64, ps1, ps2, atari 2600, genesis, snes, and nes should all rank higher than 360.

Yeah that's weird, but as stated in my other post -- it's subjective reasoning.

N64 better makte it on that list.

and for peopl, I personally agree that I prefer original Xbox to PS3, but it also had to of my favorite games of all time, Jet Set Radio Future, and Mechassault on it. So I may be a bit of a biased opinion.

I liked the top 10, I feel that 360 didnt deserve the spot it got but whatevs...

Importance? Yes. Innovation? No. During the console wars of the 6th generation, the PS1 was regarded anything but innovative. In fact, it was always bashed as the "me-too" console. I remember those days. Games were so much better then....

haha....thats true. I actually agree with most of those. I guess Megadrive, Nes and Snes will be on top 5 which i also agree.

And im glad IGN inst underhyping the 360 like most ppl arround these forums. Its an amazing console with just 1 problem: RRoD :P
