Yup, totally mediocre. :roll: I don't think people realize that Half-Life 2 is more than just the singleplayer campaign. It's practically the entire Source engine; encompassing all games that use it.
And neither Metroid Prime nor RE4 made the top 10.. and KOTOR/SOTC were above Galaxy. Boo.
In their movie section they had stuff like mr and mrs smith in best films ofwhatever year that was,and300 in the top 10 films of the decade,that gives you an idea of their "tastes".
For me, Prime was the game of the decade. Though, HL2 certainly deserves some praise and i'm not hurt to see it take top place even if i don't agree personally.
I can see this. I'm sure part of this was an attention grab though, since so many half life fans use the internet (see the VG hero contest late last year). Anywas I would put Resident Evil 4 as game of the decade, followed by SOTC.

Take your avatar for example. Without Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 wouldn't even exist. If Half-Life 2 wasn't as good as it ended up being, there would be no TF2, L4D, or any of that. It's like listening to Iced Earth and then calling Iron Maiden the most overrated band in existence. You might not catch that reference, but I hope you know what I'm getting at.

That seems like a pretty bad list IMO. No Halo CE, Metroid Prime, or RE4 in top 10 but U2? Personally I'd put Prime at the top spot. I think HL2 is a bit overrated. I can't even get the urge to play it on the Orange Box.
I played thorugh half life 2, episode 1, and episode 2. They were great games but they are extremely over rated. I understand your point but it really doesn't have any effect on what game should be the best of the decade. I feel that tf2 is the best game on orange box. So wheather half life 2 made that happen, tf2 is still a better game. The list was a joke considering they put mirrors edge(rated 7 at ign) ahead od mgs4(rated 10 at ign).

How is WoW noob friendly? Have you even been in ICC? While the small time 5 man stuff maybe, raids are still hardcore as hell. Get anub 25 man heroic down and tell me WoW is noob friendly.
I like how poeple like to hate on WoW, but at the end of the day the 13+ million are ennjoying something.

Not sure about the rest of the list, but Half Life 2 certainly deserved the title. Now hopefully Valve would stand up to the MASSIVE expectation crashing down upon it and just finish EP3 and make some sequels before I kill someone. >:O

Get anub 25 man heroic down and tell me WoW is noob friendly. Haven't played after BC for good reasons. Raiding was never hard, try it about two times and you get it down. Everything is cookie-cutter from the talents and specs to the armour and tactics. Nothing is hard, everything is instanced and makes it hardly competitive to get it or get done. You can even just a pub and get things done on WoW. I've raided up to Vash and Kael then my guild fell apart. And from after playing EQ and EQ2 I can say it doesn't hold up to those at all.

HL2 could have given birth to other great games but that doesnt change the fact that HL2 itself was an overrated game. its like an ugly couple having a beautiful child...now the child might be beautiful but that doesnt change the fact that the parents are ugly.
Especially when you consider that the entire source engine spawned so many amazing games. Half Life 2 was blew everything else i had seen at the time away, its a really great game

Yea, but Half-Life 2 has like a 96 on Metacritic. It's far from an ugly duckling. If you don't like the game, you're in the minority. When did you play it?

O it is easy. Everything is cookie-cutter or different. You can pub some heroics and be fit to raid, pub some even 25-man heroics and get it done. Go play EQ2 or did you play EQ1 where things were tough.
