every single one of these games are exceptional but somehow the moron who reveiwed these seemed to find them only to be average. Anyway I'm not saying BD is a great game or otherwise, I'm just saying I'd use my own judgement in deciding the quality ofsomething asdelicate as the quality of an RPG.

I'm not even an xbox fan nordo I have any anticipation forthis game, I'm just spaking as a gamer to other gamers who might end up liking this game.

While very true, you have to remember that this is IGN is much more open arms with JRPG's. Sure they still get under-rated but not heavlily.

Oh and I just saw the video review of Blue Dragon, goddamn the framerate is worse than what I imagined. Lost Odyssey will be the next flop that game has a very traditional Jrpg style.

first the official hype for this was AA not AAA so a 7.9 would likely be an 8 (ie AA) on the daft new GS rating system meaning it wouldn't be a flop.

when was the last time you saw major hype for Blue Dragon?

You might claim ownage about this but I honestly believe very few 360 owners care about JRPG's, you can laugh all you want but its true.

Reviews only count from GS in SW, as Cows were so quick to point out about Madden YESTERDAY (!!!), oh how quick they forget! So its probably best to wait, no?

oh please blu dragon was hyped to death as the "comeback" in japan, AND it used many MANY times in arguments to defend that X360 isn't all about shooters.. it's hyped as AA, a lot of people care about this game, and alot of people will be owned if this game flops.nintendo-4life

It was hyped loudly by a few people, again if it was so hyped why is only AA? Blue Dragon hyped to sell 360'sin Japan? When was that? A year ago?

EDIT in terms of the ridiculous shooter arguement of course it was used in the list, as were scores of other games.Unfortunately some people were too dim or deliberately obtuse to see that the 360 had the most varied of all the next gen console libraries.

It'lll probably get AA here on GS but this is exactly what I thought it would be. I completely agree with the review.

I don't think anyone in their right mind was hyping this game to be AAA after they played the demo. I think it deserves a low AA at best. I'm actually really disappointed, I've had my eye on this game since it was first announced.

On the bright side, a game I wasn't following until recently, Eternal Sonata, has a chance at becoming a AAA JRPG for the X360 this year(at least from my impressions of the demo).

blue dragon flops, cows wont really rub it in, and lemmings will brush it off as they dont care it's only Jrpg rubbish anyway......, but if lair gets less than an 8 then lemmings will rub it in non stop....bigLLL

indeed. i'm sure it's right up the alley of those who like the traditional RPG experience. May not be a big point of enjoyment in the Western world, hence the high scores over there...and lower than expected scores here.

It is, but that isn't saying much. 100,000-200,000 sold is quite a disappointment for the developers whose games usually sell 10-20 times that in the first week alone.

Well, this looks like a flop for the lemmings. I'm pretty sure this game was hyped at least "AA". It will score an "A" here.

I'm buying the game regardless what it scores. I'm hearing the battle system is pretty fun. Eternal Sonata will probably score an "A" here as well. That's another flop waiting to happen as well. Losy Odyssey looks like "AA" material. Maybe that won't flop.

If you love JRPGs I'd bet you'd love this game. If you hate them, you'd hate this game. Depends on the reviewer's personal choice I think the whole thing will boil down to.

I think 90% of ppl who have played the both the Blue dragon demo and the Eternal Sonatra demo agree....

I see TeamXbox gave it an 8.5

yea yea...the name...but their review scores are on par with the typical average scores for Xbox games. And they're owned by IGN, so most of the typical fansite bias is non-existatn.

I expect this game will get inconsistent scores depending on reviewer taste, IMO.

Doesn't make me sad either. I be indifferent towards this game. Apart from that one video with the battle music, I was happy when I watched that. Never understood or saw the appeal of this game. Granted I'm usually not that into JRPG's, but this one just looked... :|

EGM panned the game, so 7.9 seems pretty good in comparison.

This really seems to be a love it/hate it game.
