IGN reviews blue dragon

This was for sure when they were debuting the game in Japan 1.5 years ago or so.

dude hype changes, its like people who are hyping Kilzone 2 as a halo killer based on the one trailer we saw two years ago at e3 and now we know more stuff people dont hype it that much(or at least thats my perception). Same thing with bluedragon premier 1.5 years ago is a long time i dont know remember anyone except maybe Xjet making it sound like a FF killer, but i dont remember him saying that he was just hyped in general about the game.

The general consciences has always been its a good traditional game with traditional jrpg to the core elements nothing earth shattering to say the least...

say what you want, but the hype never official reversed itself. Lemmings hyped this game and Lost Oddsey as their answer to Final Fantasy. They were herralded as the reason Final Fantasty on the 360 wasn't necessary. If Cows were held accountable for early KillZone 2 hype, Warhawk hype, Lair hype and Resistance hype, then you better damn well believe I'll be right there holding Lemmings accountable for Blue Dragon hype, Lost Oddsey hype, and whatever other games that get hype only to suck.

exactly. as far as i can remember, almost everyone hyped blue-dragon and lost odyssey the FF killers. and FF killers just have to score at least 9. so... could we say, flop?

im still supporting mistwalker 100% i only own a 360 and i want my jrpgs dangit, dont remove .

blue dragon flops, cows wont really rub it in, and lemmings will brush it off as they dont care it's only Jrpg rubbish anyway......, but if lair gets less than an 8 then lemmings will rub it in non stop....bigLLL

Thats true but I think there was way more forum hype for Lair, people made it seem like the reason to get a PS3, and it surely wasn't the reason I got mine!

Seeing as Blue Dragon is looking more and more to be ho-hum PS2 leftovers, if it were me I'd remove it unless something crazy happens, like if LO gets a 9 or something like that. From what I can tell though, Mystwalker is just an average quality JRPG developer, and the guy running it has a really bloated ego and reputation that's quickly diminishing (and has been ever since that piece of trash Spirits Within hit theaters and flopped).

i think i'll make the decision once GS reviews the game, LO gets reviewed... CryOn gets some updates, and ASH gets released. (latter seems VERY promisin)

can't help but love Sagakuchi's works :( so i'll give him another chance... tho' i can't deny that so far he's been a case of bloated ego like "timstuff" said... hope he proves me and all the doubters wrong

Honestly, i'd like to see people saying it's a Final Fantasy killer. By all means, there will be some, but i dont recall that being a general consensus at any point. I could be wrong though.

They're releasing LO this year if i'm not mistaken? So it still can prove itself. HONESTLY! What were you expecting from BD?!?!?! I just...what?! Is it the DBZ artist? Cuz i think it's ugly...but the game NEVER looked great. I saw a video on GT that really introduced the main character...and there's nothing more souring to a JRPG than a main character that's a cheesy, pre-teen anime character cliche.

I'm genuinely shocked that there are as many BD threads as there are, and that this topic has like 18 pages.

The difference of course is, that Folklore is original, Blue Dragon is derivative. Of course, Folklore still only has two reviews as well and the other one is AA.
