IGN reviews blue dragon

I see TeamXbox gave it an 8.5

yea yea...the name...but their review scores are on par with the typical average scores for Xbox games. And they're owned by IGN, so most of the typical fansite bias is non-existatn.

I expect this game will get inconsistent scores depending on reviewer taste, IMO.

Yeah, also the Sound/Audio had a huge diff. It seems IGN didn't like the music while Team X-Box did. I will be one of those games that will be good depending on taste

were you looking for a traditional jrpg experience? because the game is basically that.... Its not bad just too traditional for the reviewers tastes, if you want something not so traditional Eternal Sonata another 360 exclusive jrpg has a different combat system that might be better with your tastes.

as a PS3 owner, i wouldn't mind getting an Xbox360 just to get this game. It'll probably the last work of one of the greatest anime author in Japan, Akira Toriyama (DBZ author).

I respect this game as i have big respect for Akira Toriyama.

and yes the "official" hype WAS AAA at first. but after the demo and some western previews it went down to AA

After reading IGN's review, it seems like this game will not be what it was thought to be. I think people were saying that the demo wasn't that good either. The review says that the first 10-15 hours of the first disc are meh. I wonder if people are still going to pick it up.

I know a few people who have completed the *** version of this game and they said it was great, they did think though it wouldn't get the best of ratings due to it been last gen rpg with a next-gen coat of paint, which isn't bad by all means, just maybe not what people are expecting for this gen. That's still not a bad score people, I'll still be getting it. It is a little disappointing that the characters are not very deep though. I like traditional jrpg's so I think it will still be a good game.briguyb13

I don't care about the battle System, but the Story seems to Stink and as you said (and the Review said) the Characters are barely Developed... Thats what Pisses me off... I can play just about any RPG and have fun as long as I can get into the Story which having good Characters normaly does...

FPS and other types of games are different, but mabye Microsoft does not Realise that RPG's are not like FPS... RPG's need Good Characters, Good Stories.... Microsoft is making Blue Dragon the Same way they make there FPS... Square will always be better...

why are you only bashing Microsoft for this? the PS3 only has ONE rpg this year(folklore) thats it, besides this is only the first their are three more rpgs coming out this year, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata, and Lost Odyssey if you are an rpg lover anda 360 owner it could be a lot worse if you had a PS3 this year because if you dint like folklore then too bad its the only rpg you get this year...

Umm, its very similar to FFX and DQ8, which were last gen. Also it reminds me of the ps1 rpg era, which was when my favorite rpgs came out, such as FF7-FF9.

With a PS3 I could Still Play Final Fantasy 12, 7,10,8,9 and I would be geting some REAL RPG's in the Long run... Microsoft does not know how to do RPG's... They Just Proved that with Blue Dragon... If Gamespot thinks the Same I'm selling my 360 before Christmas... I bet Killzone 2 will be better then Halo 3 (The Beta Left a Bad taste in My Mouth... well.. i dont know it just dosnt make sense for instance you are going to play old FF games(which are traditional like blue dragon is....)on PS3 when you can play actual next gen rpgs like

Mass Effect(how are you not hyped for this game? did you see the hands on and the universeyou can explore, the graphics looks amazing, and its from bioware so the story should be amazing...)

Eternal Sonata(the combat looks a lot more action-oriented than blue dragon and the graphics look great)

Lost Odyssey( the story seems a lot more in depth than blue dragon)

and another thing you think Killzone 2 is going to better than Halo3 why? the first killzone got below a 7 last time.... and FF is coming out most likely in 2009 because its going to be like all the other FFs before it comes out frist in japan(in 2008) then localization for U.S until 2009....you want to wait that long....
