[QUOTE="poptart"]Only gamers it hurt was the cows. Does not effect Lemmings or sheep at all. For example lemmings just got a AAA game so those gamers are doing just fine. That is dissapointing. A game flopping should not be applauded. A company releasing a dud is not good for gamers.
I think we should hold a minutes silence for the game that could have been...

Yeah, how does Lair flopping hurt gaming in general at all? Games have been flopping since the start of gaming, and the only game who's floppage has ever actually hurt the industry was E.T. Lair is pretty bad, but I don't think it's E.T.
If anything, games like Lair flopping so hard with games like Bioshock being a massive success will only tell developers and publishers that we won't stand for unoriginal garbage. And that's only good for gaming.
It's just one game, really shows maturity level of so called Lemmings who are more of a console bashers than cows I have observed in past few days. String-Fellow
If your such an observer, you would know, most hyped AAA titles on the PS3 are flopping like pancakes lately.

Factor 5 hasn't made a decent game in ages (GameCube's Rogue Leader 1 was pretty to look at and pretty good, but Rogue Leader 2 was trash), so this is no surprise. Not only was this game hyped, but Factor 5 itself was hyped when the announced they do PD3 exclusively, then made press releases trashing Xbox360, all of this was cheered by the cows. lol
Well, Factor 5 knows graphics, but they sure don't know games.

Professor Layton dares to differ. Factor 5 is amazing, I blame the PS3 for this! :P
no, not really...
Professor Layton is developed by Level 5 not Factor 5.
[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]Sooo....instead of calling them "Factor 5"...
...can we call them "Factor 4.9" now? :D

That's awesome. Yes, let's.
Win. :D
Yeah, its pretty safe to call this a flop now. No need to even wait for the GS review, really. However I'm still not really sure how IGN could give it a 7.5 in graphics, unless the framerate was incredibly inconsistent.Teufelhuhn
I think Bioshock0wnz has the game and was saying earlier that the framerate is terrible.

Shame they couldn't fix the framerate. Cell processor FTW?

I'm all for this. Shame that Gamespot won't score it 4.9 too because that'd seal the deal...

I miss the .1 system
Why wasn't this game on Wii?
Factor 5 is one of the very few devs that knows Wii's hardware inside and out, so the visuals would hold up(making it trick you Lair is running on next-gen hardware), and the wiimote is a MUCH MUCH better fit than the tacked on gimmick on six axis. Wii is also more popular too.
Wii could've had a solid game in their library, instead of a flop in the PS3's.

I'm telling you guys this new system was put in place for the casual audience. It's more simple. Even the new layout and font looks too simple and plain.

The new .5 rating system made sense when you considered their reasoning for it, I guess. But I'm sorry, the whole emblem thing just screams "casual newb attention-grabber". Why have an emblem for "great story" when you can simply note that in the review and properly discuss it? To give people even less of a reason to read the review?
Nobody ever even talks about how many positive or negative emblems a game got when a review comes out, much less what they even were. Emblems are something I would've honestly expected from a publication the likes of Maxim magazine. No offense, and stuff.
Blue Dragon>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lair
I find this extremely funny, not because it was officially hyped as AA by cows, but because of what Factor 5 said about the 360 and developing for it. It just wasn't powerful enough to handle their amazing game  If this is what they can produce then, please don't develope for the 360...or anyone for that matter
awww man....where's cobragt and Dire Weasel?
they were soooooo certain of AAA status.....
...just missed it....
The problem is theirs no way to change Lairs name into a funny flop title.
If you ask me, thats the real problem with that game.
Funny thing about Lair is that we've had so much time to prepare for this flop that its not really shocking as much as it is expected.
