I thought both GC and Xbox were much much better consoles then the DC. I don't really like where the DC sits at all.

Both arguments over the DC are easy imo. They both just had much more high quality games, and the best games were better. I own all three, and DC has definitely been my least played by far.

the ps3 is not on there because it did not have one true standout title until mgs4 and then it took another entire year after that before it's library filled out enough to compete with its direct competition.

maybe that is a pretty cheesy reason since it is such a standout console at this point but i can easily see the justification.

1 - Megadrive

2 - Snes

3 - Playstation 1

4 - Xbox 360

5 - Nes

I'd personally put the top 5 as something like this

1-PS2

2-N64

3-SNES

4-Genesis/GC/Xbox

Never been a fan of the PS1, and never played much NES.

The 360 is not ahead of the ps1

the ps2 is in the right place, i kind of like the list it all makes sense actually

The PS3 is the best console this gen, but the 360 should be on the list for doing what they did to online. PSN would be terrible if it had not been for XBL being better in every way.

I was generalizing. IGN's articles are fanboy bait and nothing more. Their reviews are okay, but their articles are ridiculous.

How the Dreamcast can make it onto a best of anything other than failing list when it comes to consoles is beyond me.

It doesn't really make sense for the 360 to be on there but not the PS3, because in reality, they are very, very similar.

Dreamcast should be higher, PS2 at the top, Xbox 360 and no PS3? Wait, how many consoles are there anyway? Wouldn't think there'd have been enough to bother with a top 10.

I have a great problem with this list...as much as people hype up the Dreamcast it is by no means better than PS3 or the Nintendo DS

And I would not rate the 360 that highly.

Switch PS2 and the SNES and I would agree.

360 mainstreamed social gaming and was a breakthrough console for MS....all ps3 did was underperform

Ha, I didn't even have to glance at a list of DC games, an indication how many great games it had in it's relatively small library. It deserves a spot, not a high spot, but a spot.

Oh yeah, and it was the first console that was somewhat popular for online play among its users in the US. A few earlier experiment had been done, but that's what they were, experiments; Phantasy Star online was actually a success.

NO! DC is almost as good as ps2.

Ps1 way too low and the n64 too. I say nay for the 360 and wii on the lists.
