Yeah. From the demo, Infamous 2 was one of the few games that I thought actually made major improvements over its predescessor. Better graphics, gameplay, movement, visual etc. The GS review is a huge surprise for me..

Whatever, I'm still getting the game and it'll be a blast.

Incorrect, this game had AA HYPE, as fakeboys were doing their best, like every game to beef up 'da ownage'. It's still a flop though.

Also, SOCOM 4 manipulation was by factions attempting ownage, trying to push SOCOM hype high. I have screen caps of that poll and saw people trying to push SOCOM to get ownage as well. I have links on that affair and this one and I was apart of the whole thing. You got one side of a story, not the whole picture. There were many other games in SW history that me and a lot of users have spoken about in PMs about lol.

The same reviewer gave NBA 2K11 an 8.0, when it was probably the best Sports game of the 2011 season.

Yup and he says infamous 1 felt mroe like a gray area in choices. What game was he playing? Part 1 made it clear what was bad and what was good. For example at the beggingin take all the food for urself and your 2 friends=jerk or sharing it with all the people=not a jerk its clear black and white theres no grey.

The Infamous series is officially the Crackdown series of the ps3. Both are sandbox comic-book style games, both had disappointing sequels, and both might go down as being the game that let them play the Halo or Uncharted beta.Karnage108

EDIT : SOCOM wasn't a very weird case at all, it was actually pretty typical of System Wars, all the way back to Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, and many, many other games. This is how it always is actually.

EDIT 2 : I was incorrect, TOM did review both games after checking (I remember Kevin V. For some reason)...so I guess Infamous 2 really let him down, lol. :P I covered that possibility though in red.

EDIT 3 : I sent some PM's out to specific members of SW with the Proof, including Timmy here. The reason I didn't post the proof in here, is because I've done this song and dance MANY TIMES before in MANY HYPE threads before in SW. Basically, the end result is I post the LINK OF OWNAGE, showing polls of SW HYPE, and then alt/bandodgers/fans of other machines go into those polls, tamper with the results to ensure a flop is incoming for their NONSystem of choice, and my PROOF to older polls is ruined.

Been there done that....I'm not going through that again, lol. In an effort to preserve that, I have specifically sent GS PM's to certain members of this thread, to show that there is indeed proof, and I also told them why I didn't post the links in here.

Of course, if there was a way to STOP A POLL from working when a game shipped, this wouldn't be an issue. but it is...as I've seen before. Sux guys and gals. :(

Also, it is a lot of work for nothing, since InFAMOUS was hyped AA, and it got A, so it's still a flop. I'm not going to work hard in this thread or care too much to prove it was AA HYPED when it's still a flop. If the game was AA scored I would put more effort forth, but this is for naught.

I've seen this in SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION THREADS, ALAN WAKE THREADS, HEAVY RAIN THREADS, and more...and SW has a longstanding tradition of doing this for years upon years.

THERE WILL BE A NEW WAY HYPE threads are going to be done, look forward to that in the coming months. It's time I try to help out in some way, although my power is limited. :)

Look forward to the GeoW3, Uncharted 3, and Resistance 3 threads in the NEAR FUTURE, and many more to come. It's time to put a stop to these shenanigans.

If GS doesn't go after MW3 with the same complain and slaps a 8.5-9.0 there is going to be issues. Even the epic masterpiece Tales of Vesperia had GS complain about "too much like the previous games" on "the bad" list. Yet CoD manages to pull of the biggest rehashes in all of gaming and score 8.5-9.0 with barely any mention that it is actuallt the same game as last year.

Predictably, people are crying and nitpicking about the review because they have this preconceived notion that the 2nd game is better. Have you ever considered that the review doesn't think the 2nd game is better? :roll:

It just defies common sense .... first infamous, the glitchest game ever with so many to critisize was an AAA game, but the 2nd which is undoubtly better ( I played the dameo btw) scores A, I can understand an AA but an A ..... this is just rediculous.

If it were just those complaints, you might have a point, but he clearly talked about pacing issues and combat inbalance among other thngs. He pointed out many flaws, not just a few nitpicky flaws.

this game got a 9 on ign but a here on 7.5, ehhh. to bad i don't let reviewers dictate whether or not i enjoy or buy a title. This is still a day one buy.

The game might have had AA hype in the end (because of the strategic voting), but the idea that this game never had AAA hype is ridiculous. The first game was an AAA, and this sequel looked improved in many ways. There was really no reason to hype it AA until reviews started rolling in.

I am genuinely surprised by this score, but until I play it myself, I think I disagree with the review. Morality system a joke? It sounds like it's almost the same as in the first game, and IGN's review said that there's two completely different endings, so to me it sounds like an improvement.

The only issues I had with the first game were the bad graphics and the lack of things to do once finished. inFamous 2 has clearly improved on both of those things so I don't see what the issue is. The doesn't look like a step back to me; this looks like a huge step forward.

Just some of his nipicks are werid like the "theres no gery choice liek there was in infamous 1" which is just bs since infamous didint make anything look grey it was clear if you were being a selfish evil jerk or not. So thats automatically tossed out the window. The whole black and white dieing thing seemed to bother him but it was in part one and in part 2 it doesitn seem more anoying or anything. Also again with the feels the same as part 1 as a negative complaint seems dumb to use when you let other pass when they do that. It just makes GS look foolish. If anything seems like he just wasint a huge fan of the characters and story this time around.
