No. Those games you listed are better than what Sony had in '07. I played all those '07 games, and I didn't enjoy them nearly as much as I did those 3 flops.

Well not everyone feels the way you do so I'll rather just compare reviews side by side then take everyones opinions into consideration.

If it gets a 7ish here then it's good. Most JRPGs get only 7s.

You're the one that wants all RPG's 50+ hours

Why would a dev push it's resources to their limit to get out a bunch of games that can't possible be bought alongside another game?

If all games were that long the quality would take the biggest hit because you can't add filler to every game. That's like asking every movie to be 3 hours.

Second, you'd have devs wait to release titles because they'd want to make sure people bought their games, not picked one over the other.

If you would have read through my post then you would have seen that I said some games should be around 25hrs because the game just needs to end. Then there are those that should be past 50hrs because they are great engaging games. And why shouldn't games be released on the same day? The developers should work hard to make their games better so that it will be bought over the other one.

If he enjoys games despite what reviewers say, how is that a waste of money for him? I really don't understand some of you people.

Yup, I spent $60 on MGS4 and didn't enjoy it, so that was a waste of $60 for me. Reviews or other opinions don't dictate my purchases and they never will.

Especially considering there are alot of high rated games that people only play though once or twice. A games score does not necessarily determine whether or not people get their money's worth. some people are just a bit number obsessed.

It's just the structure we go by here, the PS3 line up was hammered for all of it's "flops" and now it seems to be the 360 year to have the "flop" lineup.

TPS/Platformer vs Action Game.

Uncharted was ****ing awesome, I know that much at least.

It's not a bad score, but I really don't trust IGN either way.

They over rate Dragon Ball and Pokemon games. They gave Kingdom Hearts 2 a ridiculously low rating.

I'll wait for Gamespot, but I was expecting ratings in the 7 range.

I may or may not check it out. Im not sure.

hmm, this isn't good news...one review hardly tells the tape of a game though..if scores like that are the norm then there's need for concern. I really hope that IGN's review is the exception to most reviews. I was looking forward to this game, and I really want a console JRPG to play. TOV looks ok, i just didn't like the demo, and haven't been a huge fan of Tales games in the past. Pretty disappointing, but I'm going to wait for other reviews and people i know that have played it to judge it before i give up on it or notjohnnyv2003

You could always try Lost Odyssey. That was a great jrpg.

I'm going through LO now & I'm not sure I'll be able to commit 100 hours to it. What you people call "heart tugging" or emotionally enjoyable, confounds my imagination. Watching a little girl jump off a cliff at the start or listening to that soft music play while reading a dream reminds me of funerals. Especially the music. I feel I'm sitting at somebody's funeral. I don't know if I can finish this game or if I will continue it. It's too depressing. I've probably spent only 1 hour playing it, but 100 hours!? I'll need prozac afterwards! It has that Howl's Moving Castle feel to it. I'm not into feeling-sad storylines.

With all the low scoring JRPGs/Action RPGs/JSRPGs, it looks like the whole RPG invasion on the 360 needs to go back to the drawing board.

I'm of the camp of having shorter RPGs. I spent all summer & about 49 hours to complete Mass Effect on the first play through. I'm trying a second play through now but each of the main missions feel about 5-8 hours long (I'm skipping every side mission on the second pass).

Warhawk, Motorstorm, Uncharted, Folklore...I think it's pretty close actually, but this is just the beginning. AAAs for probably Gears and Banjo--maybe Fable 2.
