Shame their games aren't too great.

I guess you didn't read this: "Our relationship with Sony Computer Entertainment is still very strong, and continues as we develop additional projects exclusively for PlayStation 3 - projects that will take full advantage of our additional development time."darthogre"additional development time" Sure, because we all know that excess time is a norm in game development.

It seems this is something they have specifically are doing for all their titles now: "One thing that has become apparent to us though is that in order to live up to our own high standards of quality, we want to give ourselves more development time to iterate and polish our games. All future Insomniac titles will benefit from longer development cycles, which will directly benefit you, our fans"

For new games. My guess is Sony owns some of the IP's they work on so that is why they did this deal so they can own the IP's and make them multiplatform. But as they said that doesn't mean they are all multiplatform. I'd be surprised if say R&C was mutliplatform but I guess we'll see. Their statement basically says a new game is going to be multiplatform........that doesn't mean everything.
And now Lems do? How many times did Lems make fun of Resistance or R&C? It works both ways. Now you are going to have Lems suddenly care about their games and Cows will say it isn't a big deal because the games sucked. So now cows dont care about insomniac :?

Ah yeah, I wouldn't expect any of the old franchises to go multi, but a new title would be good.
Maybe now they'll create something original.sammyjenkis898
Yeah, because that's what the 360 is known for this gen, its original games...
Excited about any new IP fom Insomniac though, because contrary to most here, apparently, I like their games.
From a business perspective it's a very sensible move I'd say. If I'd be responsible for any dev's business decisions I'd be going for multiplats by definition. There are hardly any commercially sound reasons I can think of not to.
edit: spelling

Apparently Insomniac has even more people working for them than we thought.
INB4 Lems who think Resistance is "generic" and Ratchet & Clank is a "kiddie, inferior platformer" suddenly get excited about this "mediocre" devs games. ... or am I too late?Hahadoukeni can't tell are you mocking insomniac or insomniac haters?

You never know.
Actually, I was just trying to make a little jab at Insomniac. They've been making rehashes for years and I'm hoping this will change that; it's doubtful.

Haters. I loved both Resistance's and pretty much every R&C made, and I hate how they get downplayed on here so much. They are extremely talented devs, especially when you consider what a tight timeline they have been working with. They have released 4 full AAA games (I'm talking industry AAA as in big budget, not Gamespot AAA like 9.0+) since the start of the gen. No small feat for anyone. Even their "weak" efforts like Resistance 2 have some redeeming qualities, like the co-op, which was freaking fantastic and addictive. Love Insomniac, I hope their multiplat game is even better than their exclusives. They have no excuses about working with the PS3's architecture too, there shouldn't be any of this "inferior port" nonsense.
Sony owns both IPs.I own resistance IMO not that great of a game. R&C are good though. I wonder who owns the rights to though games.

I really doubt anybody is really getting excited about Insomniac's middle of the road games. Lems are getting excited at the opportunity to try and manufacture some artificial ownage.

Yeah their "middle of the road" games with ~90 Metacritic averages.

Sony does.
So, another one bites the dust
I wonder how many exlcusives PS3 has left anymore
Square - 360
Insomniac - 360
MGS - 360
There is not much left

Sony still has a pretty robust set of 1st Party development studios which which will continue to create quality exclusives as they have done all this gen.
But as far as 3rd party exclusivity goes, yeah you're right, they're almost extinct on the HD consoles.
*looks at 360 exclusives* :lol:So, another one bites the dust

Meh,pity it wasn't ND instead of Insomniac.
I don't much care for Insomniac's antiquated and uninspired offerings this gen.
Still another one bites the dust. :)

Fair enough.

Yeah their "middle of the road" games with ~90 Metacritic averages. Get real.I don't really care about MC averages. I will admit that the middle of the road part was merely my opinion (though I'm certainly not alone in thinking this). My real point was that nobody is super excited as you would like to think as Insomniac's games are hardly coveted on SW. It's more about the ownage.
