Introducing the new 360 controller with improved d-pad

If this is true, the biggest complaint about the 360 is no more.

Yeah if it's true, it would have been nice if it was included in the new models but I don't think it's too late to include it in the holiday bundles they may have. I'm still getting the Razer Onza though.

Cool, now if they make the sticks and buttons more responsive, and improve the bumpers, it will be a very nice controller.

They already know that Kinect is going to fail. So they are starting to work on a new controller. Makes sense I guess

Well that's definitely good news, but there are two problems I see with it. Format and position. If they decide to move it, where the hell is it gonna go? On the back?

I like the current 360 d-pad actually. Good news for anyone that has a problem with it I guess.

This is a nice rumor...EVEN if it is 5 years way late.

Let's hope and pray this rumor turns out to be real. I can't excited by a rumor, but I can hope for it to be real. So many rumors don't always pan out though...:(

EDIT : It just got announced, now let's just hope it works the way we all imagine it will. I'm very glad they are attempting to rectify this known DPad problem though, even though I'm surprised they did it 5 years after complaining by millions of fans.

Still, it's a good move, especially for Fighting game and 2D XBLA fans....it's a shame that it is only released for $65 with a kit...I already have 4 kits. :(

Props to Microsoft for finally fixing this, but this really never should have been an issue in the first place. They knew what a crappy d-pad it was when they first released it. And why not fix the d-pad BEFORE the hardware redesign? It would add just a little bit more value to the 360 S.savebattery

The timing of the rumor is interesting due to the bad PR for The XBOX LIVE PRICE HIKE, and the coming of the handfree Kinect.

well the only reason I ever heard why the sony controller was better than the 360 controller was because of the d pad, guess now we have the best controller for sure with the xbox. Also this rumor is just like every other MS rumor, leaked out on purpose, remember when you had people saying the xbox 360 slim wasnt coming? Yep same thing here. Its apart of the genius business model.

well like many times before like when you said the slim was JUST a "Rumor" for the 360, this rumor will come to fruition, and leading the way, well MS listens and delivers.

its way too late, If they had released the updated dpad in all future controllers they did for the single promotional thing for PES in europe then it would have been great, but its 2010 they have the abbility, they have the controller...yet they haven't done it so I doubt they are doing whats detailed in the rumor.

neither have I. ims till gettitng razer's onza however. even microsoft is making a controller with improved d-pad, razer's controller comes out this year(hopefully). so why wait really when theres one coming out soon?

The d-pad isn't as big of a problem as people say it is, but it definitely is the worst part of the 360 controller. Nice to hear they're improving it.... took them long enough.Doolz2024

Who cares really, there are already third party controllers that fix that problem, this won't fix the millions of controllers already in users homes and it's Microsoft, it'll probably cost more then the console.

if this is true they should make the dpad like the ps gamepad. i trully find it very weird it is sony the ONLY people that knows that the dpad has to have separate buttons not and not a big one piece floatinf dpad. i mean come one eaither way microsoft is late razer are releasing a gamepad that seems to be great.

I will be gettin the pro version of the Onza gamepad by Razer. Its amazing to me that 2 generations in a row Msoft has had to redo their joypad. Granted it was a big improvement but still it is inexcusable.

true and thats why they will make it.... These rumors for the mostpartalways come true. Actually from the start of this gen when people talked about zephyr and then it became true to the xbox 360 slim to the PS3 slim it was always a rumor before.
