"The controller will only be available with the new Play & Charge Kit that will launch on November 9th for US $64.99."
Does that mean that they won't even come with new 360s?

I disagree. This is still the best controller:

Best controller of the time undoubtedly, but a lot of that is nostalgia. The controller is/was tiny by today's standards and the d-pad doesn't have enough depth compared to some of those that have come after it.
I agree, it isn't fitted for today's games. But playing Donkey Kong Country 2 on it still feels perfect :D

No disagreement here. :P
good news that they finally fixed the dpad... dont know why they changed all the colors around tho. Bad idea imo.
The thing is will that d-pad feel actually different since by the looks of it all it did was take out the fat that were in the corners of the d-pad.. I cant fully judge the d-pad till I try it which will proboly be never since I sure as hell aint buying it. Also whats with the dumb button colors. I rather have the b,y,r,g collors.
I like what they did to the d-pad, but why did they sap the color from the face buttons?SuperNecro
for the look of it
[QUOTE="tomarlyn"]Pretty sexy and with an improved D-Pad it is now definitely the best controller ever made.CuteCakesBest of all time is subjective, but with the new d-pad I think its fairly faultless. pretty much. but: no1: Why did MS release a controller with a duff D-Pad in the first place (especially considering the Xbox S-Controller was ace) no2: Is this new controller worth the price? no3: Why wont MS replace the current design entirely with this new one?
lol, its a little late now lol. They shouldve did it with the new slim consoles. Makes more sense :Pnavyguy21They wouldn't be able to sell it separately at a higher price that way. I don't get why they didn't change the d-pad for all controllers.

Yeah, the S-controllers were really nice but just like the Sixaxis it didn't have rumble, just like the Wiimote it didn't have Wiimotion plus. All the console controllers this gen had changes.
no2: Is this new controller worth the price?
This controller bundle is still the same price as before. Personally I mostly try to not buy at MSRP.
no3: Why wont MS replace the current design entirely with this new one? Just like all redesigned hardware so far, it will take time for them to clear the old stock and start bundling them in the new stock. This controller was just announced.

Microsoft Marketing is Genius. It even stops people from thinking logically.
How can someone call this a deal. Look at the bolded red. I still dont get how anyone can defend this company for its shoddy overpriced accesories. i can get a 8 battery eneloop charger kit for 20 bucks. And that comes with 8 batteries.
Blaze-Agent
I'd like to where you can buy that because in Canada it costs $50 for 4 batteries and a recharger. So the play and charge kit is still cheaper.
look on ebay. plenty of deals
You can find tons of batteries with chargers for $15-$20. 4 rechargeable batteries alone cost $10. That's much better than paying for a play & charge kit because you can put 2 in a charger while the other 2 are being used in your controller. That way, you never need to wait for them to charge while the others are dead. 360 controllers were just $40 for two and $27 for one a while ago.The old S controllers had just as "bad" a D pad as the 360 controllerAnjunaddictDid it? I dont seem to remember anyone complaining. I could be wrong tho.
Interesting. It looks good, but I'm surprised they removed the color from the buttons. musicalmac
maybe they were going for a stylish look? well dont people know the controller scheme by now without the colors? this is different then razers controller. their has a different d pad unlike this one. like all the d buttons are not connect togather. though Im suprise razers controller and microsofts controller is very close togather. still, even if their very close togather.=, Im getting razer's controller TE edition. Of course there is going be someone complaining the price for the TE edition for not being wireless.
Damn I just bought a new controller... well I guess I had to replace the broken somehow it's not like I was gonna wait :P.
Looks pretty nice.

It feels exactly the same to me, ive been using the dpad loads recently because im playing Shenmue 2
They need to make the controller bigger, then there problem is solved.n00bkidMy hands are huge and the controller fits perfect, would you be 7 ft. tall by any chance :P
Best controller ever made confirmed! I don't play enough games that really need the d-pad though to warrant a purchase.-RocBoys9489-NO! No,nono,no! that title goes to razers onza. their can only be one better controller!:P
(plus its cheaper too but its not wireless)

Don't get me wrong, I actually like the color scheme. I'm just surprised they chose to go with it. That's all. I wouldn't mind having one, but I already have 4. The transforming nature of the dpad is interesting, but I can't imagine ever using it without first putting it into (as I will call) SNES mode. :PI wish they separated it like the playstation one, while keeping the chrome, and didnt charge $65 dollars for it. That'd be something I'd be willing to get behind. Its as good as it'll get though unfortunately, so oh well. Oh & whats with taking the color out of the buttons though?? It'd be pretty righteous if they put small circles of color along the ring of the facebuttons. It'd be asking too much, but I wish they would redesign the bumpers too. They always felt a little stiff.
That sounded pretty negative in nitpick kind of way lol. Bottom line is its good, but it could be better.
I believe I read the Onza will come out sometime in October. I'm planning to get that instead first, then whenever this new 360 controller is in black with colored ABXY buttons that's when I'll get it. I actually wouldn't mind if the buttons were dark gray but the letters are in color, that would look cool to me.Razer better launch their Onza before Nov 2nd otherwise they might not get as many sales as they would have with this launching around the saem time.
