$65 for a controller the generation should have started with? Wow... MS sure is trying to get me to stop using the 360.
That looks sweet. Annoying that they only bundle it with a play and charge thoughNot a rumor anymore.

And why didn't this get released with the new slim console? I'm really starting to hate Microsoft. Give it six months after they release that silver controller and they'll come out with a black one to match the consoles.
Edit: Just watched the video, and I find it hilarious that they still found a way to keep that terrible disk d-pad design. What purpose does that disk have other than being annoying?
$65 That's completely and utterly ridiculous.
I doubt they'll bundle it with the low end slim as well.
It's about time they change that god awful d-pad, though I'm not about to pay more money for such a small albeit very important modification.
Yeah, just like other controllers expect different colors later on, also just like other controllers I think they made that old disk d-pad available because people might be use to it just like how people are use to a decade old controller design for the other console. And why didn't this get released with the new slim console? "The controller will only be available with the new Play & Charge Kit that will launch on November 9thfor US$64.99."
Enjoy the price-gouging Lems.
People should try THIS.
I just took a knife around the dpad to cut away the plastic. :3 It makes the dpad a LOT better.
The MRSP for a wireless controller is $49.99 and the Play and Charge Kit is $19.99. I'm still getting the Razer Onza first though."The controller will only be available with the new Play & Charge Kit that will launch on November 9thfor US$64.99."

[QUOTE="savebattery"]Props to Microsoft for finally fixing this, but this really never should have been an issue in the first place. They knew what a crappy d-pad it was when they first released it. And why not fix the d-pad BEFORE the hardware redesign? It would add just a little bit more value to the 360 S.SolidTy
Well, remember, they haven't announced or fixed anything yet...it's just a rumor.:(
The timing of the rumor is interesting due to the bad PR for The XBOX LIVE PRICE HIKE, and the coming of the handfree Kinect.

If this is true, the biggest complaint about the 360 is no more.
edit: not a rumor anymore. The 360 controller is officially the best controller this gen imo. :P

It only took them 5 years just like with standard WIFI
Same here. I guess they wanted to introduce this new controller as a Halo Reach Legendary Edition-ish type of controller. I'm getting the Razer Onza first then whenever this comes out in black with the ABXY back in color, that's when I'll pick one up and I'll finally have 4 controllers. The new controller looks cool, though I'm a bit disappointed they took away the button colors

lol, its a little late now lol. They shouldve did it with the new slim consoles. Makes more sense :Pnavyguy21
i agree but they will probably add this down the line to the console

Which changes my post's accuracy how? Every controller Sony sells comes with a Li-On rechargeable battery included, no expensive additional purchase necessary. They're also user-replaceable. That is bad enough with respect to Microsoft. Now they're raising the effective cost of entry to buy a controller (period) by $15.
If you can't see that you're being gouged between all of the over-priced accessories I just don't know what to tell you.
I mean this even goes for things as basic as HDDs..proprietary HDDs, what decade exactly are we supposed to be in, the 80s?
Interesting. It looks good, but I'm surprised they removed the color from the buttons. musicalmac
agreed but not a big deal, the new controller is very sharp

can you get a ps3 controller that works with PC games like you can for the 360? gouged with that too right? Sorry MS is doing well buddy.

Major Nelson: "We've heard from the community that you're not big fans of the d-pad"
He says it so 'by the by', as if there have been whispers on da streetz lately and not a massive internet buzz for the last 5 years. :P

They didn't raise the price, it's a bundle. Also you're not being gouged if you don't buy it or buy it at MSRP prices. And you're right we're not in the 80s, 90s, or in the past, that's why it would be nice if other console change their controller design to the standard now.omfg i want that controller. but not until it's cheapJandurin
it definitely is the best controller on the market asthetically.
[QUOTE="Jandurin"]omfg i want that controller. but not until it's cheapAnjunaddictIts only $65. Cheap as chips what kind of chips are you eating? computer chips? :o
I'll say what I said in the other thread.
360 controller is now perfect except for that price! What's with the MS milkage lately? Is the 360 truly on its last legs?

not just is it pretty but i goddamn hate the dpad on the current 360 controller.Haha Microsoft are geniuses. They upgrade and fix issues years after the console releases knowing that their fanbase with more money than sense will rush to pay for whatever MS offers them.
Good for MS, bad for early adopters. Actually all those 360 slim buyers were late adopters and still might end up spending to get the next best thing.
How hard can it be to get a D-pad right? :P Im not too bothered though, i barely use the D-pad.Anjunaddict
I think the problem is that the methods companies use are patented. So it's not like MS can just use Nintendo's method, from what I hear.

Anyway, i'm not too interested, the 360 pads great for most games, any other games I use the SF4 pad.

Pretty sure it's been selling better than the wii and ps3 past couple months.
10$ more then the DS3, and it still weighs more, has that wierd battery thingey underneath and doesen't have motion controll capabilites... M$ sure is ripping people off... chaplainDMKthe DS3 weighs too little.

Lol it weighs more, oh noes. And why would you need motion control capabilities when you don't need a controller for kinect?

Because Kinect is an inherently flawed control method that will offer very little to nothing to actual games in addition to costing one-hundred and fifty fricking dollars?
Im not digging the silver colors on the buttons -_-
I was wondering how badly this might mess up people in new games since the colours are different. i actually forgot the 360 controller had colors on the buttons >_> don't y'all just use the letters?[QUOTE="Espada12"]
