Introducing the new 360 controller with improved d-pad

About 5 years too late. And will they offer a trade-in for old controllers?

I originally bought my PS3 to play SF4 with a real Dpad so this gets rid of that old issue, now will they reveal that they have more exclusives coming too?

$65 for a controller the generation should have started with? Wow... MS sure is trying to get me to stop using the 360.

And why didn't this get released with the new slim console? I'm really starting to hate Microsoft. Give it six months after they release that silver controller and they'll come out with a black one to match the consoles.

Edit: Just watched the video, and I find it hilarious that they still found a way to keep that terrible disk d-pad design. What purpose does that disk have other than being annoying?

$65 That's completely and utterly ridiculous.

I doubt they'll bundle it with the low end slim as well.

It's about time they change that god awful d-pad, though I'm not about to pay more money for such a small albeit very important modification.

I just took a knife around the dpad to cut away the plastic. :3 It makes the dpad a LOT better.

The timing of the rumor is interesting due to the bad PR for The XBOX LIVE PRICE HIKE, and the coming of the handfree Kinect.

Which changes my post's accuracy how? Every controller Sony sells comes with a Li-On rechargeable battery included, no expensive additional purchase necessary. They're also user-replaceable. That is bad enough with respect to Microsoft.Now they're raising the effective cost of entry to buy a controller (period) by $15.

If you can't see that you're being gouged between all of the over-priced accessories I just don't know what to tell you.

I mean this even goes for things as basic as HDDs..proprietary HDDs, what decade exactly are we supposed to be in, the 80s?

can you get a ps3 controller that works with PC games like you can for the 360? gouged with that too right? Sorry MS is doing well buddy.

Haha Microsoft are geniuses. They upgrade and fix issues years after the console releases knowing that their fanbase with more money than sense will rush to pay for whatever MS offers them.


Good for MS, bad for early adopters. Actually all those 360 slim buyers were late adopters and still might end up spending to get the next best thing.

How hard can it be to get a D-pad right? :P Im not too bothered though, i barely use the D-pad.Anjunaddict

I think the problem is that the methods companies use are patented. So it's not like MS can just use Nintendo's method, from what I hear.

Anyway, i'm not too interested, the 360 pads great for most games, any other games I use the SF4 pad.

Pretty sure it's been selling better than the wii and ps3 past couple months.

10$ more then the DS3, and it still weighs more, has that wierd battery thingey underneath and doesen't have motion controll capabilites... M$ sure is ripping people off... chaplainDMK

Because Kinect is an inherently flawed control method that will offer very little to nothing to actual games in addition to costing one-hundred and fifty fricking dollars?
