Is PC gaming dying?

Talk about whether or not PC gaming will die or not!

And now for my opinion:

I'm honestly not too sure whether or not it will die or not. The PC has some games that are worth looking forward to, such as Wolfenstein, Left 4 Dead 2, Crysis 2, and Resident Evil 5, but PC gamers are still gonna miss out on Final Fantasy XIII, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, and that untitled Castlevania project. Yeah, i'm honestly not too sure if the PC community will stay strong in the next years, or if i should expect to a console version of Garry's Mod.

The PC community is extremely strong. It's not going anywhere.

A console version of Garry's Mod would be pretty funny, though.

No, PC is not dying at all, Starcrat II will be a huge event and besides it have tons of exclusives that consoles don't have.

Why did you put multiplat games for the PC then put games exclusive to consoles for consoles? I don't understand, those aren't even the PCs heavy hitters by a fair margin.

If PC gaming is dying, then console gaming is dead. There are over 250 million online PC gamers world wide and World of WarCraft alone nearly matches the entirety of Xbox Live subscribers.

There might be a bit of a revitalization from the recession slowing down the hardware race, but once that's over PC gaming is back to the enthusiast.

I dunno, i would assume that a console Gmod would be considerably crippled.

-No custom content, which is what Gmod is mainly about
-Contraptions and poses may become even more painful to make
-Okay, how exactly am i gonna make a comic when all my pics are on the console's hard drive instead of my PC's?

Considering how popular Final Fantasy is, i think that FFXIII's sales in the future would effectively overshadow the sales of whatever the best PC game is at that time. Whether this is would deal some considerable damage to PC gaming could be anyone's guess.

Pfft doubt it. Has the likes of Halo or MGS4 or any other big name done so much as to cripple it terribly? People got their dedicated fan base. There will still be plenty of people on WoW, CSS, TF2, etc etc.

For the last time... no pc gamign is not dead or dying.

PC still has better graphics, better selection of games, TONS OF USER MADE MODS, Much bigger option for controls (any controllers or keyboard and mouse).

It seems to me consoles are on life support while PC gaming is standing on its own.

I'm not saying consoles are dying; but they are in a worse state than PC gaming. If people think PC gaming is dying what does that say about platforms that have to pay to keep hold of their differentiators? Consoles are turning to films and social networks to differentiate themselves because they are increasingly less capable of competing with exclusives, the vast majority of exclusives have to be paid for.

Consoles are cramming everything they can find under their hood in a attempt to differentiate themselves. They are jumping on any bandwagon that will attract consumers attention and even paying out for exclusive content for cross platform games.

That is desperate behaviour. Who knows why people think a platform that can actually hang on to exclusives "without financial incentives" is in trouble; when Microsoft is setting up Facebook on their console to set themselves apart.

If PC gaming was dying I haven't noticed. I still do the majority of my gaming on PC.
