I always thought that you consollers never cared for the amount of pixels.
You want pixels buy a PC.
And MGS4 wasn't HD either, what gives?
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. Want Crisp, Clear and Crazy HD get a PC!Sweet, don't touch a thing, the visuals look fine. Also, it's Gears 3 coming for the kings crown so, just sayin. :P

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. Want Crisp, Clear and Crazy HD get a PC! Silly resolution differences doesn't mean anything to console gamers. Oh wait it does, just look at this thread.i guess they do it for purpose...but at least they are not as worse as activision's 540p ps3 black ops.
1152x720, well that's halo reach's resolution rite? so it's still acceptable i guess.
anyway, EA is more favor at PS3 now....look at their new released game, medal of honor, dante's inferno, and dead space 2, same price but ps3 version always get extra features and content.
IMO
Rockstar and Activision are on 360's side
EA and Valve are on PS3's side now
i guess they do it for purpose...

hell yeah on purpose; not enough juice in those consoles to go higher.
I love how screenshots on consoles look horrible, but screen shots on pc look awsome.
But on topic who cares, your playing on 5 year old hardware be happy you can even play new games.
i guess they do it for purpose...but at least they are not as worse as activision's 540p ps3 black ops.

It was explained already that the case is about EDRAM buffer. I don't mind 1154x720 because I barely notice a difference between it and true 720p. But Crysis 2 has a bunch of other problems and doesn't look as good as ppl hoped.

It has nothign to do with pc. PC has no auto aim and noobish community, sometimes ppl just want to kill as many noobs onlineas possilbe, and pc doesnt provide this platform. :D
but 360 version should have same resolutio as ps3. If they want to make it, it shouldnt be too hard.
anyway, it's sad about intense competition between ps3 and 360...
PS3 was f*ed by rockstar and activision, and now it's 360's term to get F*ed by EA..and maybe Valve soon...

well I can tell difference between 640p and 720p or 600p and 540p on my 46" TV....
but yeah 1152x720 should be hard to tell difference from true 720p.
PS3, which will probably be about the same visually.ironcreed
I am not sure but I wouldn't be so optimistic.

did i say it has something to do with PC? even console exclusives are not 1080p for the same reason.
you can't possibly say that PC has a noob community compared to consoles... you just... can't. and i consider autoaim as a bad thing.

I am sure it will be close enough, if not identical for the most part. I normally am not one to split hairs over a few minor differences in multiplats, so I'll be fine.
It DOES look like a blurry, aliased, mess.
Kinthalis
Also where is the per-object motion blur? Killzone 2 has this, while in this demo the whole picture, except the gun, blurs evenly, like it is DoF instead of blur.

Fun fact... Neither Gears or Metro is Sub HD... All of the games mentioned doesn't even have lighting that compares to Crysis 2. lol
Especially Uncharted 2. The lighting is so 2009.
I guess having no AF and simple lighting was fine for Uncharted 2 back then. Having better lighting tech is a no-no now.
Take a good look at how that RPG is being lit. It's just as bad as Gears 2.
NWA90s
You do realize that weapons glow white to indicate that they can be picked up, right? Since the RPG was knocked out of the guys hand, it's a weapon that can be picked up, hence why it is starting to give itself a white glow. Has literally nothing to do with the lighting, and you clearly havn't played Uncharted 2 MP enough to know this...
As far as the rest of the pic is concerned, it looks bad. However, I'd love for you to find me 15 more pics that look just as bad. I'm sure I could give you 100 great looking pics for every single bad one you show
he is a troll. I saw him posting this picture yesterday multiple times on different threadswell done for proving my point, what makes me think if somebody made a thread posting just Uncharted 2 multiplayer direct-feed shots, then asking if these represent the games graphics the thread would consist mainly of people saying:"way to post the worst shots you could find"
"the game looks far better in motion"
"these are multiplayer, the single player looks far better"
or just "these are fake".
yet apparently people are desperate to conclude 'IT'S OVER' for Crysis 2, before single player shots have even been shown or the game released

well i mean pc doesnt have noobish community...you probabably misunderstand me... a lot of ppl want to enjoy killing noobs...and pc doesnt provide this platform. That's what console fps is good at...sometimes noobish community is good.
WOW that quote in the TC's post and Russian is the same to me , anyways , I'm now even more anxious to see the ps3 version , things could get really interesting down here in sw.
Not surprising at all. This generation's consoles are not powerful enough to run at an HD resolution while keeping the game running at a high FPS with bells and whistles turned on.what a shocker.

Why are we even discussing Crysis 2 anymore, when are you consolites going to realize your braggin rights to this game becoming multiplat do NOTHING justice, not PC Gamers, not yourselves. its an empty shell of the potential that it could of had.Birdy09This. If anyone acctually expected Crysis 2 to look even remotely close to what the first installment looked like on the PC, you need to sign in at your local clinic. Its just not going to happen. Sadly, because of the obvious focus these guys gave to the console version of Crysis, the PC version will suffer as well. Thats how it seems to go, anyway. Oh well, Im sure most of us saw this coming.

"Consolites", lol. I don't know, some of us are just glad that we will be able to play the game. While some gamers on the PC simply want this game for graphical bragging rights, I just want to enjoy the game itself... which I will get to do. No, it obviously does not look like it will on a nice rig, but that is not going to make the game any less enjoyable for me. As I will be buying it to play and have fun with. Not to count pixels and stare at wall textures.

But just look at this thread. 20 pages of arguing over a couple of pixels, on consoles. This thread doesn't really have much to do with the PC version. It's "consolites" arguing what version will look better. While everyone knows the PC version will be a lot better. And i mean a lot.

I was not lumping all PC gamers into the 'TEh GrAfFiX WaRz' camp. I know better than that, but some obviously do only care about this game as a graphical showpiece. Although many console gamers were hoping for the same as well, yet it appears that it is not to be, lol. It still looks great from footage I have seen, though. I'll be happy with it.
Release the le err... I mean kraken.lbjkurono23Sorry i'm late. On topic: If you want graphics get the PC version.

What? You did not notice per object motion blur??Its pretty easy to notice it and IMO its the best implantation of motion blur on consoles.Camera motion blur(everything blurred except gun) and per object motion blur(characters and gun when they move). There is alot of samples which give it a very smooth and high quality look.
[QUOTE="Bus-A-Bus"][QUOTE="aia89"]
so what says SW? should we exclude Crysis 2 from the console graphics king battle?
gpuking
Of course not.Wait for SP.1152x720 is almostindistinguishable from 1280x720 at least for system wariors.I guess HDR,dynamic lighting and best post processing on consoles will have more influence on it than slightly reduced resolution.BUT,maybe PS3 version will be 1280x720 so who knows...
The thing is the game has a slew of other problems present, I'd be worried about severe pop ins, bad DOF, offensive aliasing, lack of any AF, shoddy temporal aa which really blurs the whole image and again, sub hd doesn't help it at all. Sure, HDR and GI looks stunning but the graphic in general is not balanced. I hope Crytek ditch a couple of effects maybe and at least cement that 1280 x 720 res in the final build. Bear in mind with 128 pixels less from the horizontal line you would be loosing almost 100000 pixels in total compared to the 1280 x 720 res.Only problems that i have are AF and some textures.About pop ins and AA i hope it will be fixed by the time SP gets done.DOF on Skyline interesting is really storng and kind of bad BUT on Pier 17 its MUCH better.Much less agressive and slightly blurring the background when aiming so you can focus on whats infront better.
I still think that Crytek with latest build of SP will fix everything bar resolution, its clearly that they put EVERYTHING in console version that was presented in highest settings of original bar AF,AA and res and that even KZ3 does not include as VOLUMETRIC God Rays,24/7 night cycle which means nothing can be prebaked, better post processing, real time global ilumination,HDR etc.I would be quite happy if they could fix AF and AA on SP build of the game and then resoltuion would not be a problem.

The problem with Crysis 2 blur is that it doesn't look like it has a direction. It just blurs evenly. Sorry, that's not the best implementation on consoles.

That's because arguments are the fundamental fuel of most forums out there. A written battle of perspectives, opinions, logical interpretations and preferences. 9 times out of 10, a tread based around a argument will gain plenty of attention. They are entertaining wen your bored, especially wen peeps that have no comprehension about what they write show up.

But what should it blur?Camera motion blur is in when you make fast turns around and it blurrs(in definition and C2) EVERYTHING bar gun.Object motion blur blurrs your gun when you reload or shoot and characters that are makin fast turns or moving quickly towards you.I think that KZ3 does not even have per object motion blur though KZ2 had it.
pffffffffffffffff ahahahahahahahaha
But it really is no wonder when the console's exclusives can't even do HD.
If you wanted to play it for the graphics (which is a pretty silly reason), you should play it on pc. I thought this was obvious, so why does it matter if it looks somewhat worse than what you were expecting on a console?cain006This is System Wars. Never question.
