[QUOTE="Heil68"][QUOTE="Homesrfan"] Handheld gaming is nothing to scoff at. Maybe you don't enjoy it, but some of the best games of this generation have been on handhelds. And DS continues to outsell EVERYTHING. If you don't have a DS (or a PSP, for that matter) you are missing out on a lot of fantastic games this generationInfinityMugenI own both a PSP and DS and couldn't disagree with you more. I'll never buy another handheld. Good for you, but handheld gaming still matters. In *your* opinion. Good for you!

But it matters to your kids?
You can turn it off.The Potential in the 3DS is what's got me interested but im not holding my breath, im betting most of the stuff from the really amazing looking games are pre-rendered.
And im not bothered about the £D thing, I'm happy with my 2D DS, I just hope theres an option to turn it off.

[QUOTE="nintendoboy16"] Because the Touch Screen acts as a second analog for some games789shadow
Which works terribly.
Really? Most people use it no problem.
All you have to do is read pretty much any review of mario 64 ds to know that isn't true.

Besides, having 2 analogs wouldn't mean every game would have to use them. It's a glaring omission, especially when there is apparently ample room, and in the exact right place no less, to include one.

It should have a second analogue, however it's not a deal breaker for me. Games which require them can use the touch screen i.e. shooters, good programming can solve the problem for other games. With the touchscreen controls, although it works well for shooters, it was uncomfortable (on my DS Lite anyway) and cramped my hand. Hopefully 3DS is more comfortable, but I honestly don't plan on buying many shooters.[QUOTE="789shadow"]

I haven't played Super Mario 64 but I don't think it used the touch screen as a second analogue. The DS had a D-pad, where as the original was on N64 where there was a single analogue stick. Didn't the touch screen work as a single analogue, not a second analogue? With the 3DS, you have the analogue stick to move your character and the touch screen to aim or look around. That's not how Mairo 64 worked.EDIT: I think Nintendo was thinking about putting dual sticks on the device, but they didn't so developers wouldn't completely ignore the touch screen since some of the best (and most innovative) games on the DS use the touch screen a lot.
