Kevin Vanord's last.

Even as a cow I have to say...wtf Gamespot?
Since when can remasters get 10s?
these.
Makes me wonder why TLoU:R stayed at the original review score of 8/10 for the PS4 review...
Also, Kevin is leaving? holy shit.... he was the last rational sensible and truthful reviewer around here.

Because scores are essentially arbitrary and a game can be re-evaluated on its own terms over time.
Haven't played the game so won't be one to judge. But if its a remaster.... damn Kevin, why did you have to go the Makuch way on your farewell?
I loved the game on ps3.. I love the game on ps4... But what the **** is this rescoring of remaster?

yeah.... they had the perfect opportunity to re-evaluate that 8/10 score with the release of the Remastered PS4 port....
it doesnt matter if scores are arbitrary, the point is im trying to figure out the logic and deal with GS and their reviews. Because the reality is that the give out scores and they will continue to give out scores.
I see that Journey still holds the title of being the James Cameron's Avatar of video games.
Considering how successful Avatar was this is a compliment to Journey.

This is Vanord, not some group.
The notion that a piece can't be re-evaluated over time is absolutely ludicrous. This can be applied for books, film, music, etc. Just look at the initial reviews of the lauded pieces within these mediums and you'll see this is the case. A score shouldn't be set in stone.
And being butthurt over The Last of Us has more-so to do with the reviewer than some limited guidelines you're holding against it.

Sure, if that's how you want to interpret it. I mean, both received critical and commercial success despite being shallow pieces of garbage, and both made me seriously question anyone's mental health if they were somehow brought to tears by such shit, but sure whatever, it's a compliment.
Weird. Still a 9/10 since that's the game's original score. Wonder why they changed it since all the ps4 had was a 1080p 60fps uplift.
The 10/10 score isn't meaning much any more. They just handed out 3 in less than a year.
Yeah, i'm noticing that too. Bayonetta 2, TW3 and now Journey?
There where only 7 or 8 games to get a perfect 10 in more than 15 years in GS history. Now there's 3 in less than 1?
yeah, uh, ok.
A 10/10 game on the Playstation 4? Excellent.
I can't wait for the usual half-wits to come in here and try and spin this as a bad thing.
This is the type of game people want to push on us.
It's artistic, entirely original, I'd recommend playing it a few times, but in no way is it a 10. It'll last you a few hours in all and after that, forgotten. I got it on PS3, played it twice in all, got it on PS4 for "free" and played it again, and that's it. And there's not enough to it. I wish it was more of a puzzle. It could have been fairly easily and would have made it a pretty great game but you just can't lose. You walk, forward. Sometimes looking for bits of cloth in the ground to help you limp along faster. It's beautiful, but so is my painting Hunters in the Snow and that's not a 10/10 game either.

Avatar was praised mainly for its technical merits, whereas Journey is praised for pushing the medium (which really isn't saying much.)
Disagree on their merits all you want, but your comparison doesn't stand.

You should make your own review site, but here on GameSpot? It's a 10.

I dont know why you are arguing with me and getting upset.
I agree that thins can be re-evaluated, do you understand me.
I know scores shouldnt be taken as the word of GOD.
TLoU is 10/10 for me either way, Im am wondering why it wasnt re-evaluated (like you say things can be) when this game, Journey, was bumped from 9/10 on PS3 to 10/10 on PS4.

apparently if the games are good enough. Playstation and nintendo have had exclusive games of this quality virtually every generation. On that note, why haven't PC and xbox received any? Guess they are not given out THAT easy lol.

The acceleration in giving out 10s is pretty obvious.
Besides, The witcher is pc series.

lol, and exactly how did Journey push the medium? You walk, the end. Just like Avatar, it has no substance; it's a bunch of pretty colors with wind blowing in the background. A video game that receives such monumental praise should be praised for actually having praise worthy gameplay, as a movie should be praised for actually having a story of any substance. Instead, people were brought to tears on flash alone for both, and so I think my comparison stands perfectly.
no doubt the game is great (haven't played it myself but love flOw and Flower), but three 10s in less than a year, they need to slow down or it's not gonna mean anything

Them higher PC standards
"If our standard of comparison for PC games was "the console version," the PC version would get a higher score than the others over 90% of the time."

I know you're trying to be edgy or witty but it just comes off as immature and angry. I don't know what Avatar and Journey did to wound you so deeply but it might be time to move on. It's just entertainment.
for the record: I'm indifferent to Avatar and haven't even played Journey
