I was a total fanboy with my 360 (which I had since launch) but all of my friends with consoles have the PS3 so I just reluctantly traded in my 360 for a PS3 so that I could play online with my friends.

I was totally expecting to be totally dissapointed with the PS3 but happy that I could at least play with people online.

To my suprise, the PS3 is a MUCH BETTER SYSTEM!!!!!

This is for a bunch of reasons:

-Sure the 360 controller is better than the PS3's, but the PS3's is still the basic Dualshock set-up which is incredible (plus a rumble enabled version is coming out next year)! Yeah the R2 and L2 buttons on the PS3 controller are too slippery, but you actually get used to it.

-The PS3's console physically looks much much cooler. I was in denial about this for a while, but really there is no comparison here.

-The single biggest factor is the interface. The PS3's interface is just absolutely incredible - it is incredible clean and logical and pleasing to the eye. The 360's is practical but very cluttered. This applies not only for the homepage, but for the online store! I mean the PS3 online store is like an actual online store that you shop at which is really cool.

-The main versions of each console are the same price ($399) but the PS3 comes with built in wi fi (for the 360 you have to spend an extra $129 for this!).

-The PS3 supports bluetooth headsets which is very cool (but I'll admit that the standard headset thing going with the 360 is better for consistent online chatting in terms of quality and people being able to easily mute their mic easily).

-Can't complain about a built-in Blue Ray player.

So I'm not trying to start a flaming war, I'm just shocked that I actually thought the 360 was better! After trading it in for a Playstation 3, there is really no comparison for me - the PS3 is actually a lot better!

With the PS3 price drop, I would bet my house on the PS3 beating the 360 in sales now!

There are many who are like you were: in denial that the PS3, if you sum up the pro's and con's, is simply the better system. The only thing is the waiting for top titles sucks. But they'll come and then people won't even remember M$ ever making a console.

This games argument will be invalid within a couple of months. What will you come up with then, when the PS3 has the better hardware (don't even try to argue about this) AND the better games?

Fakeboy. No one in their right mind would trade in a $400+ system they loved, for another $400+ systemt they didn't want. If you really wanted us to believe you, you should have said your 360 broke on you, and being fed up with that just decided to get PS3 - than we might have believed you.

Only 10% of the 360 game library areshooter games. The PS3 has about the same ratio. Try again.

I disagree. WiFi may not directly influence the gaming experience but it simply is easier to go online with it than without. This makes for better online gaming capabilities in absolute sense in my opinion. Whether Bluray improves the gaming experience isn't clear yet. However I simply can not imagine that having more space to work with won't improve the quality of games in the future. Several ames are coming that couldn't have been done without Bluray (FF13) according to their devs, so I would say it's quite probable Bluray will be improving the gaming experience in the future.

Whats going to happen in a couple months? Haze? Sorry but Haze = fail. Little Big Planet will be fun, MGS4 (if it isn't delayed again) will be fun, but the 360 has something called a backlog of AAA games that most people will find time to play in the spring, not to mention the '08 titles coming...

NielsNL

Do you have experience with WiFi? Its pretty much horrible, any lag at all = unacceptable. Hardwire connections are not difficult to hook up, don't know where you're getting this easier to go online with it than without thing.

Oh, and FF13 isn't going to hit the states until at least mid '09, I'd start finding better games to justify the Blu-Ray argument...

So far the only one that MIGHT justify Blu-Ray is Gran Turismo 5. Not the tech demos, the actual game, and only if the car count is what they promised and there are mroe than 5 tracks.

With the PS3 price drop, I would bet my house on the PS3 beating the 360 in sales now!

spidadragon1

Notice the only thing he doesnt talk about, the GAMES!, thats what matters, and what he does talk about is just an opinion that can be argued over greatly

he's talking about consolve vs. console

not 360 games vs. PS3 games

But you cannot compare two consoles without even mentioning the games, THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE CONSOLE!

I agree with this statement 100%, but if you were pretending that you just sold your 360 for a PS3 and were trying to defend that boat anchor with your life, you'd probably try to argue anything BUT the games too.

This games argument will be invalid within a couple of months. What will you come up with then, when the PS3 has the better hardware (don't even try to argue about this) AND the better games?

Yea, exept when the PS3 does get good games, it will still be my opinion and yours if the games are actually good.

True

BUT: Remember the following games that are coming: FF, GT5 and MGS4

Now remeber those titles and look at the wikipedia list of best selling video games ever. All three ip's are in there, some with more than one iteration. So you might be right it's just opinion: it IS the opinion of a LOT of gamers.

basicly you just proved you are indentifying yourself with a product you bought like all the silly fanboys.

You were a 360 fanboy before and now you're turning into a PS3 fanboy.. changing teams and adapting your opinion to the situatuin at hand.

I don't agree with everything you said but i do hold the XMB to high regards.

It's so proven, clean and intuitive that it's used in Bravias, Sony Ericsson mobiles and more eletronics each day.

And it won an Emmy: Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Best Use of Personal Media Display and Presentation Technology.

All Ps3 lacks in my opnion is more great games.

Good luck with that PS3 and put me on your friends list my PSN id is Riverwolf, I'm sure at some point I will play it again.

There are many who are like you were: in denial that the PS3, if you sum up the pro's and con's, is simply the better system. The only thing is the waiting for top titles sucks. But they'll come and then people won't even remember M$ ever making a console.

And if you read my point about Bluray I'm adimitting it's unclear whether Bluray will be essential to gaming or not. How does the fact that FF13 comes in 2009 (according to you) in any way makes it invalid as an example of a game of which the devs say it couldn't be done w/o BR? Because that's all I'm saying about it.

the ps3 is a better, more powerful console. supposedly.

but right now, the games are on the 360. on 2008, the main guns are announced for the ps3. for 360, only a few are announced. but to deny the fact that more will be announced is plain ignorance of business/marketing.

There a lot of people that this has happened too, they simply jumped the gun and bought the first "next-gen" console. Playstation 3 is probably without a doubt the best console, and thats not saying 360 is a bad console. If you want the most out of this gen you should get a PS3 if you can't get all consoles, its more affordable and you get all the great multi-plats plus the great exclusives.

My point is not invalid because you are 1 person, truth is WiFi gaming has far more instances of lag than hardwire gaming...a method which I'm sure anybody in their right mind would prefer.

Final Fantasy 13...we know nothing about it. Nothing at all. A few CGI screens, 1 or two gameplay screens, we know that the White Engine is in major trouble, and that its been turned into a multi-platform engine.

There was that interview in Dengeki PS3, but come on now...that flat out bled "fake". So we can't say anything about Blu-Ray being needed for it.

Just let him just sit in his room and think about how awesome the PS3's hardware is. He'll find that it isn't very entertaining after a bit.
