THe funny thing is that you have to compare KZ2 to Crysis. No console game matches KZ2's impressive lighting.

..Halo 3's global lighting is the best I've seen in any game. Gears of War's high dynamic range lighting is the best I've seen projected onto any character model. Theres nothing impressive about Killzone 2 other than the fact it matched its 2 and a half year old target render. By todays visual standards its not the most impressive.

COD4 matches it in nearly every way except for animation, sadly, the quality of a game isn't by its animation.

and for immersion, COD1 brought that years ago and many games continue to today so i mean its a good looking game for consoles but ultimately its just an FPS, cover=done LAST GEN, co-op= PRE DATES THE CAVEMEN

TBH you are hyping this game way too much, it defintly looks like a good game and likely better, those features metioned will make it fun and good to play but you have just dug your own grave

This thread and threads like it, are why people make fun of the PS3. If cows were more grounded in reality, the ridicule would not be that bad. It is a joke that the TC believes KZ2 will come any where near the quality of Crysis. Get a grip on reality dude. Crysis is the most advanced game out.

KZ2 has a lot to prove, you can not say that KZ2 will own crysis. Besides, aren't you people tired of hyping graffix? how will the game play? Crysis plays beyond awesome. How will KZ2 differentiate itself from the other 871867817860606 FPS's out there? The character models already highly resemble COD4, as does the running animation. They better have some super hidden stuff up their sleeves if they want to stand out. It might be a good game when it releases, but it could suck. You are hyping a game thats like 6 months from release, and solely on graffix.

You have been watching all the same vids everyone else on here has watched TC. Where is the revolution? I see the lighting is spectacular, but its not any revolution. Have you been invited to a private viewing of the latest build at GG to know it is revolutionary? The game looks great, leave it at that. When its closer to release, and they show more levels, and actual gameplay mechanics, then you can make a thread.

I knew someone was going to say that. :roll: It's warfare and one level doesn't represent the entire game. If anyone has play the Killzone series (which I doubt), everyone should know that Killzone had many enviroments such as swamps, trenches, jungles, urban areas, and deserts.

Hate to say it but I've yet to see anything revolutionary from killzone 2, Crysis is the benchmark like HL2. Unless GG completely revamp kz2 (which they won't) then have no chance in hell of revolutionizing the fps or even putting a dent into it.

It's no secret Sony is working on an answer for the popular Halo franchise on the XBOX 360. From its controversial unveiling back in E3 2005 up until now, GG and Sony have taken a lot of heat in regards to KILLZONE 2. Can it deliver? Will it deliver? YES, yes it will.

There are many people out there that want this game to flop. There are many that envy the game and claim it will suck simply because the first iteration was rushed out of the gate (and was still a very good game just had a few bugs). However, mark my words, KILLZONE 2 will completely revolutionize the FPS genre for many, many years to come.

From its lighting engine (which is currently the MOST advanced lighting engine to ever be incorporated into a game) to its fantastic graphics, there is no area in KILLZONE 2 where GG and Sony have overlooked. Speaking of lighting engine, currently no game uses all of the advanced features KILLZONE 2's lighting engine uses. My guess is that it will be ages ahead of other games lighting such as Alan Wake.

GG has done an amazing job using the power of the CELL BROADBAND ENGINE and RSX (which work in perfect harmony btw) to create the ultimate FPS experience. The environments in the game are so beautifully rendered that the expectations are to immerse players in an intense theater of war. Every sound, every image, every experience one experiences in war will be iincorporated into this game.

It's no surprise that media outlets such as BBC have referred to KILLZONE 2 as "one of the most cinematic and immersive games ever produced on a console." This game is shaping up to be a revolution in the FPS genre. The highly advanced physics system already renders every other console FPS obsolete.

And with the added support of the Blu-Ray disc medium, I think it is safe to say the game will be a revolution, allowing GG a broad canvas to incorporate their creativity/ideas to please the consumer. I can't wait to play this game on my 40" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV and Sony surround sound system! What do you guys think of the game?

I read the quote in his sig, and honestly, he shouldnt be toting that quote around. by comparison to another console (360) the ps3 has inferior RAMM space/quality.

this means that th PS3 cant processs A.I anywhere near as well as the PS3, this means that PS3 games will always have inferoir A.I, this means dumber enemies and that means a floundering experiance.

Here we go again. Hyping (insert Sony FPS) as the Halo killer. When will you guys learn? The first Killzone got outscored by Geist. For this game to go from crap to better then Halo 3 would be the most amazing achievement in the history of video games. I hype this game as AA it will be good. Actually, I think the gameplay looks great and I like the first-person cover. Only problem with it is the linear style but one level doesn't always represent the whole game. Remember Halo 3? Bungie promised huge enviroments but the 1st,2nd, and 4th levels weren't.

I would rather wait until there's more info on the game (multiplayer, etc) and the previews a month before the game releases.

After playing the awful Killzone, I just don't see why everyone is so excited about Killzone 2? The developer has not really developed anything substantial. Liberation was ok but on PSP. Killzone and Nam 76 both flopped. Sure they are putting alot of resources into the game, but that does not guarantee a fun and exciting game.

How does Killzone revolutionize when games like Crysis and Bioshock look much better.

Also, why is everything gray in KZ2, even skin tone?

Then I don't know howyou think the graphics look mediocre considering that the game ran smoothely and looked fantastic in motion. Sure the textures weren't that great but that didn't mean that the whole game looked bad. Still, it's in pre-alpha so who knows if it's going to improve heavily in graphics from this year to next year. ;)

i agree with you 100% crysis looks amazing and plays amazing......all i know from this article is KZ2 looks good, the first KZ looked good with its lighting but the gameplay was seriously flawed idk why anyone would hype a mediocre game like KZ. trade in ur ps3 and upgrade ur pc to play a REAL FPS like crysis.

I'm sorry but all I'm doing is stating my honest opinion on what iv seen so far, i don't have the magic powers of seen into the future like most cows do so i cant really say if the graphics will improve or not. And if you think I'm judging the game off screens then you are wrong, iv seen every gameplay video and i was not impressed, i just don't know why cows are hyping this game at all, you just better hope the games graphics greatly improve by release because atm they look like rubbish.

Every texture in killzone 2 is a shade of grey, cows will say "but so is gears" but really thats not true. The textures are also very un-detailed and the environments look really bad, and i don't know why the lighting's being hyped, halo 3 has better lighting, so does crysis, alan wake and many other games. The only thing impressive in killzone 2 is the animation, NOT the graphics...
