Jesus, it's 2016 and these consoles cannot hit 60fps with 1080p? Has that not been the standard on pc since around Half Life 2? I dont get it, I dont see any reason that make me want to switch back to consoles, from my pc that ive had for 2.5 years now. I see zero reason.
Lems in desperation mode, scrambling to find out why this game has let them down again and again. I say we just all play it and be happy, even though its now a multiplat and 720 sub 30 FPS.

Sill, I do agree with you. These consoles have their limits and the bar is pretty low. If I could trade better asset quality, or more importantly, better performance in exchange for 1080p, I'd gladly take it with a lot of games. Seriously, I would have been all over a 720p version of Bloodborne if it meant no more stuttering or frame dips.
The game is outputting in 1080p natively, it's rendering certain in game aspects and effects at 1280x720, this was already discussed last year in the SigGraph development breakdown.
NO is not and DF didn't found 1 trace of 1080p pixel count on all the footage they analyse...lol

No, it renders in 720p itself, but the Xbox One seems to upscale it to 1080p.
This isn't possible, the UI's are native 1080p so the render is 1080p, there's some type of proprietary and unique rendering technique taking place within the game itself.
Yeah is a new technique call "Bluff Rendering"" it involves the developers claiming the game to be a certain resolution then delivering one that is lower than the claimed resolution,is quite common on xbox one,The witcher 3 has it as well.

I'm with you though, if you have a good gaming PC there is no good reason to jump on these consoles. This is the first gen ever where 95+% of my gaming is on the PC. Most of the games are there in much better form.
I keep a WiiU and PS4 around for exclusives, but that's about it.
My advice is to anyone who buys the game, is to enjoy it because that's what will make the cows here mad, as we all know cows are never happy when people from another platform gets to enjoy a game they can't.

I commend Uncharted 4 for sticking to the 1080P guns for SP. I'm not entirely sure what looks better at this point, but by the end of the gen I'd be really surprised to see any more 1080P visual blockbusters.

We were promised 1080p gaming at 60FPS, the X1 failed miserably and the PS4 is not far behind. The big hitter for MS, QB is running at 720p under 30FPS. UC4 was promised to run at 1080p at 60FPS, now its running at half that.

Uncharted was targeting 60 FPS but with the level or visuals it has i don't think it would have get close,alto unlike QB Uncharted is 1080p.

Lol, in the end, holistically and functionally, I don't think the Xbox One is shitty at all- as I said, it is a cheap, reasonably powerful console that plays most games from this generation, has a great online service, with a lot of multimedia functionality, a great controller, and very good reliability. Having a massively overpowered PC just kills the need for consoles. There is nothing on consoles that interest me that I can't already play on my PC. I'm currently having a blast playing DR3. If I could get the full fat Forza games on PC, I'd have zero need for my X1.

Game isn't native 1080p. Every game on Xbone/PS4 has final image output 1080p. Render output is something else. Remedy said at Siggraph that final image output is 1080p. Doesn't mean it is full 1080p.

That doesn't mean the game itself doesn't have other rendering resolutions taking place internally but it's actually outputting natively at 1080p.

Rendering at a native 1920x1080, Sony's platform gives a far crisper looking image at every turn, flattering the game's foliage-heavy details at range. Meanwhile, the promised 'dynamic resolution' solution on Xbox One doesn't appear to hit the 1080p target in any of our samples. Instead, for the most part the game renders at 1600x900, with only video cut-scenes providing true 1080p output for any noticeable length of time.

Witcher 3 has menus in 1080p, but render output is 900p on Xbone. HUD in Halo 5 is 1080p, but Halo 5 barely hits 1080p. Mostly is hovering aroung 900p or lower.
Yes, but the output is native 1080p, that is how the UI remains at 1080p because it's natively being outputted, it's not being upscaled. The game itself doesn't need to render at 1080p for it to output natively at 1080p, the game could be upscaled internally from a lower resolution with all the menus and UI being native, but in order for that to take place it has to output natively. If the aforementioned didn't output at 1080p then the menu's and UI would simply be a lower resolution as well with an upscale.
I'll be playing this on PC but I can't believe for a second they would release this with 1080p UI and 720p gameplay on X1 there's just no way. They would literally be a laughing stock. Lots of people on this thread are already assuming that's exactly what's going to happen when the truth is nobody has any idea what the final code will reveal.

They said it themselves... The rendering output is native 1080p, this is why the UI's are full HD, but they're not exactly sure the way things are rendering or what the resolution is within the game itself.

I am sorry to say but you are wrong. The final resolution is natively whatever the GPU pumps out and this case it would be 1080p. This game is most likely deferred rendered allow for various image based effects to be rendered at a lower resolution. This method is used in CG to reduce render times while maintaining the overall quality and resolution. Do not confuse this with upscaling because its not.
