they need to get an emergency injection of Naughty Dog animators STAT. No wonder Sam Lake can't wait to sink his teeth into Uncharted 4.

@charizard1605: I believe you on being sensitive to frame drops, but since that's the case I'm surprised you can play games at all. Almost every game, no matter on what console has a frame rate drop or two from time to time.
@charizard1605: If you read most of the DF articles they even state most games are identical on both consoles with maybe a screen tear here or there or a frame drop here and there present on X1 but absent on PS4. I've played all kinds of multiplats on my X1 and they have performed well. And look at all the exclusives on X1 that hits 1080p 60 fps. Or even 1080p 30fps and suffers from no hiccups in performance. Of course I'm open to any kind of proof you have to prove me wrong and I'll revoke my statement.
But like I said, I am extremely sensitive to framerate drops- in general, I get motion sickness from games very easily. Framerate drops, even minor ones, are an issue for me. For instance, MK8's multiplayer mode had this problem at launch where it skipped every 60th frame- and though that is imperceptible for most people, it was enough of an issue for me to avoid the online multiplayer until it was patched out. Periodic framerate drops may be minor to a lot of people- but they legitimately matter to me!
I could be wrong but I think that was just the single player mode where that happened. Then online or offline multiplayer it didn't happen.
Sounds crazy but you can notice when it hits 59 because it happened like clockwork.
Right- then I was avoiding the offline singleplayer. What I remember is that I didn't get around to playing it properly for a while, until it was patched out in... I want to say August?
But yeah, I am freakishly sensitive to framerate drops. Most first person games (including Fallout and The Witness) make me sick. Bloodborne was hell once I got to Old Yharnham.
Haven't you heard, its a new gameplay mechanic called dub-step dancing.

oop lol Expecting a full radio silence from lems about Quantum Break being a generation's graphics king.
We'll see how Quantum Break resolution and frame rate fares upon release (I don't trust the current April 2016 date due to previous QB delays and AW delays).
LOCK THIS THREAD, it's all fake.

That's a quote of mine from about 7 months ago, haha.
Here's the nearly 7 month old thread where a fanboy was lying and claimed Remedy won Siggraph 2015 (they didn't) which was unfair to the actual Siggraph winners.

I know. lol Just reading it made me laugh as it was clearly an accurate foreboding lol
It only looks good when you sit far away from your tv screen, XD
You play 720p Wii U games.
PS4 has more 1080p games than 900p games.
He doesn't play Wii U games, he hates consoles in general.
Can you not bring Nintendo up in an argument that literally has nothing to do with them? Can you just not bring Nintendo up for once in general? You have a bizarre fixation with them.
This guy has a second account. You know him. He has a Wii U - and it's hilarious to point it out because he won't ever stay quiet about the PS4 and PSVR's graphical inferiority. And to be honest, he's not really adding much to the discussion with his typical drive-by "900pStation dumb cows ahaha" jokes anyways under this second account. He does get really quiet whenever I bring up his hypocrisy about graphical standards, which means it works.
And bringing up the Wii U makes as much sense as bringing up the PS4 in this thread (as you and many others have). Just because Nintendo kind of fell out of the race early doesn't mean their mistakes are ancient history or irrelevant (MS and Nintendo share a lot in common with their mistakes when we look back on things). To give more "conversational gravity" to this QB news, we need to bring in more context and recent comparisons about why this MS situation is getting really serious. You can't just laugh at QB's 720p resolution and leave it at that. Why is a highly-anticipated game like QB in 720p going to be problematic in the long run? What does it mean for MS in the larger competitive space this generation? Who are they competing with? Just Sony? Isn't there a third big company named Nintendo? Are there previous examples of the mainstream audience quickly losing interest in a console - and why? (I can think of no better example than the one you don't want me to name). Has hardware/average graphical resolution mattered to the mainstream consumers, or never mattered? How is Nintendo off-topic here when everyone here is laughing at MS and bringing up its yin-yang twin PS4 as well? PS4 is an example of where Xbox One wants to be. Wii U is an example of where they kind of don't want to end up.
To put it simply - MS is running into problems because they are not successfully measuring up to that promised Median Line that a majority of gamers wanted. Nintendo ran into this problem too, and that's why we're almost sure they won't be making the NX another 720p console. I didn't say Nintendo owners didn't or can't have fun with the Wii U. I'm saying Nintendo messed it up with their hardware decision, and fell behind MS and Sony because of that. None of these big three are "off topic" when discussing the whole panorama of Generation 8. "720p talk" is one very small element of the discussion that needs to be enlarged in order to have more weight and significance. I will always bring up Nintendo and Sony if it paints a better picture for MS and Lemmings. I could just come in and laugh with "720p lol," or I could explain further why things like this will become a problem and future headache for a company, and that is when strong parallels and recent comparisons will be brought in.
Lastly - I don't care if a few games just happen to end up 720p/900p. Sometimes it's done because certain games do have a lot of stuff going on, and can still look good. But when 80%-90% of the game library end up that way, then we have to take a look at the competition and what they're doing and see whether it's far better or far worse. And over there on the Best Buy shelf 5 feet away there's a PS4 that's at a similar price, that delivers more 1080p experiences and a bigger jump over last gen than the other two. It's not a surprise where gamers chose to go when it came to home consoles.
Lems = REKT
What is the point of owning an Xbone? To play PC ports at 720p?
I don't own an Xbone and yet I can play the game lems have been hyping all year at 1080p/60fps while lems play at 720p/30fps. This is embarrassing

The day the PC gets Forza games in full, not this sudo-free to play bullshit will the day I get rid of my X1.
@spicymeatball27: Dat damage control. Don't bring PS4 into this. PS4 is not the console that is running its biggest game of the year at a lastgen framerate and resolution. Usually when PS4 takes a hit to resolution it's usually to get better framerates (i.e. 60fps), and there is no PS4 game that runs at 720p. Xbone takes a hit to resolution and is still at 30fps. If Uncharted 4 was running at 720p/30fps you would have a point but it isn't. PS4 is weaker than gaming PCs but it's not underpowered for its price. Xbone however, is an underpowered piece of shit.
Well that's it then... The game is ruined now because it's not 1080p all the time. No use buying it I guess.
I thought something was up with this game especially with the outdoor environments. You could just see the fidelity asking is too much it can look beautiful, but increase the scenery or have effects engaged its just too much for xboxone. Its actually good to see in away MS first party games genually tend to be more aggressive with this stuff compare to 3rd party. Halo 5 was very very aggressive with adaptive resolution and adaptive fidelity but maybe this takes the cake. TPS games tend to ask too much with very high animations but QB also does a lot of shit.
@dynamitecop:
So, you know better than DF? Did you counted some pixels? Do you have a proof that QB is NATIVE 1080p?
They said it themselves... The rendering output is native 1080p, this is why the UI's are full HD, but they're not exactly sure the way things are rendering or what the resolution is within the game itself.
I called it before this gen even started. Before you know it, most of these graphics-pushing games on consoles will be 720p.
@Chutebox: So you're a liar? You said you can play QB and you have a PS4. But that's obviously not true. You need a capable PC to play it if you don't own an X1. Which ultimately proves my point this is an advantage for X1 over PS4.

How is this an advantage for Xbox? You don't need an xbox to play QB either.
@Zero_epyon: It's an advantage for Xbox because it's on the X1 maybe? Duh. And it's also not on PS4. Thus giving it an advantage for Xbox over PS4.
@KHAndAnime:
U4 is clearly above those graphics and it's 1080p.
MP is only 900p. Also bet on frame-rate problems the Bore 4 is only 30% more powerful than the X1.
but that's for 60fps. QB is still 30fps
Uncharted 4 is only 30fps in single player and I bet you are going to see some issues. These Consoles need those upgrades as soon as possible. Xbox One needs them by the start of next year.

...uh yeah. The point was still that it is 1080p/30fps with detailed graphics, while QB is apparently 720p/30fps

Didn't Remedy said it was 1080p? I believe them over Eurocow any day.

If this is true, I might sell my Xbox One and games. This might be the final straw. They really need to do something about the weak hardware. Upgrade or something.

What the hell are you smoking?
@dynamitecop:
In article there isn't a single word about final render image is 1080p.
In many games you can find HUD at 1080p and final render image output is not 1080p.
Anyway, game is 720p :
http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=198666839
"Curiously, the paper also states Xbox One's final output is 1920x1080, and that's where there is some confusion - as we've yet to see evidence of full HD 1080p gameplay in close analysis - barring the title's HUD elements and menus."
If the HUD elements during gameplay are 1080p then that means that the rendering output is also natively 1080p, that doesn't have to mean the internal resolution of the game render is, but its output is. If the game had a rendering output of 720p those UI elements would be upscaled from 1280x720 to 1920x1080 which is not the case.
I don't see how one post from a user on Neogaf means anything, there's layers of things going on here that even Digital Foundry can't figure out, this is exactly why they are approaching Remedy, it's a more complex scenario than is seen in other games and clarification is needed.
Lems in desperation mode, scrambling to find out why this game has let them down again and again. I say we just all play it and be happy, even though its now a multiplat and 720 sub 30 FPS.
Good thing I pre-order last night, eh? :x
One good thing is I get two versions for one price. :)
