lol i have being waiting for this game for months, with 8 days to go my 360 has just died, it was a launch console but i am pissed Kevanio:lol:
That's horrible.
[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Zero5000X"]i might just wait for the PS3 version.saolin323
There IS no PS3 version, and there never will be. MS owns the rights to the first ME.
So, since it is a connected trilogy, there will never be a Mass Effect on PS3, not that MS would allow it anyway And Bioshock is RECONFIRMED only on 360/PC after latest rumors of it coming to PS3 So, all in all, no ME1-2-3, no Bioshock on PS3As of right now, ME 2 and 3 = maybe, Bioshock = no
lol i have being waiting for this game for months, with 8 days to go my 360 has just died, it was a launch console but i am pissed KevanioI had a similar experience.
3 weeks before Halo 3, my 360 decided ( though I bragged all the time mine worked fine ) broke and quickly moved to get it sent in for repair.
No Kidding - My replacement came to my home on 9-25-07, Halo 3 launch date ! :D
Hope you can get a quick fix !
Verge: Riddle me this: how does levelling work?
I just had a mini-brainstorm session, and a large portion of my enjoyment of RPGs resides in my fanatical obsession with gaining new levels. How do you gain experience? And how do you use that experience to make your guy stronger? Are there base upgrades given your person as well as points that you distribute into specific skills? Are there skill trees?
Jandurin
You gain EXP by, of course killing foes, completeing side-quests, and the other predictable stuff. How you spend the EXP is anything but traditional though. You earn a number of points, such as 6 or 7, that you can use to 'spend' on upgrading things like your armor, weapons, the recoil/damage of said weapons, your health, your persuasion, your hacking skills, your speed, etc. etc. etc. There is just SO much you can upgrade....

If the story is good and it has that format of levelling, I'll play this game more than once.
[QUOTE="TheSystemLord1"]I think we can all safely say that when Jeff said that another 10 would be given on Gamespot, maybe sooner than we all think...he was referring to this game...no doubt about it.jbeen

It was in the review guide to the new system. I vaguely remember it but can't dig up the feature. When discussing the Prime rating he said that it can happen again and will happen again someday, maybe sooner than we all think.

It wont come, maybe a pc version in 2-3 years...
just like the PS3 version of Bioshock would never come?
it wont:|

There IS no PS3 version, and there never will be. MS owns the rights to the first ME.
No, BioWare owns the rights to Mass Effect and EA will own them as of January. EA or Sony could just publish the PS3 version. you know how EA is, they love multiplats.
I'm sorry, but MS owns the rights to the first ME. They Published it,a fter all. It's stated in all the articles. EA will Publish any Bioware games AFTER it, and THAT is when they will own the rights to the games.
MS doesnt own the rights to Mass Effect.
They own the exclusive publishing rights for the first ME.

Thats funny. My 360 died on me yesterday but I had a replacement plan at Best Buy so I got a brand new. Sucks for you.

Wishful thinking. Too bad it doesn't work that way. Any contract signed between Microsoft and Bioware regarding Mass Effect cannot be touched by EA unless A) Both parties agree to dissolve the contract or B) the contract expires on a specific event.
When you take over a company, you have to honor all prior commitments.
MS doesnt own the rights to Mass Effect.
They own the exclusive publishing rights for the first ME.
The basis of this is... stop waiting for the PS3 version of the game. Even if it does happen (and it wont) it will be a good year or more and you will have missed one of the best games ever made. Do yourself a favor and pick up a 360 and get Mass Effect and stop denying yourself of a great game. I will do the same when FF comes to the PS3 just like I am getting a Wii this holiday just so I can play SMG.
You shouldn't buy a 360 for this game. Now that EA bought BioWare there's a 100.1% chance of it coming to PC.
The only problem would be if they had an exclusive deal for the 360 and Microsoft doesn't want it on PC for some time. If it's been a year and you hear no news about a PC version, then getting a 360 by then is not a bad idea !

As far as 2 & 3 ; it could be debated but really....
How and why would it make sense to launch a story driven sequel to other platforms when the context of the first one is only available for the 360 ?
It could happen I guess but sounds mighty strange and strained logic to me. :?
It doesn't matter if it makes sense or not. It's obvious that Microsoft only made an exclusive deal for the first game. Give me a second I will find the link.M.E. is exclusive !

Really? I heard them only say during the recent Gamehead on Mass Effect (SpikieTV) that the trilogy its planned for the entire life of the 360. Yours may be a different thing though.
To answer others questions about the "main quest", once you get past the main intial levels, you are essentially allowed to travel the galaxy at your own pace. You can do the side quests or not. There is no "true" order.
This game should cause so a great growth for the RPG genre, and set the precednet for a long time. I also dont think liking Kotor will have an impact on liking this or not, it should suck in so many more people.
Either way, I cant wait!

From what I know, its only the first game that has an exclusive deal with the 360. Though I could be wrong about that.
I also doubt that they could get an entire trilogy on the 360. Even if it takes two years for each game, they would probably just be pushing the end of the 360's life.
Though I'm obviously no expert.
Anyway, I can't wait to get this game. One of the big reasons I want a 360. Just wish I could afford one at the moment lol

Who care, even if it did manage to come to the PS3 360 owners would either getting ready for ME2 or finishing it and getting ready for pt. 3 on the Xbox 720.

Yeah, I could see the first ME being a bonus disc with PS3 versions of ME2. While a PS3 version would be great, there's no way I'm waiting that long if I can avoid it.
Mass Effect will most likely come to PC and PS3 in 2008, but i'll give this game a rent a long with Assasins Creed. Its kinda funny how every extremely hyped game 360 fans play... is "the best game ever".Adrian_Cloud
