[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]Mass Effect will most likely come to PC and PS3 in 2008, but i'll give this game a rent a long with Assasins Creed. Its kinda funny how every extremely hyped game 360 fans play... is "the best game ever".jbeen

I am with you on the PC but I still don't think it has a shot in H-E- double hockey sticks of making it to the PS3.

Theres no reason why it can't be done on PS3... although i agree its more likely to be on PC in the long run. Just like Kotor, and Jade Empire, and since the sequel is expecting to come soon after this release it will come to PC at a much faster rate.

The fact bloody MS publishes it may be a TINY hurdle to overcome for the PS3 version of ME.

EA doesn't own the publishing rights to the first ME. MS does. The OTHER two installments, however, are another matter.

:| and EA has no say?
Also just because a company may publish a game doesn't mean it has exclusive rights to it. FF,GTA games for example.

lol, no you don't. Too human has now been o three different platforms if thats any evidence. And appearantly thats whole contract thing is void since EA now owns all the rights to there games :|.

...You're not serious, right? Let me try and say it again. If you make a time-committment, you HAVE to honor it, regardless if you are bought out/move by/to another mother-company. This is void if the prior mother-company you were with was either assimilated by the current mother-company your company is with or declares bankruptcy and sales all the rights to said other mother-company. I cannot make it ANY simpler. And Too Human =/= the ME, as the only reason it was on multiple systems prior to its 360 exclusitivitywas because, you guessed it...MS had NOT made a time-committed contract with them. I'll let you (hopefully)put two and two together. I know you despise the 360 and anyone who enjoys it for some reason or another. Maybe Bill Gates shanked your new puppy dog on Christmas day. But to just try and outright rain on this isn't just pathetic. It's simply mean and bitter.

I guarantee you that EA can't just come in and take over a project the MS has poured millions of dollars into. MS has to have a way to make sure their investment is safe. I guarantee you that if EA came in a told MS that not only were they taking over the publishing of ME but that they were going mulit plat with it MS lawyers would be up EA rear so fast it wold make there heads spin. MS will not loose their investment here. And I am sure they found a way to make sure the EA would not back door them. MS are not stupid despite what fanboys at SW may think.

Beautiful. You can't come up with anything, so you simply say 'feh, you're too stubborn'. Yes, your debating skills are TRULY impeccable. You have earned my applause, sir. You also seemed to skip over the part of my post that detailed INDEFINITE time-committments. Cute.

Seriously, this should be common sense for Christ's sake. Microsoft poured MILLIONS into the first ME title, and you think that they're just going to let EA take what potential profits there are? Do you have any IDEA how ****ed up our country would become if such a thing was legal?

I have a solution to this argument. If you want to play ME get a 360. That way the problem is solved and you don't have to sit around hoping and waiting for something that may or may not happen to happen. I want Final Fantasy 13 to come on the 360, but you know what, I am not going to sit around and wait for it to happen. I will get a PS3 and not deny myself of a game I want just because I am a fanboy.

Dude the convo is over.. no self ownage- just stop making your self look foolish. You never realized that FF, and GTA had different publishers around the world so just suck it up. And accept you made a mistake, its not a hard thing to do. I don't know you .. you don't know me.. the least you could do is be civil and stop trying to rebuttle with annoying childish antics.

[QUOTE="kevy619"]7 hours in, this is shaping up to be the best game Ive ever played. Cows, Hermits, Sheep, go get a 360 and mass effect.Dreams-Visions

Can you just go to planets and goof around and explore forever if you want. Or does it make you follow a strick path on each planet?

Meaning is it like total freeroam like Oblivion?

You should play KoTOR. It'll probably be a mirror image in many respects. It'll also probably tell you if you'll like this game (I'm sure it doesn't stray far from their style of game)

Mass efect is KOTOR. Don't tell me you hadn't noticed yet.

This looks like the best game ever, but I can't see how people compare it to KOTOR. The combat system looks completely different.

It's looks like an RPG with a third person shooter element and camera design.

KOTOR never felt like that to me.

[QUOTE="kevy619"]7 hours in, this is shaping up to be the best game Ive ever played. Cows, Hermits, Sheep, go get a 360 and mass effect.DarkCloud79

Thats great, because KOTOR is in my Top 5 of all time!

Ownage Denied:lol:

:| and EA has no say?
Also just because a company may publish a game doesn't mean it has exclusive rights to it. FF,GTA games for example.

Adrian_Cloud

They are published by Square and Take Two:lol:

Sony and Capcom too.... i could teach you more stuff if but ignorance is bliss?

Nice one, in-house game being published by their parent company, Take Two can do ANYTHING they want with the game:lol: Any more-selfownage?

Dude the convo is over.. no self ownage- just stop making your self look foolish. You never realized that FF, and GTA had different publishers around the world so just suck it up. And accept you made a mistake, its not a hard thing to do. I don't know you .. you don't know me.. the least you could do is be civil and stop trying to rebuttle with annoying childish antics.

AND the hypocrite-of-the-year Award goes tooooooo...

Yeah, if KOTOR had real-time combat, 20x more planets and locales, and the best braching dialog system yet...

I thought that is was common knowledge that in the business world, even if your company moves to another mother- company, you still have to honor ALL time-committments to the prior mother-company you were under until they expire. In some cases, the contract can be indefinite.I'll let you take a potshot at what kind of contract MS and Bioware made with one another regarding the first ME.

Adrian_Cloud

lol, no you don't. Too human has now been o three different platforms if thats any evidence. And appearantly thats whole contract thing is void since EA now owns all the rights to there games :|.

Don't have the contract.. just do some research?

WOW, that's without a doubt the most ignorant statement I've seen in some time. If EA refused to honor the contract MS signed with Bioware over ME they would get the crap sued out of them. EA knows this, MS knows this, most people who have ever signed a contract for anything know this. How you don't know this implies you have never had a business dealing before in your entire life.

Let me put it this way. If you signed a contract to buy a Honda and immediately following Honda got bought out by Toyota you don't automatically get a free car. The contract simply transfers to Toyota and you would now owe the remainder of the payment to Toyota. If you tried to say the contract was void you would wind up in court so fast your head would spin and you'd have a collosal black mark on your credit.

I think it's worth noting that total freeroam is not always a good thing... I mean, it arguably hurt Oblivion in some ways.

This is my homage to this thread and Mass Effect as a whole.

kevy619 started this thread to say how Mass Effect is so great

and we all love it but are filled with so much hate:P

then we got Zero5000X wanting it for his PS3

not realizing he aint gonna get pleased

next we got wu-tang saying how the enviroments are so lame

then my man Verge_6 asks, dude, have you even played this game?

Clearly wu-tang is smoking some hardcore weed

with Verge_6 asking, dude, can you share that stuff please.

In the end we all love Mass Effect because it is so great

but the problem is, we just can not stand the wait!

Its even more simple... Mass Effect in 2008 on PC/PS3 on 08. Is a simple prediction of probable events. Now to make it even simpler your implying that there is this grand contract that has this game locked up till kingdom come, dont imply or even suggest that. To make matters even easier EA owns the rights, now the main quarrel was with MS being the said "publisher", of a game of which they neither own or are going to publish.

there i saved you money and time. If you disagree about anything else PM... this threads needs to die.

Actually when they pointed out that you self owned yourself you started with the back pedaling and the damage control...

Both of them have been right on the $$$ with what they have been saying, you seem to be the one that just doesnt get the point....

I would say thats because 1. people couldn't stay focused and 2. Oblivion had huge flaws (I still really enjoyed it). It was a pale shadow compared to Morrowind.

Anyway back on topic. It wasn't so much the free roaming aspect I was interested in, but rather how long the game could be extended by/replayability with the extra "random" planets, and whether they were worth visiting.
