Assuming Mass Effect 2 is released by Fall 2009, Mass Effect 3 would fall into Fall of 2011. By then, the next Xbox may be almost available for launch.

Mass Effect 3 could be a launch title on the next Xbox, if it follows the same 2 year developement cycle and Microsoft releases it's next console in time for Holiday 2011.

I don't really know how the PC popped into this conversation, anyway. If the point of the topic is that the PS3 isn't getting this game, what does that have to do with the PC? Yes, cows can claim to have gaming PCs that'll play the game, but they could also claim to have 360s for the exact same purpose. Either way, it's still essentially the over-used phrase "damage control". No matter when Mass Effect 2 and 3 come to the PC, and no matter how well they play, and how good they look, they still won't be games available for the PS3, and that's the bottom line. Yes, we're aware Mass Effect is on the PC, and no, no one's claiming the games can only be played on the 360. However, for anyone who doesn't play games on their computer (console gamers), Mass Effect is exclusive to the 360, which is a big deal to them. It seems like everytime one of these threads pop up, hermits take it as a personal insult that they're not mentioned. Ok look at the 360 right now. It will take another 2 years for the 360 to able to have the right soft ware to run on the final fantasy 13. microsoft recieves no royalties for you buying a PC game, for one. for another, if you support the PC then Microsoft will (hopefully) shift focus to the PC, thereby doing what you set out to do.

Wine is basically emulation software for Linux. there's a similar thing for OS X called Crossover. (and I'm using Leopard right now anyway)

Yeah, but it gives Microsoft more money to buy exclusives away from the PS3... it really doesn't hurt Microsoft as a company at all... it's almost like arguing that the PS2 is hurting the PS3... the products are in the same family so one can use it's resources to help the other.

except that the PS3 is meant to replace the PS2. it's like there are two brands of soaps released at the same time by the same company. if you can't stand one soap, and instead buy the other one (and many people follow your example, etc) then the company would reduce production of the first soap and focus more on the second. true, it doesn't hurt the company at all, but it hurts the brand.

Limited from your point of view, but that doesnt make it fact. I used to play solely on the PC, and did for many, many years. However, I will make the point that alot of PC gamers used to be consolites. I was, because I started out on the Atari 2600. Eventually, I started gaming on the PC, and lost interest in the consoles, but I eventually found my way back to consoles. Truth be told, console gaming came BEFORE PC gaming. Just because he, and myself as well, now choose not to game on the PC doesnt make us limited gamers by any means. I see myself as.... focused. :D

Oh, and about the comments that you (making it sound as if the hermit world is frowning upon him) feel that lolkie_81s opinion or thoughts dont matter.... If you truly think that a statement like that means anything at all, then enjoy your world, and we will enjoy ours. I dont care what you or anyone else thinks about me, I am going to do what I want and what I like. The PC communities so called distaste for consolites has no bearing on what I or anyone else chooses to like and play, nor should you fool yourself and think that it does.

Yeah, that was a mistake on my part... I just said that because that's how the article had it written... I wasn't thinking in weird system wars terminology when I made the post earlier ;)

The days of exclusive games are over, and system wars has been over since the Wii came out, sadly none of you can move on and just go play your games. Still fighting the imaginary war that will never end. Stop wasting your time arguing over things that matter this much >.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why can't you just play both PC and console games? I never praised playing only PC games. I'm not a hermit.

Well, from what I remember as a kid, the Atari 2600 was out before I saw PCs as a common household item. I can remember the Apple IIe, and I had some of the TRS-80 16K (Yeah, you read that right... 16 K, lol) stuff, but that was all after I had my Atari 2600. So, thats why I said the console gaming before PC gaming comment. Computers were not PCs at the time, if I can remember correctly. I know for a fact they werent anywhere I lived or in the vicinity.

And why not play both PC and console games? I just dont want to, honestly. I enjoy what I play, and as the old saying goes, "If it aint broke, dont fix it".... my situation aint broke. I am quite happy with it. And I want to stay as far away from WoW as I can, so it doesnt sink its hooks into me. :D
