Im still deciding between 3DS and Vita but this is not a good sign! Other than Nintendo exclusives i find Vita far more interesting. Lets hope it delivers.

You should wait until E3, the fate of the systems will be decided by then as we will get a clear picture of how Vita will perform worldwide and to see how the 3rd parties will react to the numbers. They ignored handhelds because of the growing smartphone/social network/tablet markets, but 3DS at least is a huge success now so we'll see if they give us the "only Nintendo games sell on Nintendo systems" finger or if they will actually give us some gamez.

Most of them just like to troll and when they're favourite companies get screwed, they just go hide in a hole until it's over. That's economy pals, sometimes it goes good, sometimes it goes like sh*t.
All Vita need for me to be sold, is full third party support. I really love the fact is has two analog sticks and it´s huge high res screen. On the other hand, due to it´s success, 3DS will most likelly end up with a bigger (and probably better) library.
I will wait for E3 and hopefully some price drops.

Do we have to care about the Vita to have a valid opinion on it? Ironically the point the doubters of the Vita make is that most people don't and won't care for it.
Oh great, the 'poor economy card'. Well I guess I could blame the economy for the 3DS doing better than the DS did this far in its lifetime. ;)
Sony boned themselves waiting so long to launch the vita.
They could have throat stomped the 3ds if they launched when it was $250 and had fewer games.
topgunmv
Pretty much.
lol Sony's got no one but themselves to blame. They waited an entire year to launch the system after revealing it so it's far from being big news anymore. Barely even marketed the system so I doubt most people even know about it besides gamers. Then, as good as the hardware may be, they've done nothing but make the system less and less accessible from memory card prices and psn limitations and what not. And on top of that, they've got 3 products competing for the same space and consumers. And for some reason they wonder why the Vita has gotten of to an abysmal start.

Poncho_Hachacha
They are utterly clueless. Maybe if they spent money on making the Vita fully backwards compatable with PSP games instead of adding unnecessary hardware to it then maybe the PSP wouldn't have outsold it for two weeks in succession.

I'd get the 3DS. It's painfully obvious it's superior to the Playstation Vita.
Off topic. I like you sig better when it had more build up. The fact teh that owl had that rat it mouth and staring at then swallowing it made it super creepy[QUOTE="JohnF111"][QUOTE="lazerface216"]Im non christian yet celebrate it, it's more a culture thing than religion now though. Japan just has a totally different culture. It's funny how you say that, it's not a "tradition" thing otherwise we wouldn't have this "Holiday" crap in everything. "Happy Holidays!" to be exact. Christmas is based on religion, whether or not you celebrate it for religious reasons does not have to apply. In fact, it makes no sense for people to celebrate it when they're not Christian, because the whole purpose of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, if you don't believe in that,w hy the hell do you bother with the gift giving and things that really aren't even the whole point of Christmas? :/is this fact? because the vast majority of non christians celebrate christmas.
yoshi_64
Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but the Church put it on winter solstice to make it easier to convert Pagans. Also, no one really knows when Jesus was born, most think April or September.
That said, it's basically just a massively commercialized excuse to feel good for a few days a year. That's ok with me.
Well, that is fairly surprising indeed - I honestly expected the PS Vita to have gained some momentum, and being outsold 4 times by it's rival is not good. But it is extremely early days, we all saw how the 3DS launch started off, and it'd be silly to claim that as a failure presently. Who knows, even if it doesn't sell in Japan we've all seen that a platform can be almost non-existent in a market and still maintain a solid market share (360).Ravensmash
Your post makes a lot of sense. Japan isn't the only territory and 3DS sold quite poorly in the beginning too. People know this but some just love to claim stuff like:
Vita is doomed !!!!
Sony is doomed !!!!

Except that if the King of handhelds can't move a console at 250, what makes Sony think they can? So far they can't..
If it drops the price, expect that features (or even corners) to be cut as well. A higher loss per unit is expected.I knew it. LOL. **** is a disaster. Just a warning. DO NOT PURCHASE A VITA ON RELEASE DATE. You will get burned. Sony, drop the price by 100 bucks.

I wouldn't mind. get rid of the back touch plate. Not necessary. Just stupid in my opinion.
It's been like that for most of 2011. Where have you been? The Xbox 360 has never sold high numbers in Japan. It's been like that since the original XBox. Still the XBox 360 has sold over 3x's what the original XBox sold in Japan, so it did make some nice progress this generation.PS3 beats Wii60 once again.

The issue with the Vita in Japan is the lack of games. Lack of software is a problem for any platform during the early stage of its lifecycle. We'll see by E3 whether the Vita is a failure or not. People are calling doomsday for the Vita far too quickly - what, it has only been three weeks!

Actually by E3 sales may not have picked up that much. The real measuring stick will be how well it does through it's first World Wide Holiday. It won't be until January next year that we will be able to really see the future of the Vita.
The Vita already has over 75 games announced to be released within 2012 or a little after and a lot of them are some really good games:
All these games could be huge and while no 1 game might be a system seller it does have an impressive lineup over the first year. Not to mention all the recent Monster Hunter Vita rumors that have been floating around over the last 2 days.

[QUOTE="kuraimen"]Does everybody forget that the 3DS was also selling poorly at the start and that they had to cut the price quickly? Chances are these companies already know that and they release the hardware at that price so that they can sell the first batch and then lower the price.Fizzman
And alienate their most loyal customers. Sound business strategy you got there. Nintendo did not plan on dropping the price of the 3DS. Sony doesnt plan to either, but they have no choice since Nintendo already did it.
the vita cant drop any price until they have some profit coming in.....people here really need to take an economics class or even a business class
[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"]You getting it on launch!? D: I want to, but I'm a bit concerned about being an early adopter.Febuarary 22 can't come fast enough

why does it matter if your an early adopter or not if you feel its worth the price go for it
even if sony(which they cant in hell) drop the price they are going to give you something to copensate for it.
im getting it on launch

Actually if it's selling badly enough, Sony would be better off taking larger losses so they can build some decent marketshare. Otherwise, they won't get any traction in the market at all. These rumors might be fake, but the Monster Hunter Series will eventually end up on the Vita. Not if Nintendo keeps paying Capcom for exclusivity. they need to see PROFIT first they are not rolling in enough money to loss lead for a while like the 3ds.
and the only reason the 3ds could of cut the price is because nintendo was making in insane profit on the 250 3ds so they arent loss leading by much.... i dont even think they are loss leading anymore honestly

how do you know that i mean nintendo just brought MH4 for 3ds and these 3g sales are very good capcom may have found a new home for there mh franchise...well the main games
What's more hilarious about this is that the 3DS outsold all 4 of Sony's products combined.
3DS = 197,952
PS3+PSV+PSP+PS2 = 174,252

You must be forgetting you're talking about Capcom. And unless ninty is throwing money to keep it exclusive, they will eventually make one for the Vita.
