Well as far as I know if you live above the equator line, summer begins at the end of June.

Before calling me ignorant, you cannot automatically assume summer is the same everywhere else as it is supposedly in Ireland.

If either of you had bothered to read what I'd said (instead of misreading it, education FTW) you'd have seen that I said IN Ireland the start of May is when Summer begins, but it DEPENDS WHERE YOU LIVE. Different countries throughout the western world (and world in general) have different official start times for when summer begins and ends.

The fact that you lived in Ireland and now the States is even more of a reason for you to know that. Not me.

Honestly, you see threads like this every time a big game gets delayed, and even multiplat ones or original IPs some were excited for. So no one is really innocent here. Sony fans have dished it out before, now they have to take it. Maybe not you but I have seen threads from every side just like this one, only insert another game title and/or change the length it was pushed back. Sony loyal fans will get their chance to make athread like this in the future.

It is kind of humorous. I remember when camping for the Wii it was all parents and college kids, and camping for the PS3 it was all high school kids. That was Dulles, VA, too so there were a good 15 places to camp for a system and each store was the same.

Exactly. For all we know it may be delayed only by a matter of weeks or a month.

Furthermore, this whole notion of releasing it for the Holidays otherwise it won't sell is silly. EA releases a Madden every August and it sells just fine. The Spring/Summer time is a notorious bad time for quality games every year so releasing MGS4 would be tremendous.

Anyways MGS4 being delayed is no suprise to me they have to put in more ridiculous features like:

Rolling around in a carpet instead of a barrel

More adult mens magazines

More lockers to hide in :wink:

Paint different color boxes (again to hide in)

More badly controlling sixaxis gameplay.

It's because people game less in the summer. Casuals (the majority of gamers) are out doing other things. Console and game sales have alwasys been slow in Q2/Q3, so devs target Q1 and Q4 as much as possible in order to maximize sales.

they accounced that R&C would be delayed like 1-2 week, granted that was fairly recent....but regardless...it just means that by the time when MGS4 is released there will be a big enough ps3 userbase to justify it being exclusive OR konami will port it to the 360 (probably PC too) when it gets to be almost summer time 08 and they just dont see how making the game remain exclusive anymore

Excuse me but when did it ever say that the delay was due to development issues? Maybe you should get all the facts straight first. They said it was to make sure everything is perfect for their gamers. not because we can't get the game to work with the PS3.
