It was scheduled to come out early next year, now it's being pushed back to the middle of the year.

They just finished demonstrating their demo in several events. Most likly they are going back home with all the feedback and working on perfecting the game based off the feedback of the demo. Its his last MGS game for crying out loud. He wants to go out with a bang.

Well considering the game isnt even complete yet I would hold your comments about it being amazing until Q2 2008. We all know what happened with Lair. Im not saying that it isnt going to be a good game, but I think that it would be foolish of you to state it as fact. after all PS3 is known for their flops!

You may have noticed all the other games that weren't delayed. Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted.

LOL yea and look at the 1 billion they had to spend because they rushed their console. Mass Effect, Bioshock, Too Human all got delayed as well. Heck every system has delays. Most likly the case is that after Konami got feedback fromt he demo they had been showing at different events, they are more then likly fixing any issues and adding things they think might increase the games success based off of feedback.

I love how the PS3 users keep saying it is a good thing and that they are glad it happened because gives them time to finish it. Would it not be a better thing though to finish it sooner then later? I know I would rather have a finished game now not later. Any bug or glitches it would be much better if they were able to get them out sooner then later. Unless you work for Sony stop trying to act as their PR team and just admit it stinks for PS3 users.rybe1025

It's not my fault that the game is only on PS3, hence I was forced to buy a PS3 to play it. As an MGS fan, I want this to be the finest game ever created - no one wants a rushed game, and it has absolutely nothing to do with console fanboyism. I'm sure any other game fan would say the same.

Actually MGS4 has made major changes to its gameplay more so than the games you listed. The problem is Kojima uses the same structure for each game in terms of boss battles and pacing. The names and faces change but its still there. Even if this game does break from that formula calling it "the game of the generation" at this point is wishful thinking at best.

There's such a thing as a fanboy of a videogame series though - we are not all in one big happy "normal gamer" boat, where the only thing we're limited to bickering about is which console is the better one. As proof, there are debates every day about which is better: MGS or Splinter Cell, GT or Forza, Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat and Halo or Half-life. Please tell me you've seen at least one..

And true, "normal gamers" would like to have a non-rushed game sooner than later, but as an admitted fanboy of several game series, MGS being one of them, i'd have to say that I really wouldn't fall into this "normal gamer" category. I care about the quality of this game more than any other, simply because it's ending my favourite game series of all time with a bang. If a delay is what Kojima needs to bring the overall standard up to the level he wants, then that's what it's going to take. It has absolutely nothing to do with the current state of the PS3. I would be saying the same thing about Ninja Gaiden II and GTA.

waht, like R&C? Oh wait, that didnt fail becasue everyone but GS gave it awesome scores and GS gave it a good score.

How long has Konami been making games? like what almost 2 decades?,there's no reason for a vet dev team (not saying all of em been there for that long) to keep on delaying a game,even if its to "polish" things up.You set release dates for a reason!! and constantly delaying a game whether it be MGS4,DMC4 or GTAIV (wow..I just noticed something) just to polish a few edges?.

As long as the game is fun and has something that brings the gamer in/buy it you've done your job as a dev so stop trying to getting games over hyped when all your doing is wasting our time waiting and wasting your money on constant delays.

Wow...Im actaully surprised by this.I cant wait until the 2nd quater of 2008 and see mgs delayed yet again.
