MGS4 360 or Not - Keep ALL Discussion Here

Perhaps if Kojima dies, this has a chance of happening. Anyway this isn't like FF and DMC, the PS3 version is already out and it's already moved systems. MGS4 has done it's job.Floppy_Jim

MGS4's job is to make as much money as it can. Konami dont care about the PS3, or any other console. They're out to help themselves.

Making it multiplat would help themselves.

I think what he meant was would they want to risk Kojima leaving the company if they ported it, and who on his team would leave with him.

I think what he meant was would they want to risk Kojima leaving the company if they ported it, and who on his team would leave with him.

though I think kojima himself would be pleased if more people get to play his precious game.

I find it funny that whenever said exclusive games have rumors of it going to their currently owned system, they say that they don't need to buy that system at which the exclusive game was on. Kinda stupid financial decision to buy a system for one game.

I don't really foresee this happening, but if it does, I'm not going to be surprised. Final Fantasy XIII was already the reality check people needed - the "empire of Playstation" is long gone. That's not because it's a bad system, but because third parties have no real reason to keep a title exclusive. What benefit does Konami, Square-Enix, etc gain from making a console-specific game? The only reason to create an exclusive for them would be if they had a situation where it would cost more to port the game than it would make back in sales.

Au contraire, this gen has a huge amount of competition (MS did just cut the price of the 360 to $200), we've just seen the hardware divided from the software. That is a good thing. Exclusivity is a terrible means of forcing market-poor hardware down our throats. To me, the idea of exclusivity is as absurd as "this movie only plays on a Sony brand DVD player". When the PS3 and 360 are so close in hardware power, there's really no good reason they can't share games.

If it worked where PS3 only owners didn't get f***** then I'd agree with you. The exclusives only seem to bleed out from Sony, and the few that do come our way tend to be a year late and a bump map short.

idk..I have both Ps3 and 360 and seeing all those games that used to be rather big on Sony's platform becoming multiplat kinda hurts me lol

It's good for the publishers/devs/fans/gamers no doubt, but bad for Ps360 owners like me imo.

Bah I'm a PS360Wii owner and MGS4 is a PS3 game to me. Just like I got Bioshock on the 360 and thats that. Before MGS4 came out I replayed the whole series and considering that the shadow moses scene from MGS that was put in was the playstation version and not twin snakes this game was made to be on the PS3. A 360 port will only be seen as an after thought port by 360 owners just like MGS2. Who is honestly still excited about Bioshock on PS3? Not the same as when it launched a year ago. I think MGS4 on the 360 will be met with loud yawns.

Bah I'm a PS360Wii owner and MGS4 is a PS3 game to me. Just like I got Bioshock on the 360 and thats that. Well they haven't dissapeared yet. Until that game is on a shelf in a 360 box and by that time R2,LBP, and KZ2 will be on PS3 owners minds. MGS4 will be best game of 2008. Their is something to be said for being able to play it first. Thats why MS emphasizes "day and date" releases of Tekken and thats why the FFXIII news was slightly worrisome. By the time they port it will anyone still care?

1.PS3 is in third place and will remain so for the entire gen. Any delusion that it could suddenly jump into 2nd at this point is unfounded and downright wrong. Its not suddenly going to move, its 3rd and will always be 3rd.

2. Seeing as I own all three I really don't care about final blows or what place each console is in. I get to enjoy all the great games. I win and that's all that matters.

If this happens...the fallout will be like anything unseen.

Yes, because Resistence is the game that made buyers camp out overnight to buy a launch PS3, not MGS. WKC is the game that made lunatic buyers pony up thousands on ebay, not FF. LBP is the game that PS3 owners have used as "pwnage" for 3 years and counting now, not GT (and still the wait goes on). NGS is the game that action gamers cried superiority over, not DMC.

The facts are these: the games that you have are good, and even those lost exclusives aren't actually lost, as if multiplats magically cease to function on the PS3. But don't kid yourself, and spare US the disembling... Uncharted and Motorstorm are not the titles any cow was salivating over this time 2 years ago, this is not the **** that was supposed to knock our socks off.

Well, Bioshock was never exclusive that I know of, and Gears/ME (though multiplat) still don't work when you slip them into the PS3 disc tray for some reason. But of course, every PS3 owner has a fully tricked-out gaming PC rig, right?! :lol:

Just for the record, with this statement, I'm all but convinced MGS4 WILL come to the 360. I'm not positive, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if when MS caught wind of that statement by Konami, they sprung into action, sending $1000 worth of chocolate roses, and a blank check directly to the head of Konami.

Expect MGS4 (redux) on the PS3 and 360 in 2010 or about there. I assume we will hear an announcement about it by TGS 09 if it is going to happen.

Forgettable? I wouldn't say so, i'll never forget the game, but as you probably know it is very heavy on storytelling, and as I already know the story, I don't feel the need to go through it all again. I'll probably play it again sometime, but I can't see myself doing so anytime soon.
