The PS3 back then was only Dual 6800Ultras or GT's in SLI I think the PS3s current 7800XX series can match that.

The ps3 runs on the RSX which is based on the 7800GTX, it's a little better than the 7800.

Anyway who cares about these things? we all know the ps3 can do much better than MGS4

We'll just have to see Uncharted2 and GOWIII :D Hopefully they'll show something about uncharted2 at TGS :P

Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain also look amazing.

I'm actually amazed that that shiny box can do such graphic, and only in it's 2nd year what will we see next? :D

Well at last 1 intelligent respond that doesnt bring up scores and things that got nothing to do with the thread,but the thing is that they did the 2005 trailer with dev kits that had 1gb of ram and and 7800gtx they did the engine with what sony promised them..and then when they got the new dev kits the graphic card was downgraded and had less system ram.


1gb of total system ram,and the7800gtx has more memory bus than the RSX.

People that say MGS4 is "not fun and boring" (I';m being honest here, I've never even heard that about MGS4) are looking for a reason to hate it simply because of the system it's on. If it were multiplatform, we wouldn't hear nearly any of that kind of propanda. You don't see people attacking COD4 like HALO 3, because it's multiplat.

MGS4 got great scores almost everywhere because it's just a great game.Forget comparison's, and rumor. To actually play it at your own pace, take in all the secrets hidden in the game, and play it wt your pace and difficulty, you see how good it is.

Playing at a friends house for 20 minutes while he's in the bathroom isn't the MGS4 experience. Those are the same people calling it "boring". They don't know what they are talking about.

Also, I thinkThe Batman:Dark Knight was boring with no action, because I saw 10 minutes of footage on YouTube and spoke to others that agree. Now I'm posting about it.

Its silly to call anyone who doesnt worship MGS4 a fanboy, i have it, played it the whole way through to the end and had fun, would i pick it up and play through again, not a chance because i found alot of the gameplay very dull, the only reason i kept going was because of the great boss battles and the story.

Not saying it doesnt deserve its score or anything but its not a perfect game at all, and its not only fanboys that didnt like it.

In this place you'll have anti PS3 fanboys say they hate the game to prove a point and you'll also get pro PS3 fanboys saying they love the game just to prove a point, but you also get your honest gamers that call it how they see it.

exactly, and it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. i think it still looks fine personally, but i've seen the articles that prove they had to upscale it from sub-HD - so that kinda implies the system wasn't up to Hideo's expectations based on early dev kits and specs.
